OK Tony: I'm impressed by your great effort and commitment to raising the bar in your industry. I used to frequent Pysanno's all the time and enjoyed it. Best of luck in your new place. I'm going to get there one of these days!
We met you last night with our relatives from Phoenix. We've had pizza in Venice and in Berlin, in New York and Rome, but yours is THE BEST! Will this give us a discount at your School of Pizza? :-) The clam and garlic pizza was incredible and, of course, so was the Margherita pizza. We had the best visit ever to San Fran thanks to Tony's even though it took us forty-five minutes to find a parking spot! Gladly we do respect the craft. Cheers and Pizza on Earth! Vince & Sheri
i just went there the other day.. may i say the BEST i have ever tasted I will be coming back even though the waiting time was Two hours! It was worth it:-)
Im reading this this guy Tony's Pizza Bible and I have to say -- I have learned more in 1 week and the 5 pizzas I have made------ WOW --- I make better pizza than I have made in 20 years..... IN 5 Days.... get his book and follow it step by step. And get 2 Pizza Stones-- and here are the 10 Commandments for home pizza making ------ Tony Gemignani's Ten Commandments of Pizza HEY, IT’S THE PIZZA BIBLE, RIGHT? SO HERE ARE MY SACRED LAWS. THOU SHALT USE A SCALE TO WEIGH INGREDIENTS. THOU SHALT NOT RUSH THE RISE. THOU SHALT USE TWO PIZZA STONES OR STEELS RATHER THAN ONE. THOU SHALT NOT PUT COLD SAUCE ON PIZZA DOUGH. THOU SHALT NOT PUT COLD DOUGH IN A HOT OVEN. THOU SHALT NOT OVERTOP THY PIZZA. THOU SHALT NOT MAKE A PIZZA LARGER THAN THY PIZZA PEEL OR STONE. THOU SHALT RETURN THY PIZZA TO THE SAME SPOT AFTER ROTATING IT. THOU SHALT SLICE THY PIZZA BEFORE ADDING FINISHING INGREDIENTS. THOU SHALT BRUSH THY STONES TO CLEAN THEM AFTER EACH PIZZA.
@mccartyj1 yes,a nice looking place is good for the eye,not that good for the tommy you know what i mean, BUT if you got fresh and well prepared food too, that is the best. first thing for restaurants should be focused on food, like italians in italy restaurants does Just take a vacation there and see how italians does when they go out for dinner, then just listen what are they'r restaurant reviews. is not only me that say the food should be prime
Yes we seem to be good at that in America. Everything is fancy, while meanwhile we have one of the most contaminated food supply's in the world. Italy however, is one of top producers of organic food in the world and has been praised for its supreme quality and health. Americans are to concerned with looks, and can't see the bigger picture.
@fracazzo That's very interesting fracazzo, but as a "true italian" wouldn't you prefer a place that has both good food and an interesting interior. As a "true American" this is what I prefer. I don't go to a restaurant just to "feed". I go for the whole experience. Too bad you as a "true Italian" still don't understand that.
nice place and nice presentation but true italians people from italy first of all they want is good food, they don't really care a very good looking place and how many appliances there is IF the food quality and preparation is not very good. This is what american people still don't understand forget the look and appearances and give them the thing for what they does come in; very good food, and if it's not they'll never come back in again to the restaurant. italian do EAT better!
I ate here last September '09. Great pizza, excellent service, can't wait to travel to San Fran again to pay another visit. Good job, Tony.
