Mr. P. Explores... An Abandoned Drywall Plant (Lorain, Ohio)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лис 2019
- Last spring, I had the privilege of exploring a once thriving manufacturing plant in Lorain, Ohio, that is now an abandoned and slowly moldering post-industrial wreck and shadow of its former self. The facility once manufactured drywall used in construction, but all of the larger equipment used to do so had been removed when the plant closed. That still left some amazing sites to see within the building. Five levels of platforms and connecting accessways made for a harrowing yet interesting explore. Check out the highlights of the adventure and enjoy!
PS: There are a few works of rather coarse graffiti on the walls as you tour. The authors are obviously not poets, nor are they artistes. Fair warning.

i was a subcontractor that worked on the fire alarm equipment there back in its heyday, sad to see it looking this way, i remember watching drywall get made there, place was massive.. just as dirty as i remembered!
I had the opportunity to be in that plant back in its hay-day. I remember the quarter mile long oven that would bake the gypsum board and finally cut it to length. The gentleman that I spoke with had the job to overseeing the baking process and had a bicycle that he would ride from one viewing port to the next in the oven to monitor the quarter mile long process.
So cool! Wish I could have seen it as it was back in the day. So much was removed from the site!
@@MrPExplores sure would have been cool to see in it's hay day lot of jobs lost when they closed
Not as much graffiti as I was expecting. Nice explore man.
Thanks! Yeah, it was fairly clean considering.
@@MrPExplores For sure.
I worked there in the 1960s as a teletype operator in the office.
We are currently renovating those offices, amd expanding. Lots of cool finds left behind, im sure many good memories as well
The offices still had old floppy disks in them!
where was it & its name i do not remember hearing of this factory - i did 30 yrs. in the Steel Mill - like to go through it one more time i left there in '98 i was a Pipefitter
I live right by there and i know someone who bought it out, we are currently renovating it
Makes sense. Good that they are going to be bringing jobs back, hopefully.
@@MrPExplores its gonna be used for storage of excavation equipment, huge building amd has alot of potential. Mitt Romney ans Obama held a rally in there years ago to use at as an example of unemployment.
@@brandonhennes8202 Makes sense. I suppose its good that it will be used for something productive.
Lies
@@douchebottle lol i have the key to the gate
Is the Guard shack still there in front of the building?
As far as I know, yes. It was back in September.
Can you please do the abandoned Ford factory and steel mill in lorain?
I don't know that those are actually closed.
Mr. P. Explores i don’t believe they are maybe parts of the old ford plant, but there is an Amazon fulfillment center operating out of part of it. I believe the steel mill is partially open. Seems like it could also be dangerous.
