Pukka paintwork, the layers really did their job.For priming PE I use the graphite based Mr metal color -Dark iron,it’s tough and self levels to a micro thin layer. If it does chip you have a dark metallic colour underneath.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Out of the Mr metal color range the dark iron is a unique formula. With it you can recreate a jet black metallic to a polished steel. It’s brush paintable too as it’s a buffable metallic. You get different results depending on how much you shake the bottle.Saved my life while building “interior kits”.You can create three or four distinct metal “shades” from it.And being graphite pigment it’s very thin but tough.
Many thanks for these lessons of painting, Rick, honestly, your paint and weathering are very inspiring to me, as I can see clearly and easily the process and understand why the effect must be done and how to achieve a good result
Hola César. Gracias! I'm glad that you not only enjoy the videos, but also find some useful information. As always, I very much appreciate your kind words and support.
Very goid work Rick . I think that may be the most effective presiding I've seen on video . Most of what I see is just covered by the next paint layer and doesn't show up . You have some really nice shadows going on there .
Looking great Rick! Blackening etch sure makes a difference and I find paint bonds a little better to it as well. The Pencil numbers and stripe turned out nice.... I'l have to remember that one next time I can't find the appropriate decals. Back to my video now... much to do. Cheers!
I think the Russians armoured vehicles in the Battle of Berlin were really cool. I am currently working on a SU76 and this video is really helpful and wonderful work. I've subscribed
I got 2 AK pencils in my red primer weathering set there completely different from the weathering pencils there stored in clear plastic tubes one's beautiful graphite and the other is a white chalk for writing in factory markings when vehicles in the factory but was getting at is the AK chalk is good for doing the marking
Very professional and interesting! I've been following your projects since the days when you didn't have a UA-cam channel yet. I propose to be friends with channels!
Hi Rick, very intresting video. As long I can see, un your models you don't use the "tradicional" pin wash. Are you covering this step in the oil paints step? Thanks
Man... This tank and relative diorama are beautiful! I have one question.. Which percentage did you use for russin green and silver grey , for make contrast?
I don't generally add gloss to the RC paints. Adding a light application of the thinner before beginning helps to set the surface for the oils so that they don't "stain" and for easier blending.
One question: looking over your workflow, do you ever use washes or set a step specifically aside for asking washes/pin washes to outline the different features?
Jacob. Short answer is no. I tend to work on everything at the same time...the oils aid in that process. In general, I will be adding color, shadow, highlights...etc., all during the same pass.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda I think I may try that approach. Call it my 30s getting to me or having kids, but I'm tending to slow down on my work and really "sculpt" my models now.
Great result. Your weathering path is very interesting and effect look really good. T-34 is, as we say in Poland, "subject - river". Thousands of stories, factories, variants, and so on. Maybe I will build one from for example Yugoslavia war from the 90's? ;) But now, thanks for Your video! All the best for You! ;)
Best use for them pencils I've seen yet .
They are very versatile. Thanks for watching.
Every time you use the pencil's i get more confident and inspired to use them more and more on my own models!
Hey Vincent. I am finding that more that I use them the more that they become another "comfortable" tool in my box.
Great work as always Rick. Really like the pencil work as well. It’s just a great video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
That bring back with the acrylic filter at the end is really cool Rick.
Yep, it's a nice hack! Thanks, Pete.
Wooo! Perfect timing as I'm on paternity leave. Keep up the great work, Rick!
Good luck with you new "model". Congrats!
Superb painting results. Just discovering the product to switch photo etched parts to black, thanks! Can’t wait to see the final scene!
thank you.

I haven't use the Mr color series, but it sounds like it might be a good alternative. Thanks for the tips!

Looks great really does! I've got abers bed spring armour for a couple my miniart kit's but now need double check on what factories had it cheers
Yes, the research is more than half the battle --- so to speak.
Excellent result, Rick.
Thank you! Cheers!

I didn't know that there are different types. The white I used is from the Black and White set.
Very good work my friend
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing outcome! Also a big fan of oil paints and pigments in my weathering. I need to try the pencils. I have the AK black and white set.
Thanks, Bryan. The pencils are fun, just need a little bit of testing to understand them...and of you go.
Beautiful Rick
thanks, Bob.
Great job as always!
I appreciate that. Thanks, my friend.
Looks GREAT!!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching.
Great work I am happy to find you!!!!!

Hi Rick, very intresting video. As long I can see, un your models you don't use the "tradicional" pin wash. Are you covering this step in the oil paints step? Thanks
Sorry for the delay. Yes, the oils allow for all of the necessary shading, or highlights along panels without "tranditional" methods...so to speak.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda it makes sense, thank you, I'll try that approach
Man... This tank and relative diorama are beautiful! I have one question.. Which percentage did you use for russin green and silver grey , for make contrast?
I really can't tell you as I do things on the fly. The video should show all of the colors, the steps and layering.
Great tips and stunning work Rick,as usual, thanks for this ✌☺
Glad you enjoyed it
looks great!!!
Thanks for watching...I really appreciate your support! Talk to you soon.
Any chance of providing a link to the PE bedspring armor you used?
It's the Voyager set.I ordered mine through BNA, but many others have it in stock.
Hello! Do you add any gloss varnish into AK RC paints? I’ve tried them and in my opinion these paints are too matte
