      Wrong crowd. Also, while the imitations are spot-on, it doesn't go far beyond that. The show is missing a dysfunctional character to foil Ian Rubbish--a Bizzaros version of Sid Vicious with a heroin needle stuck to his arm with duct tape, or something.

      @@johnbull1568 im not sure the 'break up' metric has the same explanatory value it did during, for example, the carol burnett era...the first season of portlandia was actually quite funny to me, yet after that it became excruciatingly cringe leftwing propaganda, which shows both that these ppl know what actual comedy is (portlandia s1) and that they deliberately choose to preach DNC (actually, more like CIA) talking points instead (s2+)

      @Jammasta, I know you wrote this as a tribute and I like Fred A, too, like hundreds of thousands others, but to call him "terribly underated" makes you sound like you have some sort of unique taste plenty others aren't equipped with. If anyone really likes SNL and comedy, they have respect for Armisen, so no. Not underrated at all from the people who care.

    If you listen to *just* the music, it's like your typical UK82 punk rock band. Totally compatible to something like The Partisans, Conflict, etc. Loved the entire bit, especially the music. Fantastic satire, and a loving tribute to real punk rock. Thank you to all involved. Fred's an amazing artist.

In the original SNL sketch , when they do a parody of the infamous Bill Grundy/Pistols interview, Armisen is clearly mimicking Johnny Rotten, right down to the seating position and his defiant naughty boy demeanour. In particular, the way he slowly drawls "be deeeeeecent". That's Lydon... Not Jones.. His name "Ian Rubbish" is a parody of Johnny Rotten, the first of many UK punks with that style of pseudonym.
      I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, rather than assume they are stupid. So when the other guy said his Johnny Rotten impersonation was "spot on", I'm assuming he formed his opinion from watching the SNL sketch 5 minutes before he clicked on this video.

    I am a life long British (Scottish) punk rocker and I have to say that Iain Rubbish and the Bizarros are... Such a fuckin' band. See that 'Hey Policeman', it was written as satire clearly but it might have inadvertently became the greatest punk song ever written besides Complete Control.

    So theres actually a punk band from Akron, Ohio back from around ‘76 called The Bizarros who I just found out about last week-the reason why I came across this video tonight. Theyre pretty awesome (Lady Doubonette is a personal fave) and I wonder if Fred knows of these guys cuz they’re definitely not British. In any case Fred is absolutely hilarious and seemingly spot on w his accent from the Brits in the comments 😜

    A great idea for a comedy movie with the Ian Rubbish character ( who Armisen created as a hybrid of all those british political punk poets of the 76-77 scene e.g Strummer, Jones, Rotten, Weller, Ian Drury) and have him exist somehow ( having just come out of a time machine) in the current apathetic , apolitical pop culture we have now...imagine him chanting "This is a punk revolution!" while the disengaged, facebook obsessed , playstation, reality tv show loving youth of today scratch their heads in confusion..would be brilliantly funny..

      I remember going to the bizarros concerts late 70s. He was like 40 at the time and not easy to sing while smoking at the same time. Oh Ian Rubbish, such a legend punk rocker. Joe Strummer imitated him later on, in past tense.

    I'm about 83% sure there was nothing wrong with that guitar or the amp. It was either on standby or one the volume pots was zero'd.
