- On Wednesday, October 4, #MDFR welcomed into service Rescue 61 during a traditional truck push-in ceremony at Trail Fire Station 61.
This ceremony has a longstanding tradition dating back to the late 1800s, when fire engines were pulled by horses. Whenever a new unit was brought to the station, the community would gather along with the firefighters to push the new unit into the station.
Rescue 61 is a three-person rescue unit that joins the existing suppression unit at the station and will strengthen MDFR's response and transport capabilities in the southwest area of Miami-Dade County.
