The girl who played the maid often played his girlfriend in many episodes Matilda Ziegler is her name I worked with her in Australia in a theatre production An Inspector Calls with her then fiancé now husband Louis Hilyer. I introduced the two of them to AFL and they went to the biggest game 1995 ANZAC Day match a crowd of 90000+ Lovely lady very supportive and encouraging
Wow! I always remember her whenever she crops up in stuff as Kathy Beales daughter in Eastenders.

What's always funny about Mr Bean is just the process of how he gets out of a difficult situation or how he gets into a difficult situation.
When watching Rowan Atkinson I still think of him in "not the nine o'clock news"
Watching him in Blackadder and Mr Bean proves how much of an all rounder in every style of comedy , that was truly accomplished via Rowans Talents .
He really is the master of silent comedy, so many good ones to watch, a favorite of mine is the one where he decorates his flat, also when he cooks christmas dinner
You should react to the opening of the London Olympics with James bond and the Queen.
Maybe you should try Blackadder Goes Forth. Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Tony Robinson are brilliant in that series.

To the question about Breaking Character: Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean) actually has a record of *never* breaking character while the camera is on.
I loved mr bean as a kid, an looking at this video, the acting is unreal. Rowan is incredibly talented!
This is the sort of thing that happens at the end of Royal Variety shows, and when they're broadcast on tv there would be an announcer telling the audience what's going on, who the people are and so on. The "narrator" at the beginning of the clip is the tv announcer.
Sending you a toilet roll holder is just perfect. I was at Wetherspoons recently (a chain of cheap pubs) and my friend put our table number on Facebook asking people to buy her drinks through the app. She got sent glasses of milk, portions of peas, and a thing of gravy.
Why? It is just weird

Granted he doesn't speak a lot, but still.
Enjoy watching Mr bean with my grandkids. Favourites are the car park, decorating his flat and the swimming pool. Many more though.
Here in Brazil, we were introduced to Mr Bean with this and the exam sketch, which for some reason were included before Top Gang 1 and 2 in the theaters.
Somewhat like in the 40s cartoons were shown before movies.

Mr bean was hugely popular globally as he rarely spoke so it didnt require translating, also physical comedy appeals to all age groups

Loose Change, Pub Beer Mats, Photos of Roads with Rude double Meanings, Jars of Scots~Mist, a Tourists Guide to Milton Keynes, VHS copies of Coronation Street/Eastenders, current list of the best Roundabouts in England, Wuppie Cushion, Argos Christmas Catalogue, Life supply of Mushy Peas. 'The Rest of the Toilet Roll Holder!'. Hold on, atleast two of those mentioned have already been received. Hilarious.
No doubt that particular scene did end like that. Each episode wouldn't have a single plot or anything, but a series (I think usually 3) of self contained skits of around 10 minutes where Bean is in a specific place or situation. Like attending church, visiting the beach, waiting for a bus or packing for a holiday etc, but they would usually have nothing to do with each other within each episode I don't think.
That was one of his best scenes ,head butting the poor queen mother 😂

If you love Rowan Atkinson, I highly recommend checking out blackadder. I would suggest that you avoid the first series though. Blackadder goes fourth is my favourite
I agree, Blackadder is miles better than Mr Bean. Rowan Atkinson on 'Not the 9 o'clock news' is also funnier.

@@generichuman2044 I love the fact that his character is known literally everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if people in North Korea have seen some episodes. I don’t think there’s been someone as widely known as Mr. Bean since Charlie Chaplin, that’s an amazing achievement. It’s because the character is so accessible, it doesn’t matter what language you speak, Mr. Bean barely speaks, the comedy is just visual, so it works everywhere.
I like Blackadder but it's very different.
I hope new generation wouldnt forget mrbean cause he is a legend. He made my childhood 10 times better
He said in a documentary about him playing Mr Bean that when he went abroad that it was like being a famous rock star when he was mobbed by crowds & had to be escorted to and from the stores by bodyguards
Fun fact: it was intended that Mr bean was meeting the queen mother. But everyone assumes it is the queen. There was a documentary for mr bean last year whee it was revealed.
The voice over was part of the skit. It was Rowan Atkinson who playes Mr Bean who did it.

Bean do talk but it is usually only a word here or there. Never really a full sentence. The only time I remember him speaking a sentence is when he is at an adult class to take a trigonometry test. He says I have concentrated on trigonometry. That is the longest sentence I have ever heard Mr Bean say.

I bet this video you have written about is produced and aired by the BBC because almost every reaction channel i have watched so far have at least once complained about how relentless, extremely strict, merciless and also very fast the BBC usually hit every one who is using their material with a hard copyright strike
@Tim Glennon. I put a comment on yesterday saying twins, after the shirts matched, then the video you mentioned appeared but would not open today. It seemed really weird.
@@PPfilmemacher It wasn't bbc it was another youtube channel. The other channel may have claimed copyright still. Also for some reason some people were leaving negative feedback so that might be why.

A couple of Scottish comedy shows that you might want to check out... "Still Game" and "Chewin the fat". Still Game is a sitcom that's really good, Chewin the fat is a sketch show that was it's predecessor. There are some amazing sketches but sometimes the language might be tricky

Rowan Atkinson is a legend
Mr Bean was very popular back in the mid 90s and I remember finding it very funny when I was a child. Lots of people still remember the character and from time to time you see Rowan Atkinson play the in adverts and things like that.
This sort of slapstick comedy is less popular in the UK nowadays, I don't think sophisticated is the right term but we've definitely moved in a different direction. I think the US follows the same comedy trends as the UK but lags maybe 10-15 years behind.
This might come off as pretentious or condescending but I don't mean it like that or that there's anything wrong with slapstick. If you look at the US adaptations of UK TV series you can see the difference, US comedy is more direct and obvious than in the UK.
In terms of the PO box openings most other channels tend to do a separate video for them but it depends what works the best for you two.

I’m gonna throw this in here but go watch Monty pythons and the holy grail, most impressive thing about it is at the time they had a budget of £250,000 to make that film but it captures a lot of British humour and is worth a watch
