To anyone that lives in the sycamore dekalb area I can guarantee this was our twister moment multiple tornadoes over multiple counties it was a nightmare for a good 30-40 minutes

Tornadoes are completely random. @ 3:13 you can see the entire pole barn ripped apart. But at the bottom of the screen you can still see the garden hose rolled up. Everything is completely destroyed, and 1 item is like it has barely been touched. I just seen a tornado hit White Lake MI 2 weeks ago. I went and seen 1 house and all of it's trees completely wiped out. The house behind it had the trees wiped out, but the house was untouched. Not a scratch! 🤔

This happened only a few streets from my house,I was in the car when the sirens went off.
I think this was one of the scariest moments of my entire existence.
The second we got where we were going I ran into the bathroom.
I remember trying to call everyone I could think of for reassurance but no one picked up!

When I think of a tornado the funnel at 1:36 is what I always pictured. That is what the funnel that killed my cousin in 1974 in Ohio looked like. All that changed in in 1997 in Jarrell, Tx.
And that changed in 1999 in Moore Ok, and everything anyone ever knew about tornadoes changed again in 2013,

So actually my family members where going to Mexico because they came hére and there was the Tornado Warning and they were going to airport O’Hare and there was a tornado there but there ok now there in Mexico
I live in dekalb I was 10 at the time we went storm chasing because we got a tornado warning and I though oh cool. So we get in the car and we drive to route 64 or something 64 and we stop and see the first tornado we really didn't see anything so we end up going back home but my uncle he saw the creston tornado so we went and stopped at a farm and that was the first time I saw a real tornado and 10 minutes later we head back to dekalb blah blah blah and then we get the sirens blaring and me and my mom and uncle and sister went storm chasing again and we saw the sycamore tornado.... It looked like a ef2 or ef1 but I didn't realize the horror I was about to experience.... So we see the tornado and I'm like woah and my mom and uncle are panicking and my mom and my mom tells me like the tornado is by your grandma's your great grandma's house and I was like what great grandma and I was like Grandma Herrmann and she was like Grandma Herrmann so I was freaking out my sister was crying my mom got a hold of her she told her that the tornadoes right down the road and she was killing peaches and my grandma she went outside and she was like yep there it is it was crossing the road and it wasn't that far away from her luckily it didn't like hit hit her or anything but a few farms were damaged and yeah it was a rough time some of the debris is still in the field I think in the fields I think and it just really scared me now that I'm like 11 now it's really hard to like forget the sirens that day and it really freaked me out and it was very cool I just can't block out the sirens the first ever time I saw a tornado was it was fading away and it was back in 2019 and this tornado was in 2021 and it really freaked me out and this just really scared me and I I was just freaked out luckily no one was hurt I don't think I think a few people died I don't know I just don't know and yeah that's pretty much it. So why do these people chase storms again. Theres radar and all types of stuff. They really dont do anything and just risk injury and death. Weve seen storms. We know what they look like

Some of the best information is still obtained by eyes on the ground. Especially for bigger storms, chasers are very good at tracking them and calling them into news and emergency lines to let folks know the path and actual intensity of the storm
