    I would say, if two mirrors are placed parallel to each other, the angle becomes 0 and the formula that you told us is n=(360/theta)-1, nevertheless, in this case theta is 0 and it seems undefined. But when I try this, there are images that are formed and it dawns on me that this is a kind of problem that CALCULUS solves. Therefore, as the angles APPROACHES to 0, the number of images formed
    Is gonna be INFINITY. The answer is INFINITY.
    THANKS FOR THIS MIND BLOWING QUERY.

    7:48 this works for the 90° mirrors, but when I draw the rays for mirrors inclined at 120°, I get a 3rd (hidden) image, which should appear if the object is moved off the bisector-so slightly asymmetrical to the mirrors. And that third reflection is way far away! Anyway, hopefully I did it all correctly.

      Something / 0 does not give a fixed value as the result of the operation, but the fact remains that the value we obtain will be extremely large (this can be predicted by substituting 0 by numbers close to 0 such as 0.1, 0.01, .... and so on. In short, no matter the value, it will be extremely large i.e. infinity, what is not defined is something like 0/0

    Infinite images are formed. The incident ray of the object strikes the first mirror and then reflects it back to the second mirror and vice versa. The continuotion process of this results in the infinite number of images formed.

    N = 360°/72 = 5 , N Is odd so there will be only 5 images ! But you said it will be 5-1 = 4
    Solve my doubt sir! 🙏 (Is there problem of symmetric or asymmetric?

    • @Mathematics-lo2hs
      @Mathematics-lo2hs 18 днів тому

      There would be 5 images if the object is kept asymmetrically but if the object kept symmetrically then 4 images will be formed. I guess this is because the last image formed coincides in the second case and there is a double counting in that case so we subtract the 1 to get the right answer. Remember I wass talking about when N is odd.

    When an object is kept between two parellel plane mirrors facing each other i.e 0°, infinite number of images will be seen. THEORITICALLY IT IS TRUE BUT IN ACTUAL PRACTISE ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF IMAGES ARE FORMED. THIS INFINITE IMAGES IS BECAUSE SOME LIGHT GETS ABSORBED BY THE MIRRORS DURING EACH REFLECTION. THE IMAGES ARE SO SMALL THAT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE IT.

    I would say the only thing wrong with the logic between the dice is with your math where you rounded down or got rid of the decimal
    I Would be only rounding down to wholes or .5 because the dice themselves can replace halves and or wholes with the mirrors colliding

    The images formed by an object placed btwn 2 parallel mirrors will be 2
    I think it's becoz the object will be obstructing reflection from either images formed to reach the other mirror.

    Sir one teacher said that if we find the no. of images and if we get the answer in even then we need to subtract 1 from the even no. Nd if we get the no. of images in odd so there are two cases if object is placed symmetrically then we need to subtract 1 and if obj is not symmetrically (asymmetrically) placed then there is no need to subtract 1 from the odd no. .....is it correct sir ??

    • @EmpyreanLightASMR
      @EmpyreanLightASMR 4 місяці тому

      I think that's correct. If you draw the ray traces on paper, for example for 120° inclined mirrors, the object symmetrically will be 2 images. 360/120 - 1 = 2.
      but if you keep following the reflections, you'll see a 3rd image forming in the distance behind the mirrors, which isnt visible until the object is moved off the bisector. I do not know if the width/thickness of the object affects this. I would need real mirrors to try it out!
