i came up with this strategy for the deck a few months ago and it works really good... the feeling of swapping drakes for jin itaxias tidespout tyrant and such other creatures is great....you really have to be careful though because you will be targeted for having this much value and you will need tons of mana to deal with three opponents. in my opinion you'll need a little bit more ramp and commander protection in the form of greaves or boots, but otherwise this is a perfect budget decklist for talrand. kudos guys!
Thanks for the kind words, yeah Jin-Gitaxiaxs is a super powerful cards which would have made the cut if not for the pricecard. We found that having counterspells mitigates the lack of hexproof protection as it also stops people from using boardwipes to destroy your sweet recently polymorphed board. But yeah when 3 people start targeting you with everything it will get difficult.
wash out is one of the best budget global for this deck, being only useless on a scenario that there are only mono blue commanders, which in my opinion is a very hard situation to occur....
Talrand by himself is a finisher, you cast spells, produce flyers and push some damage to them. In my deck i use with equality draws And counters And some creatures but you dont need to much, Just using creatures with recurrences of spells.
For blocking too. A problema maybe early game with krenko or goblins, but If you Control the correct things, they give up. The secret of Control is continue playing even If you have 1 life. The next draw makes you Win.
I built a talarand edh deck. Easiest thing I’ve ever done lol. I tried to put as many wizards and counterspelles and mind control magic I could. Really really fun play style. I suggest it if you like people calling you gay for running mono blue in edh. Lol

Welcome back Ruud. Great to see the original team back together again. The new video format is great. Very informative deck techs as normal.
We'll pass this on to Ruud so he co-hosts more often ;).
This looks like an amazing deck. It seems very consistent, and interactive. Very cool.
Thanks Drewbe! It does play very smoothly.
Damn, this deck sounds fun as hell. You guys are probably my favorite MTG channel ever.
Thanks that means a lot!
It feels like my birthday :) Welcome back, The Bald Guy! #thebaldguynation
I have passed on the compliment! :D
although I typically don't like blue, this looks kinda neat. murmuring mystic is an especially good boi
Well if you don't like playing counter spells you won't like this deck, but winning with tones of 2/2 flyers is always fun!
Awesome format of explanation. Really like the new format and the deck also!
Happy to hear that!
Love the video format!
Thanks Daniel!
This deck looks fantastic! Would you consider a upgrade video to this at all?
Hi Chirs, we have non-budget upgrade suggestions at the end of the video. If you replace all those cards it would be our idea of an upgraded deck.
Great video as always guys. Recently getting back into playing magic again.. this deck is being instantly bought 👌👍
Happy you like it Karl!
Thank you for the Mass Polymorph and Synthetic Destiny strategy. These cards are going in a couple of decks.
They can indeed change the course of the game by themselves.
yes. deadeye navigator, palinchron, and a mana dump creatures
It isn't really a budget card, but I highly recommend Venser's Journal for decks like this.
As always, a remarkable job done here!
This deck looks really sweet! And it's so cheap - awesome!
Nice deck tech.👌 You should expand on the non budget cards at the end of the video
Thanks for the video. So many good budget options I haven't thought of.
Happy to help!
I love the new format
Thanks! Happy to hear that!

Great Work. Its nice to see Root back...and kindly correct my spelling if I get i wrong David.
Thanks! Ruud appreciates the kind words ;).
Any chance of a Balthor the Defiled? Several older ones, but curious your take with so many new options.
Interesting commander indeed. We'll add it to our to-do list ;).
Heeeeyy Ruudjeee! Nice video mah man!
Ayye, the goat is back
This deck is really strong, even budget or not. My talrand is my favorite CMD deck And when i use, players make a bad face with reason.
And that is how it should be... What do you think of Baral, Chief of Compliance?
@@BudgetMTGDecks baral is Nice!!! But i preffer talrand. Baral should be in 99.

Gitrog Monster!
It's coming real soon!
Where is spellbook and Reliquary tower
Neither is $1 or less so could not be included.
Could you make a wolf deck
Which commander would work well as wolf tribal?
Cool af
Love
Baby come back 😢
Too bad I’m gonna have to buy like 30 full art snow covered islands which will cost more than the deck lmao
Why do you have to buy those lands?
Budget MTG Decks well that’s just a silly question
@@MuchTub3 Oh right, sorry about that... don't know what we were thinking ;).
Is it just me or. Are there much dutch people on this channel
