The main thing to remember on harder settings 1 never use synths you'll need a great team and communication. 2 clear time isn't important play safe. 3 Gear up put a great build together....and don't bring a flamer to a gunfight as you may well make your team fall over real fast
Heavy flamer can do a whole lot of work on high difficulties. You just need to deploy it very carefully. Demo always needs to switch to his rifle if he's turning towards his teammates, and the teammates need to respect the flamer's assigned field of fire. Generally you want the demo in front, standing in either Tech coils or a suppression station.
@@wtfronsson demolisher is a very tough class to play at later levels but when played correctly is amazing most times through their abilities... they are there for add clear and knockdown and I would say if possible it's better not to have a heavy weapon on them as it can just knock off too much health even with one error...but all down to team composition a gunner for me is very much key for easily taking out the big elites and technician demolisher etc for mopping up adds.....Heavy flamer can be absolutely amazing in the right hands its just tough on enclosed maps and the player needs great situational awareness
For real. Matchmaking has been improved and I haven’t been dropped from games as much recently, it’s still not where it should be. It still takes 5-10 min to match with 2 other people
I attempted the "Complete One Mission On Extreme" challenge yesterday. It was bonkers. Tried the first mission multiple times with multiple teams, loadouts and some of the suggested cards. As soon as we got to the part where the first warrior shows up it was game over man. Absolutely ludicrous. Plus there were more spots where aliens would show up along the way than in the lower difficulties. It sucks that on the PC voice communication isn't integrated into the game. Such an oversight in a team based game.
Wow I did not know that that's gonna be so tough doing these missions without communication would literally make it even more difficult as most times your setting up before each situation and getting ready to focus on 1 target etc....after more playtime I would say Doc with a nice damage set up and fast pick ups and unable to be knocked out of pick ups with the overshield and technician and a gunner should definitely make that first mission viable with human tanks on..Gunner is key for damage....But like you said if you cant communicate phew that's gonna go wrong real fast
anything over intense if your team is not good at communication it will be truly difficult...that single card though that doubles health is most probably the best card in the game to help people that are struggling on certain levels
It's not easy, but you can do intense with the bots. I do it with the technician, but I don't fight out in the open. I pick corners and hallways to funnel them in. Luring the bots back is the trick. But the last stage on the second mission can't be done with out people. You get swarmed by too many elite synths
Strange tip I think i might have found this morning at like 430a... I just decided to try it, and it SEEMED (anecdotal so take with a pinch of salt) to work EVERY time.... I wanted them to go into a hallway with me instead of shoot a far off trash mob? I turned towards the hallway, pinged the doors, and they would BOTH start running towards it. It also seemed to work to focus their fire... even on trash mobs, not just bigguns... Give it a try, let me know if you have any success too?
Managed to beat Extreme last night for the first time due to getting lucky and being in a good team. Tried Insane and got murdered from the first batch of Aliens. Madness.
Just beat the game on extreme - we used technition, gunner, and recon - challenge card was the one with double health, i used the stock shotgun, and the m42 rifle - drone, and electro turrent, was wayyy easier when we stopped trying to fight them head on, stay in the hallways and have one person bait them back to you , honestly only the last 3 levels were hard on extreme. we gonna beat Insane when we have time. we beat most the missions with 2 gunners and technition but the last 3 levels we had to switch tactics
Just my opinion here, but I would put 35% weapon damage as number one. Reasoning is that it is so easy to get swarmed at higher difficulties. And like you said, there are so few First Aid kits. So having a higher health pool is great, until you no longer have the resources to replenish that health bar. But if you can kill the targets faster, there are less enemies that will make it to you and the damage they might have done is dealt with. As well it sets up up to create more openings to retreat to. It is obviously a double edge sword as a single mistake involving a flame thrower can wipe the group, but again let's chance for combat to devolve into a scramble when you are keeping the numbers down.
Can definitely work once your team has perfect co-ordination offense is generally the best defense it will just take a lot of practice and skill to do =)
The game is tough on extreme and insane as you need a really good team that works together than trying to kill as much enermies while getting in the way, need to have max combat rating (710), a good card to support and you need to know the exploits on the game like the retreat point where you need a teammate to stay behind the door that locks when all players go through but its a challenge when you get a spot where everyone's required to go through the door which complicate the strategy. Plus there is a glitch on mission 4.1 in the final area where the xenos can't get you which does help on that level but thats the only one in the game thats simple to do.
Personally team comp wise i think best is gunner flame-technician demo on 100% xeno levels. Gunner nonflamer-tech recon for synth levels. Technicians charge coil is the best crowd control ability in the game imo.
when i made the vid the cooldown on the coils could not be reduced that was a big downfall...its been fixed now definitely making it best cc especially nice when paired with 25% reduced damage just incase
Completed extreme. Just me and my friend with an ai every mission. He ran gunner i ran demo. Both of us use the pathogen dlc ability modifiers.
