Me to but I don’t like love triangles those are so frustrating I also don’t like insta-love like how do you look at a person and just fall in love instantly
I’m also not a fan Of love triangles they are so frustrating and most of the time the person I want the main character to end up with he or she never does and that frustrates me
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "favorite romance novels" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Foonatah Omnipresent Magnification - (should be on google have a look ) It is an awesome exclusive product for making any man fall deeply in love with you minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my work colleague got great success with it.
I love enemies to lovers but it has to be done right. I’m a slow burn (but not too slow) kinda gal lol. Good boy/good girl & good girl/bad boy are my favs too. And I know this wasn’t mentioned but I love books with a cute family aspect in it too idk why it just adds so much depth!
-enemies to lovers (leaning towards frenemies to lovers) -slow burn -sexual tension -angst -them being really annoyed that they actually like each other like holy shit that's hot I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND BUT I *NEED* ALL THESE IN ONE BOOK.
Laura you need to need Cora Reilly's Mafia books. I used to push the mafia books to the side too but then Cora changed my life lol The Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles (7 books) The Camorra Chronicles. (5 books) Sweet Temptation They have so many other tropes involved. Enemies to lovers. Age gape. Arranged Marriage. If you liked The Italian you will love Cora's books.
I never knew I would become fascinated with mafia books until I read Bound by honour.Every single of her books are so amazing and I cant let go of it until I finishef.
I'm gonna rank them here bc I'm bored lol Fave to least fave: Enemies to lovers Good girl/bad boy Royalty Forbidden love Fake dating Best friends brother Stuck together Friends to lovers Workplace romance Billionaire Good boy/bad girl Second chance love One of them is famous Single parent Secret relationship Mafia Arranged marriage Love triangle Age gap Paranormal
I don’t mind enemies to lovers. It just depends on how far along the line of enemies the two people are. Like if it’s just like rivals or friendly rivals, I’m okay with it. But if it’s like one hurt the other in some way, shape, or form, I’ll just say nah and move on.
I've read many many mafia books and Cora Riley is the best. She wrote the mafia chronicles series which also includes arranged marriage. Highly recommend. (Bonus- on kindle unlimited)
omg yes, cora reiley is literally the queen of mafia romance. she’s the best to read when first being introduced to the trope, you just get sucked in from there
I absolutely love single parent books too!! I think I just tend to fall in love with characters more when I see them interact with kids. ‘Show Me the Way’ (the male lead character is the single dad) and ‘ Follow me back’ (the female lead is the single parent) both by A. L. Jackson are sooooo good, and ‘Reckless’ by Lex Martin is a bit more slow burn, but I loved it too!
If you are willing to try to read mafia books you should check born in blood series by Cora Reilly. And after you finish that series, you can continue to read the camorra chronicles series by her. The series follows different italian mafia families living in US. It includes different tropes: arranged marriage, hate to love, forbidden romance, age gap, etc. The first series follows two mafia families that unite in book one due to an arranged marriage. I think you might enjoy the books so much!
The thing I like about forbidden love is that you can literally do anything with it. Your two characters can be from rival clans, rival kingdoms, different species, different planets, literally anything.
Evie Rasing omg yes! Professor/ Student Romance: First Semester Q.B Tyler Temptation Ivy Smoak (4 books actually) Her Perfect Stephie Walls (quite a beautiful book) First Semester by Sarah Fischer Age Gap: Unconditional Q.B Tyler Forbidden by Seven Rue The Stopover by TL Swan Wanting Mr. Cane by Shankar Williams
Omg same, and thanks for the recommendations! I'm writing an age gap right now, and I've been a little discouraged by so many people being so negative about age gaps. It's nice to know that some people like them, besides me. Lol
I’ve got a great recommendation for an arranged marriage book - The Mirror Visitor. I didn’t read it in English, so I’m not ready 100% sure it’s the correct title, but this book is not at all about mafia, and the romance is not the main aspect of the books, it’s just so good, probably one of my favourite series of all time
Hey Laura, this video was so fun and I LOVE your recommendations. Could you make a sport romance recommendation video, similar to The Deal and also a royal recommendation like the selection, LOVE YOUUU
I started with the bay band, singer kinda books and now obsessed with sport guy books 🤤💔 Soo good! Thank u for the video! Have new books to read this summer 😋 if not in a week or a two haha.
love this! we don’t agree on many tropes (single parents or stories with kids are unbearable to me, i cannot read them and avoid them like the plague haha) but this was so fun! thanks for sharing :)
Your God Tier is exactly the same as mine- age gap will always be my number one favourite and I love anything forbidden. Single parent I always find so cute and adorable I love it
my favourites would be forbidden love for sure and in some cases mafia it depends on the character development and backstory or just romances with a dark broody troubled badboy as the main love interest because i mean...who could resist
Hoping to hear your thoughts on Wall of Winnipeg and Me! I loved that book, love the ultra slow-burn! Also for 'mafia', have you read Ruthless People? So well done!
I totally understand what you said about the single parent trope. I mean I've never gone looking for a good single parent romance, but when one of them has a kid the storyline is better. I alway think "and the plot thickens"
The reason why I think forbidden love is absolutely god tier: Often times in romance novels, the conflict arises from the relationship - due to a lot of miscommunication and other issues that make the couple look like they maybe shouldn't be together anyways. But if their love is forbidden, the conflict can come from their surroundings, while they can be absolutely sweet to each other. I just prefer it a lot over frustrating miscommunication and it makes all the longing and yearning much more understandable and real!
I just LOVE age gap and forbidden love (which are usually connected), so here we are similar. Like age gap is something soooo exciting for me and I started "When August ends" because you recommended that. I think there is something in this controversial book that attracts. Can't wait for your book-with-stuck-toogether-motive recommendations. Wish you wonderful day!
Arranged marriage and mafia in one would be the Born In Blood Mafia Chonricles and the Spin-off of that the Camorra chronicles is a MUST read please read it, it's amazing and will have you reading all 12 books in 2 weeks like me
Read J.M. Darhower’s Monster in His Eyes. I pushed it off for a while, but once I read it, I’ve been obsessed with mafia romance because of this novel.
I know the series, which is kind of about arranged marriage: Boys of Bradshaw High the first book and there're two more books in this series. I highly recommend to read this series, soo good.
I'm always a sucker for the forbidden love trope. Whenever it's like a student-teacher relationship book I always wanna read it. I know a lot of people don't find this appropriate but I just love when they try not to give in to the temptation but the attraction is just too strong to resist. I don't know, maybe I'm weird for loving these. 😂
i always liked book where they where focused on the main genre and had little bits of romance in a slow burn kind of way, like in Shadowhunters. The only part i dislkiked about the shadowhunters book series was how its revealed that the main character has a brother who tried to rape her and people ship them now-
single parent especially single fathers is a BIGGG yes for me too god tier all the way. maybe u could do a single parent recommendation?? & if you’re willing to read a mafia book u should try out the Ruthless People series by jj mcavoy. the spin-off series isn’t well done but Ruthless People is really good & have one of the best well-thought out mafia plots.
I totally do taboos, age gap, royalty, billionaire, mafia, good girl bad boy, & stuck together.. i dont have a favorite i just choose what matches my mood
Omg! Someone else who loves age gap relationships!! I so rarely meet people who love that trope as much as I do. If you have any good recs, please send them my way. I'm currently writing a 3-book series that includes an age gap relationship, and a little bit of secret relationship because of that. It's so fun!
Age Gaps & Enemies to Lovers are my favorites. Makes me question my morals but dam they are so good!! 😈 Girl get on Rachel Van Dyken mafia books, I’m telling you’ll be obsessed!! Don’t be intimidated by how many books in the series has. Also I hate love triangles it’s a hard pass for me.
Other issue with love triangle is that they tend to fall into two categories: (a) it is filler to add tension in which case one is clearly just a weak semi-antagonist, or (b) both guys are good, so the female lead comes across as unlikeable since she is playing the field, less satisfying if she gets the guy and less satisfying that the guy gets her.

okay but enemies to lover with a slow burn incorporated hits different
I absolutely love and I mean *LOVE* enemies to lovers

@@damyasimmons3154 I agree. You can feel instantly attracted to someone, but not love at the spot.

Unholy Matrimony on wattpad is a REALLY good arranged marriage book. I finished it in one sitting.
So if there was a book with a college student and professor (forbidden) + (age gap) and the teacher has a kid (single parent) then she would like it.
You need to read Cora Reilly’s mafia series!! They are the best mafia books I have ever read, I highly recommend!!!
I just discovered that I am obsessed with Mafia, Age Gap and workplace romance😍😍😍😍
Scandalous by Lj shen is a really good single parent-age gap romance !!!

okay, we all knew Tessa would end up with Will BUT I genuinely enjoyed that love triangle
What's the name of the book?
Olivia A the infernal devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare... it’s so good you need to read it x
I meannnnn, Ms. Tessa kind of got both of them lmao
Viola true true, looks like immortality is the only way to escape love triangles
i love your videos!!
Hey Laura!
I really love the brother best friend trope, would love to see a recs video for the trope. Love your recommendations!
Friends to lovers is the ONE for me! Especially, if the characters are childhood best friends.
Your God Tier is exactly the same as mine- age gap will always be my number one favourite and I love anything forbidden. Single parent I always find so cute and adorable I love it
Yess! Single parent is god tierrrr
You should do a video where you take recommendations and then read a few books from your “could live without/unreadable” tier. That would be cool!
I so agree with you with the single parent tropes
my favourites would be forbidden love for sure and in some cases mafia it depends on the character development and backstory or just romances with a dark broody troubled badboy as the main love interest because i mean...who could resist
Ok read bound by honor by Cora Reilly the best

The Kiss Thief by LJ Shen is an arranged marriage book which I definitely recommend

I read one really good book about arranged marriage. It is on app Dreame and the title is Marrying the CEO by Kimi L. Davis.
Laura please do some vlogs or reading challenges.

Laura you need to read ENJÒYING THE CHASE- KIRSTY MOSELEY it's a single parent and THE BEST, so check it out if you haven't already
My god tier will always be mafia romance, bad boy/good girl, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, and bestfriends to lovers (also billionnaire)
Age gap is my favorite trope, actually I found your UA-cam channel because I was looking for recommendations
If any of you want some good love triangle i recommended The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. thats the only love triangle that i love.
Can you do a video about royalty books
