And as a human we all crave for praise from society. We all want people to praise our goods. It will need a lot of practice to purify our heart from human desires and do things for the sake of Almighty (SWT)
But you can't see Allah can't you? At the same time you have to fear him Obviously you don't have to fear your parents because you love them. I got good grades and my mom praised me for it and it makes me happy. Why would someone get punished for that? Don't we all have the chemistry of showing off without arrogance?
I was just doing salah and some thoughts came into my mind how people will be impressed by my recitation because I was performing a good recitation. And then I suddenly realised this is minor shirk and that thought could be from shaitan. And then I came across this video. Alhamdulillah, I am sure now Allah guided me to the straight path and made me realise my mistake. Naudhu Billah.
Im a struggling muslim. At the core, i understand the message of this, to purify and set one's intentions clearly. But i dont know, humans around us are going to know/notice what we do, good or bad. It is going to affect their perception of us, and thus affect our own perception too, no matter how strong willed we are to be and do purely for Allah. If one did good but it doesnt count to anything and get sent to hell, it's like: "Damned if you do, damned if you dont" And i am aware that Ive been needing help with understanding faith for a while now 🌧 im in my early 20s and it has just been so confusing
Understand that: before you do anything make sure your intention deep in your heart is for Allah. All you have to do is resist the temptation the desire of showing off. Pray a lot to purify your heart. You will struggle sometimes you win sometimes you fail. Try your best not to talk about your deeds. Think always about your sins i think it will help. Allah is merciful when he see your sincere trials he will help you. Just ask him all the time.
I agree with the original poster. Honestly, follow your heart and remember you are not obliged to agree with everything a scholar say even if you have high regards of him and respect him. if what he teaches doesn't sit well in your heart, keep searching for an answer (but don't be biased). At the end of the day, this is only the scholar's effort and what he probably thought was important to share with the community right now (even though I respectfully disagree in this case. As the information he shared is sensitive and can easily be misunderstood).
I agree with you and the person talking in the video brother / sister I think this video is just trying to ask you to be careful about your intentions, in my opinion, when you plan to do the deed first then your intention has to be for Allah, and if you can’t do the deed secretly, then I think it’s okay that people will be cheering for you..But either way we should try to do our deeds secretly when we can, for the Hafidh, they can memorize at home alone, because then there is no way the intention is for someone else. The Shaheed couldn’t fight in secret, true, but personally people cheering for you isn’t worth risking your life. And the Generous can always give out his money in secret to one individual at a time, or they can give their money to charity organizations anonymously Idk if what I said makes sense but that’s my opinion
Well its about the intention. Its confusing at the face but very simple. Say I read the quran in the masjid. I could have read it at my house but chose to read at the masjid. I can make the intention that I'm doing it for peace of mind. There is a second benefit to it. That my friend will notice me. But my intention isn't that. And don't make it that. Its like doing a hobby with intention of enjoying it. But making some money off it. You are not painting for money. You paint for fun but then just auction them to get some money. The goal there is fun and not money. Its a similar situation here. If you ever feel like you did something with wrong intention then ask for forgiveness. We can't always be selfless and humble. So don't get paranoid on every good deed
Yes you can, but with the good niyat (intention), good behaviour when you tell them, i mean no arrogant or show off tone. Sure we can, tell our beloved ones, specially family, but we must remember not to overboard when tell our friends
@@yogi8337 Nah honestly you should keep your good deeds between you and Allah if you want to tell them so you encourage them to do something like that then it's ok but if you are just doing it out of showing off it's not good. @@gdog8170 Yeah, and i would suggest to try to make it not obvious as possible that you're gonna do that deed. When asking questions, try to make it general, that way it's unclear if you're gonna do it or not therefore keeping it between you and Allah SWT 👍
Mashallah thank you for the video, but I have 2 questions. 1) What if you're not sure whether you deep down want to do it for Allah or others? What if you think you're doing something out of the goodness of your heart, and you have no idea that a little part of you inside was kind of doing it for others and convincing you that it was all sincere? Or is there no such thing? Does this only count for people who 100% know that they're doing it for others and are lying through their teeth knowingly? I would like to know when your niyyah counts as impure and when it doesn't. 2) Let's say I plan on doing something good, such as donating food, for example (and I had to do it in public not private) and I realise before I donate that food that in my heart my niyyah is slightly to show others how "generous" I am, and then I try to change my niyyah to make it pure, try to convince myself to do this only for Allah, and it doesn't work. I still know deep down that I'm slightly doing it so I can show off and my niyyah isn't pure. Does this mean that I should NOT do the good deed, in order to avoid any chance of minor shirk? Jazakum Allahu Khayran in advance. :)
Very scary hadith brother. Basically we should not only hide our sins or others sins but we should also hide our good deeds and acts of worship. I need to be very careful now. May Allah protect us all 😢
No wonder whenever i see or want to help people, someone or something i've always have this feeling "do you want to that for the sake of Allah or just for the people to see you do it?" I was like stuck most of time there. To this day, i only help people anonymously when no one is around looking. Unless it was a life and death situations or emergency, then don't think twice, just go.

As long as you didnt do it for the intention of showing off and did it for Allah’s sake. then it dont matter wether people see you are or not. Try your best to avoid showing off and deeds being seen by people.
