THANK YOU! THANKYOU! THANK YOU!!!! this worked. it runs now. saved us $100 service visit, and much anxiety (worrying that it was time for new machine). only difficulty is that even after bailing out all the visible water in the drum, and then tilting back as far as possible...still got a couple of cups of very stinky water all over the place. small inconvenience compared to the fantastic advice & fix.

This resolve my issue. Somehow a sock got sucked in and caught in the drain trap. Has 3 T20 Torx screws and repaired the job in 15mins. Took longer to clean the water coming out of the drain trap.

This is 9 years late but I just used a T20 torx bit, fit perfectly to take those theee screws out. Also a 7mm socket would work since the screws have that size hex head too.

Awesome fix it video! I found gunk in the drainage hose and cleaned it out, but the washer was still not draining properly and kept getting the "F-02" error. My wife found this video while I was at work and jumped me right when I walked in the door. This was exactly the issue...got it all cleaned out and we are rolling. Too bad the Kenmore manual or their website doesn't share this simple troubleshooting fix. I know...they want you to either call their repair guy or buy a new one...not! Thanks again!

great info. i checked my trap and it wasn't that dirty or clogged. i was a little sad because it thought that was not the problem. i got a flashlight and looked into the tube that brings the water to the trap and is saw a little sock that was from one of my many kids. this made me very happy because this was the problem and it was a easy fix!!! if you have kids, their socks are perfect for getting sucked into the drain tube and trap. so if your trap is not clogged, be sure to check the drain tube. thank you to cbozy! i fixed my washer in 5 minuets and spend no $$$$!!!!

If clearing the drain trap doesn't fix it, take a close look at the rubber boot hose that connects it to the washer barrel. Inside it is a floating ball mechanism with a hole next to it that has potential to get clogged with lint or a sock. If the hose collapses while the pump is running, that's a sign it's clogged. It unclamps at both ends with a channel lock or pliers, and can be replaced, or you may be able to open just the upper end and clear it out.

Same here...very helpful video! My coin trap was clean. Removed the pump assembly and removed the pump/motor from the housing and a small plastic piece of plastic fell out. It was from my wife's fuckin hair clip lodged into the impeller locking up the pump. Perform this operation before you order a new pump, it might save you some cash.

I'm not sure, I wonder if maybe there is something further up the pipe where you take the trap part off. That is all I can think of.... I would remove the trap and maybe use a piece of wire or something to snake up the drain pipe and see if there is something jamming it further up. Let me know if you find out in case it happens to mine I would like to know how to fix it.

My drain strainer/ filter was not clogged, but stopped draining. I didn't have socks,, wrenches, coins nothing, just a little scum on the walls of the tube. Going to put it back together and see what happens
