Not necessarily Korean church experience, just any church can do it. I'm not religious, but when i had a very hard time i went to a catholic church nearby and just sat on the last row observing. I started crying because of the difference between the broken world inside me and the beautiful music and peace around. Best scene ever, undoubtedly. I feel like i was spied on.

Thinking about past experiences, lost ones, just life itself.
Everyone is so busy Monday thru Saturday with life, when Sunday comes , its time to reflect and release, and church provides that space to talk to God ( in your head of course) and let it all out and soak in the grace of God.

So RAW… We sing this song in our church it moves me to pieces. I think about how I felt the same way he did when I first heard it. Takes me back to that moment.
I felt his presence👏👏👏 Well done Handyman 😅 praise worthy

Look at my boy Steven getting shine as he should!!! This scene was immaculate - give him the Emmy!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Update: it’s with a heavy heart that I can no longer support the previous statement above nor the show. It’s because of the actor David Choe who played the cousin, what he said and how that negatively affects the black community especially black women and the fact that the show runners and actors knew about it.
As a black woman I can’t support a person who makes those kind of “jokes” about people like me especially since I and many other have had that “joke” happen to us. Nor can I support a show who promotes and tries to elevate him. Throughly disappointing.

The scene was relatable, I was moved by the scene. I had some moments like this, going to church and simply praying or hearing the silence like someone is talking to me. There are times we just needed that moment of releasing our emotions and felt good afterward.

Lmao the Korean Church basketball league scene was hilariously accurate. Those leagues go hard af.

I am Filipino and got invited by my Korean friend to play in the Korean Church League. I was in a fast break and went for a lay up, the guy chasing me down straight up pushed me into the bleacher seats behind the basket…didn’t even try to block my shot ala Lebron. Hard af for real! He apologized after the game.

It’s honestly how it is. You hit this point in your life where you can’t see the next step, the ending point, living at the end of the tunnel. Somehow you end up in this place you normally won’t not sure why or how you got there and then bam, you’re met with who God really is. Not what people have said, what the church made Him to be, what the government made him to be, but who HE introduces Himself to you personally. And that is so overwhelming but releasing

I’ve felt this overwhelming joy, peace, despair, calm and gratefulness at times when I church. When the lyrics hit my heart, the pastor preaches uplifting words. When you’re feeling angst and the church feeling just takes over. It’s such a powerful, palpable feeling of release.
I love how accurate they made this scene in the show Beef
