I love it when you do these vids Tony as they're very funny. I think some of those bad reviewers must walk around with their eyes shut as Edinburgh is such a beautiful city and Calton Hill is spectacular.
People complaining about the weather reminds me of an old Billy Connolly bit where he said, "People tell me they went to Scotland and it rained. 'Of course it ****ing rained!!" Rain or sun, it looks pretty amazing to me!
Edinburgh is the most beautiful city on planet Earth. People who can't appreciate that might just clear off to somewhere else. The city will be more fair without them.
😆🤣😆 thanks for the laughs Tony. What are we up here for? All I can see is ground. I'm a photographer and my favourite place to shoot the Edinburgh skyline is from Calton Hill.
Don’t know if some of the reviews weren’t jokes or sarcasm. Beautiful views, monuments and buildings from what I saw in the video. Hope to get there one day. Enjoyed watching this.
You can park up there mate it's ment to just be for disabled badge holders I recommend taxi as you said and people that are fit enough take the stairs or take the smother route but longer way so 3 ways to get up the hill 😉 it's a good place to get ur drone up aswell
Thank for the laugh of the day, Tony 🤣 'Not like the view?! ..look at the New Town, the bridges, Leith..where did you look? What are we up here for, all I can see is ground! How did they not appreciate that view? Look at Edinburgh castle from here! It's a boring, hilly-hill' I love Calton Hill, a stupendous 'new view' of Edinburgh, that is not from the Castle or Arthur's Seat 💙 hello from Denmark 🌸🌱
If Calton Hill could speak I wonder how it would review these reviewers. “Just enjoying my view, talking to my mate the castle one day, when a few muppets started climbing me…”
When I was in Edinburgh in August this year and I went up Calton Hill it was pouring down and I was really winded when I reached the top (not being on the slim side). But even in the rain I could see the Forth, the Castle and Easter Road Stadium (walked there in the rain too). So really cannot understand the bad reviews but now had a good laugh with you commenting on them.
We loved the walk up Calton Hill and the view. We were there last September and I had recently recovered from a knee injury. I was so happy to be able to do the walk (and my knee survived!) as I knew Arthur's Seat was not achievable for me at that point. Beautiful clear day. Lovely view.
Graveyards are full of people who'd love to be able to stand on Calton Hill in the rain... Not been up that hill for a fair while, must do so again some time. It was great up there way back during the partial eclipse, was very impressed with just how many made the effort to get the views.
These people have all gone up the steep side. It's really steep. I have M.E. and wasn't expecting that climb. However, I did enjoy the view very much. If you visit and you're not fit, it's best going up the steps from the A1, rather than Royal Terrace. That's my preferred route now. Plus you might get parked for free on a Saturday.
I LOVED it, , but then, I had the place all to myself. I'm in my 60's, over weight, out of shape, and traveling solo. But I had the place all to myself. A trek up Arthurs Seat the day before, so fresh blisters from my new climbing boots. But I had the place all to myself. My second day with Covid (though didn't know it at the time), made me a bit winded. But I had the place all to myself. I'm a 'sturdy' guy, but the wind pushed me back several times. Felt like my face was being sand blasted, but that was just the hail, or very sharp rain. But I had the place all to myself. The date - Sept 30, '22. The ferries were off. The bins on Prices Street were full of inside-out brolly's (umbrellas). Streets were littered with loose signs and even more than one storefront window glass. St Andrews Square "Closed Due to High Winds' But I had Calton Hill all to myself. And I'm very much looking forward to visiting again, , , even if I have to share it with others
My favourite place to go in Edinburgh. Rain, hail, sleet, or snow I always go to Calton Hill. The views are spectacular ( weather permitting), especially across to ma hame in Fife
There is nothing constructive about these reviews and I hope you don’t take them to heart. Your videos were so helpful preparing me for my first visit to Edinburgh. I loved the city and had a wonderful time. Keep up the good work it is appreciated. Cheers
These comments are beyond words , these views up Carlton Hill are the most beautiful in the world 😮 keep up the good work Tony, we visit regularly and go walking, lovely walks all over Edinburgh.
That hill looks like a great walk to me…and lots of cool stuff at the top! Isn’t the whole point to just enjoy being outside? Looks like an awesome place to check out.
You should do a review of those bad reviews, while full of some nice single malt and give them hell. I would love to see that. The world is turning soft
You can get a cab? Lol I have been standing right where you are standing on my visit and can I say the views were outstanding! And I am not a 'fit' person and the stairs were not an issue. Yes, there are stairs, no mountain climbing necessary 😳 Can't wait to do it again. There are just people who need to complain 🤷🏻♀️ I appreciate the laughs!
How could anyone say there is no view? It's beautiful! I hope one day to be there in person. If you aren't fit find a different way to go. I also don't want Starbucks or a burger joint there when I go.
HiTony it looks beautiful to me, the architecture, views. It does not get much better than this. Maybe I’m easily impressed or the folks with the negative comments think of themselves as intellectual giants but in reality are emotionally dwarfs with lack of aesthetic.
Some visitors better stay in their hotel room. Some visitors better stay in valleys. Some visitors better stay indoors. Some visitors better stay in their birthplace. Edinburgh, and the whole of Scotland are unique because of their spectacular views, the rough weather, their great food. Edinburg will never become Las Edinburgh, or Edinburgh Brava or Edinburgh Del Sol. Go walk up that hill, fighting the cold, the wind, the rain. And get a wee dram once you're in a pub. When you're hungry, eat a haggis. Love it, or book a holiday in your own house. It should have the luxury that a moaner is looking for.
I had to laugh. Who doesn't or wouldn't love Calton Hill? Just silly talk! I like the "disgrace" personally. I think it looks like a great place for a photo opp without the burden of an entire building to keep up with. LOL
Human nature can be very strange indeed impossible to work out their thought process some folks just love to complain once I got over my W. T. F. moment I did find it very amusing
Hi mate I'm comming to Edinburgh for Xmas and new year. I live in Australia and used to live in Edinburgh. I've not lived there for 21 years. Anyway I'm bring my wife and son over my wife is vegetarian and you videos on food the Xmas markets have been awsome. I noticed your better half is also vegetarian. Anyway long story short would love some advice on where to good and also possibly catchup for a meal coffee or beer my treat. Anyway if you could help me out that would b great.
These people are crazy! 🤣🤣 If you are basing your fun and interest of where you are on weather alone, then maybe Scotland should be removed from your bucket list. Weather is so bipolar in Scotland 🤣. If they want food after climbing that "hilly hill" there was a great little pop-up when we were there that had some great sweet treats and drinks (non-alcoholic). No views? Seriously? These people had to have had blinders on! The views on Calton Hill are beautiful! Yes, it was a climb to get up there. Yes, it was tiring climbing that hill. If you need a break, take one. Or take your break when you get to the top and enjoy the view while doing so. Some people.....i just don't get it
lol craft beer if they wanted a beer there's the Black Bull and the good thing about that ITS DOWN HILL no climbing so there is nothing to complain about there as for the views there is nowhere better than Calton hill except The Scotts monument but wait that's a helluva climb too, I just don't get these people
Thank you for the laughs! The views look gorgeous just from this video.
It’s a HILL. I do love your humor and what a great start to the week!!!
I think the last review was tongue in cheek and a back handed compliment as to all the crap that isn't up there!
I love it when you do these vids Tony as they're very funny. I think some of those bad reviewers must walk around with their eyes shut as Edinburgh is such a beautiful city and Calton Hill is spectacular.
I LOVED visiting the hill. The view from the Nelson Monument is outstanding! Thanks for the laughs Tony. 👍❤️
People complaining about the weather reminds me of an old Billy Connolly bit where he said, "People tell me they went to Scotland and it rained. 'Of course it ****ing rained!!" Rain or sun, it looks pretty amazing to me!
Great video! I’m Edinburgh resident and have always loved everything Edinburgh has to offer including the hills 😂 love your humor 😊
Edinburgh is the most beautiful city on planet Earth. People who can't appreciate that might just clear off to somewhere else. The city will be more fair without them.
You made my chuckel the way you said it's a hill you'll get tired walking up
😆🤣😆 thanks for the laughs Tony. What are we up here for? All I can see is ground. I'm a photographer and my favourite place to shoot the Edinburgh skyline is from Calton Hill.
I'm in Edinburgh now thanks to your videos. I was not expecting Edinburgh to be so beautiful!
Despite the economic downturn, I'm so happy😊. I have been earning $ 60,200 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days.
I think I'm blessed because if not I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as expert Charles I think he is the best broker I ever seen
I visited Edinburgh in March this year and this is one of many places in Edinburgh with spectacular views. I was lucky with the weather though 😃
Don’t know if some of the reviews weren’t jokes or sarcasm. Beautiful views, monuments and buildings from what I saw in the video. Hope to get there one day. Enjoyed watching this.
In my humble opinion I think the best views of Edinburgh are from Calton Hill. It’s brilliant up there…. Love it. Thanks for another great video x

😂😂😂😂😂 watch with the sound off and enjoy a master craftsman’s facial expressions! A gem.👏

How can anyone give a bad review to this beautiful place
That hill looks like a great walk to me…and lots of cool stuff at the top! Isn’t the whole point to just enjoy being outside? Looks like an awesome place to check out.

Lol. It's an unfinished Parthenon, not acropolis. 🤣🤣🤣
Totally agree with your indignant comments, Tony. No shortage of numpties in this world. DJ, Starbucks, burger joint? 🤣🤣

Edinburgh Countdown is on... 18 days to go!
How could anyone say there is no view? It's beautiful! I hope one day to be there in person. If you aren't fit find a different way to go. I also don't want Starbucks or a burger joint there when I go.
ahahhaha you made me laugh. I can't wait for my next time in Edinburgh to go up Calton hill!
HiTony it looks beautiful to me, the architecture, views. It does not get much better than this. Maybe I’m easily impressed or the folks with the negative comments think of themselves as intellectual giants but in reality are emotionally dwarfs with lack of aesthetic.
Calton Hill is also a cottaging spot, a little off-the-record info for anyone interested. 😄❤
I cant believe people write such things, what the hell! I LOVED CALTON HILL!!!!! it was one of the highlights of my trip!!
Some visitors better stay in their hotel room. Some visitors better stay in valleys. Some visitors better stay indoors. Some visitors better stay in their birthplace.

I'm giving this video five stars. I love Edinburgh. Calton Hill gives great views.
Love these vides when Tony gets triggered 😂
I climbed it in Aug and wish l had more time there. No complaints, no bad things to say except the fact that it’s in Scotland and I’m not❤️🏴🥰😊
this kind of videos are my favorite!
I went up Arthur's Seat last week, but it was full... So I bottled out and stood on the next highest point. Good enough for me!
Human nature can be very strange indeed impossible to work out their thought process some folks just love to complain once I got over my W. T. F. moment I did find it very amusing
Well done
I don't think the 'Dollop' is too bad.
Fantastic stuff 😂

It’s called calton HILL what are these people expecting 😂
LMAO , ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO TONY 😂 🇨🇦 🏴
I'm visiting Edinburgh in 2025 and I will be coming to see Calton Hill. I think it's amazing and I can't wait to visit
Isn't also FREE. people can be so damn picky
Lovely place especially early just as the sun is coming up
Tony love these. Hilarious ignorance!

Some people just give bad reviews just to be negative
Don`t get upset Tony.Philistines can`t be satisfied.
Anyone who doesn’t think that Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in the world with the best views has rocks in their head
LOL. Bad reviews a result of out-of-shape people not realizing it's a strenuous walk!
🙄People... 😂! 🤷🏻♀️

These people should have went to another country. Almost every beautiful view required effort...100% worth it.
NO VIEWS FROM CALTON HILL? 🤣 WAS THAT PERSON ON CRACK!!! THOSE VIEWS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as my gran used to say if yer bored and expect something else to entertain you, yer a boring person. Bring your own beer and boom box.
