bought my 85 d150 2 years ago ran great for a year then the spark plugs got fouled out, put in a new ignition system with new wiring, runs strong again, put totally new suspension in, 318 only 87,000 on it, no rust holes anywhere, guy i bought it from just used it in the summer for camping trips, favorite vehicle ive ever had
Dude that will be a sweet truck either way you go. Keep it for yourself or flip it. Once the trans is figured out and a good cleaning, she will up and going again.
It's possible you overfilled the transmission if you checked and added level in park. Those Chrysler transmissions usually need to be checked in neutral.
It won't even go into gear anymore im over here scratching my head. It'll show empty and if I put a quart in it check levels, looks good put it in gear, and boom it drains the fluid by spraying out of the dipstick again.
Get thee to a parking place! If you examine the dipstick it will tell you what conditions to meet for measuring the fluid. Amazing that the wheels will both roll and be braked! Go through the carb no matter what you think. And the radiator bubbles; purging of air or exhaust gases?
That is wild!! I've never seen a transmission do that, but I don't make a living as a mechanic either. Even if you have to rebuild or replace the transmission for $500 bucks you got a steal of a deal on that rig.
Got a beautiful 82 d150 prospector with the 225 leaning tower of power it won’t win any drag races but it looks awesome and at car shows it gets more attention than the Chevys and fords because they are there 10 to 1 .
Sounds like it is coasting on a cylinder when it is starting. Need to run a compression test to check see if it has a soft cylinder. Striaght ole truck, $500 great deal.
I can't even check it, it blows all the fluid out even when cold and if I add any at all it immediately blows it back out. Very strange, check out the picture I just posted I just dropped the pan tonight.
Look at the color of what puked out of the radiator. You definitely have trans fluid leaking into your cooling system. Still doesn't explain why it's puking out the dipstick, though, unless you really overfilled it, but as you said, you had and then lost all gears. Weird.
Bang on it with a ranch if it's flooding I will loosen the needle and seat in the carburetor and stop the flooding issue for a temporary fix and also remember that those trucks had that screw initial module up there on the firewall that always goes out but what you can do and there's several videos on this is you can fire it off AGMA initial module you just have to make a little white come out to the GMA initial Michael 2 and there are several videos on how to wire it up that is the best way and outright to cheapest way to fix it because I didn't miss him my huddle from eighties seventies to eighties GM HIM actual fires a lot And more than that little Box and those trucks did as far as hot spark

@@somewhatfast Definitely has some sort of issue probably with the pump if it is doing that type of weird behavior.
@@MattsRageFitGarage The vent hole was plugged with dirtdobberrs is all it was.
@@somewhatfast Crazy how weird stuff can get when not vented!

Never seen it my self, and that is true. To rebuild the trans and a new converter is only $800. Im currently looking for a used one though before.
The vent on a dodge transmission is inside the bell housing you have to remove transmission.
Keep up the good work!
Never dry start a engine without priming the engine with oil.
Na not a problem, I've opened engines that sat for 40 years and the crank bearing still had oil on them.
Set that cold idle.Make sure the heat from the exhaust is circulating on the air intake filter doors.
You should try some Lemon Pepper! Lol Seafoam would be better. :-)
Would like to see more on this truck. You can get er going. I woul dtry changing transmission fluid and screen first.
Working on the trans as we speak. Thanks for watching
Make sure the full 12 volt for ignition is on.before the Resistor block.
Love that truck. That would make a great rolling restoration project.
I don't think it has more than 100k.

Thank you!
Gas gotta get in crank too EGR and PVC.
Check your battery resiter make sure its not messed up n checknfor charging problems
Hold it flat to start it if flooded. Check the auto in neutral warn with the motor idling.

When it boiled over, it looked red in color.
My idea is to bring the radiator to a shop and have it checked.
I found the issue its a strange one. But a cheap fix. Stay tuned.
I've got an 82' W350, with 4 speed manual transmission. This spring It's gonna run.
Holy mackerel, 4x4 1 ton? I gotta see that.
@@somewhatfast I'll send a picture if you'd like.
@@somewhatfast Or pictures.

Yep sounds like one Clynder is no compression.Unbalanced crank.
Tap tap on the carb it'll be fine
Carb tap is better than a rebuild
@@somewhatfast that's a fact
its a geyser . she will be a good daily mate after a few mods had 4 cars with a 727 not one did that

Old gas in tank and water.
Should be 727 trans
Doesn't sound to bad.
Should I leave it stock or Flowmaster and remove cats? Nothing crazy maybe just a small muffler its too quiet.
Dome light on by headlight switch turn clockwise yo shit off
Tried still on

There is a part on the video where I bang on the carb with a ratchet.and I have no clue what you are trying to say.
Biometal choke and hot air doors.
