For those who didn’t pull it together the connection Sora and Ven share actually goes deeper and connect to Roxas and Vanitas too. When Ven and Vanitas were separated Ven’s heart was touched by a new borns who offered to share his heart to fix Vens damaged one, this is why Ven was able to survive and that new born was Sora. Because Ven and Vanitas come from the same heart as Sora’s heart connected the Vens it also touched Vanitas which is why Vanitas and Sora look and sound the same. It is also why Ven could return to Sora at the end as they were already connected and ultimately by having Vens heart within his own this is why Sora can dual wield.
Conversely this is why Roxas looks like Ven and not Sora, when Sora became a heartless his nobody was formed and due to Ven having entered Soras heart it influenced how Roxas created. Having come from Sora and Ven this is why Roxas is not as laid back as Sora and why he is as impulsive as Ven is and as with Sora why he can also dual wield
I thought Sora’s clothes gave him the power to dual wield (since he loses that ability in KH3).
And it was Roxas defeating and absorbing Xion’s power that gave him the ability to dual wield.

@@zackasaurr4285 no the clothes just gave him access to new abilities, the dual wielding comes from having Vens heart within him and that’s confirmed by Nomura.
Also Roxas always had the ability to dual wield but couldn’t due to Xion essentially cutting off access to his full power.

Originally birth by sleep ended with the Final episode with Sora Riku and Kairi chatting on the Destiny islands. meanwhile The secret episode was an added bonus content that released a year later with the final mix version, this new added episode continues Aqua’s story.
For something that wasn't clear to you, Dee, after Aqua talked with Ansem, the game flashbacked to earlier in her travels there, to before Sora finished saving the worlds in the first Kingdom Hearts. Which is why that castle was there, and why it was called 0.5
Terranort is my favorite boss battle of all time. The atmosphere is so dark and tragic, bordering on apocalyptic. Terranort is so relentless in the first half that I really felt like I was fighting for my life the first time I fought him and while I'm not the biggest fan of multiple stage boss battles, it was so cool seeing the Guardian again during the second half and it works with his moveset surprisingly well. It's the perfect boss battle technically and thematically.
Sets things up very well for later, too.
This is in my opinion tied for second or third saddest ending in a Kingdom Hearts game I ever seen. Competing alongside 358/2 Days. I can’t tell you first place due to spoilers.
We’re probably thinking about the same game and yes, that ending depressed me (I never cry in front of any game for some reason).
If it's the game I'm thinking of. I was so happy to have 100% Normal and Proud modes in time...

Oh here we go again. This version of dearly beloved always made me cry and I will always have it in my favorite rendition of it. It starts off so soft with the piano and then the whole orchestra goes in like as if it hope being renewed for Aqua.
The Blank Points ending never fails to make me cry. Honestly the best secret ending in the entire series.
Before you can control Aqua in the Realm of Darkness, you see a hole form in what I assume is the ceiling of the Realm of Darkness and a LOT of darkness flows through it. I think that was when Radiant Garden was engulfed in darkness. That was roughly 10 years before the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 1.
I thought that was Castle of Dreams. Which is the entire reason Aqua finds it. She sees the darkness swallow it and follows it to find what was consumed. Which was Cinderellas home world.
@@ComicCrossing I think logically Radiant Garden would have been engulfed first because the research on the heartless was started there by Ansem The Wise and continued by Ansem Seeker of Darkness. It spread to other worlds from there. But honestly, you could be right.

No doubt the chat between Aqua and Ansem was just so beautifully done. Can really feel the emotions in that scene.
That cut scene with Aqua and Ansem. Right in the feels, every time. Definitely helped by Dearly Beloved.
Hearing youtubers react and on the verge of crying and yelling "no no no no" always makes me laugh so hard LMAO. I LOVE IT cause they are experiencing KH!!!
Aqua was the mvp of this story. She handled all the smack talk from Terra and Ven when she was just trying to protect them and sacrificed herself in the end for them while somehow not going insane from being trapped in the realm of darkness for over a decade 😭
What about ven. He went out to make sure his homie is alright gained new experiences saught the truth and he sacrificed himself for terra and aqua
I actually disagree there as this game is a tragedy of three heroes and no one really comes out on top by the end if it. Terra gets a lot of flak at surface level for trusting a guy like Xehanort and some of the villains in the game, but its clear that through his story, his problem is a case of not making quick judgements out of politeness and suspicion; as well as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But Aqua's issue is that she didn't trust her friends throughout the game really, and although she cared for them, she didn't experience what they went through to understand where they were coming from and so she ends up thinking she's in the right and follows Eraqus' beliefs to a T. Which screws her over in the end because without that perspective, without trusting her friends and trying to corral them to follow a certain path, she ends up dooming them down the path of where there stories lie.
In short, she's biased. Ven admittedly has it the worst, whereas Terra got duped by a monster, and Aqua was caught in the crossfire of a situation she wasn't prepared for at all to deal with, Ven is basically the cornerstone to trigger an apocalypse which sucks because no matter what he did, he was fated to fight Vanitas and forge the X-blade.
Edit: Ven does have it worse for this game specifically, but personally Terra's fate is without a doubt the worst of the three for obvious reasons in my oppinion considering what it leads to. Just thought I'd put that here looking back.

@@taqresu5865 He’s very, very good at the actual physical mechanics of the game, as a result of grinding as much as he did with the basics. Human bosses tend to be a lot less of a struggle for the players who don’t rely on the flashy stuff.
There’s only one boss that really demands you use the cheese method, and its the only one I’m worried about causing a synthesis stream.

Almost all of Terra-Xehanort's attacks are attainable, when playing as Terra, if that tells you how much you're missing out on. Even if you don't record it, you should totally do some more melding, and level up all of the finisher commands, and try them out. Get through the main campaign in the Mirage Arena for the Ultimate Shotlock, and you'll really start feeling like the Lingering Will.
Exactly my friend, Aqua has been in the darkness for how long? That was the exact question, can you imagine how long?... She's so brave, for me she is the best!

I am absolutely loving this Kingdom Hearts journey, I love this series with all my heart and I am always so happy to watch other people discover and come to love it as well. BBS definitely never fails to hit me hard no matter how many times I experience it. Also watching him fawn over how cute little Kairi, Sora and Riku are reminds me of the first time I saw them...I did the same thing! And yes, Blank Points hits like a TRUCK even after seeing it so many times...

Usually nobodies look like their original selves , but Roxas doesn't look like Sora because Ven was inside Sora , thus Roxas took the shape of Ven.
If I remember correctly it’s also why he has two keyblades. One from Sora and the other from Ven.

Maybe that's a link to Union Cross and Re:Mind where it's shown that Ventus still has the Darkness in his heart so the Darkness' will manifested as a Keyblade for Roxas through Ven's heart? IDK, I'm just speculating.
@@lukasruston8618 Despite it’s look Oblivion is still a keyblade from the world of light and both of their appearances are linked to Sora. Nomura confirmed Oathkeeper is symbolic of Kairi and Oblivion is symbolic of Riku.
This is why Aqua’s armor was in KH2.
So to recap. Xehanort ripped the darkness out Ventus to make Vanitas, damaging his heart. This would lead Ven to make a sacrifice to stop Vanitas and almost destroyed him that’s when he met Sora and became a part of his heart. This happened so long ago that Sora doesn’t remember it. This is why Roxas looks like Ventus, also why Xemnas looks like an older version of Terra, because Xehanort hijacked Terra’s body. Aqua put a spell on Kairi to keep her safe and that’s what happened in most of KH1, also accidentally gave Kairi the power to wield the keyblade. Aqua then lands in the realm of darkness, as far as I can tell you don’t age in the realm of darkness. Terra gave the power to wield the keyblade to Riku, Sora’s keyblade was originally meant for Riku. More we’ll be explained in volume 2 and in Dream Drop Distance
Some things I just wanted to correct, Ventus never tried to stop Vanitas at first, it's said somewhere in BBS (I forget where, probably one of the reports) that removing the darkness from Ventus' heart is practically like removing a fragment of the heart, that in itself nearly killed Ventus until Sora saved him... unless if you are talking about the end of the story in which case, that's actually the second time Ven and Sora's hearts connected. As for the whole realm of darkness thing, I believe Nomura specifically stated that time works differently in there and that every time you take a step, you could be moving seconds forwards in time or possibly days.
Technically Aqua not aging is because time moves differently in the realm of darkness, to Aqua 10 years were couple of days.
Volume 2 never came out. 0.2 was just a small part of what was intended for Volume 2.

I finally figured out how to explain it! Imagine if you got the Fierce Deity’s Mask or the Chicken Parade Mask in Majora, then never used them once, not even to react to what they did. That’s how it feels to watch you find new commands and D-Links in Birth By Sleep.
Nobody is telling you how to play the game, they just want you to see everything there is to see onscreen. And that’s not just the story.
Terranort using the Guardian is much worse than just a summon. I can’t tell you why yet though.

Congrats clearing BBSFM blind on Critical Mode without shortcutting curaga, equipping double-slot commands you found, using link finishers, or learning more than 4 of the game's 70+ passive abilities... very impressive boss pattern speed learning ngl hope it works on the most unfair poorly designed superbosses in the series too! At this rate gonna peek back in AFTER ddd if you still play the same as bbs since games after ddd learn abilities/magic the old kh1/kh2 way. At least ddd wont let you try crit til clearing the game 1 time (:
Ngl the only unfair boss is MF. I just beat VR as Terra Crit lvl 1 without either of the surges yesterday and it was great.
It really is impressive if you think about it. Dee is really trying to go into these games blind without consulting guides, and without backseating.
He may not be experimenting with all the gameplay elements available to him, but it revealed that he is quick to study enemy patterns, and he has a strong resolve to repeatedly face the same enemy over and over for hours. I think he has an entire stream dedicated to fighting Lingering Will for 4 hours.
I think he has the discipline to overcome MF, he's definitely going to suffer a lot lol

@@taqresu5865 even more impressive because if I remember correctly he didn't get Ventus or Aqua's counter-attacks, which is understandable considering they aren't straight up given to you so it did throw me off a couple of times when I was wondering why he wasn't counter-attacking until I remembered
Getting hugged would have triggered a special event, one that adds a bit of context to the situation. Specifically, it would have shown what fighting back meant.
Similarly, the fight against Master Xehanort has a rarely seen attack that triggers a scene. (The move I'm thinking of is Ultima Freeze, where Xehanort teleports above Terra and pins him to the ground while charging a frozen blast.)
I was hoping that he was going to get hugged for that whole fight
If you come closer to him, you can use a block with it but don't get too close because you get 1 more health left. You can use a cartwheels to go faster.
I just realized that when Ansem mentioned at the end that whatever he had left on him was washed away by the currents, I thought of all the reports. He probably came to this realm to escape or hide, and along the way he lost sight or control, and the currents scattered them across all the worlds.
I love how you yell at the boss. “What do you mean by using cure? You don’t need another bloody health bar!”
@DeeBeeGeek Birth By Sleep was NUTS, and while we aren’t COMPLETELY done with it yet (with the secret bosses including a “certain secret boss” that you should pay REALLY GOOD attention for the “future” INCLUDING the music for it, I would say that we are pretty much at the halfway point in our Kingdom Hearts Journey, and I’m very interested for what your opinions will be on Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded as that’s our next stop, even though it’s only cutscenes like 358/2 Days. Keep up the good work.🔑

Birth By Sleep by far was my favorite KH game. I love Aqua and just her entire character arc. I can't wait until you get into Fragmentary passage and 3. Also you really should watch the opening for KH 2.8 it's one of the newer openings and it's so freaking amazing.
The cutscenes at the end that you watched, from 2, the 2nd one of those scenes, has a WHOLE new meaning when you get through the entire series. It's SO cool!!
For the super boss that you didn't beat of the two you fought, Surge attacks are often what are used to face it and get what you gain from it(Which is bad ass). Though, if you need to level up, you could just try to clear more of the Mirage Arena.
Speaking of, probably should level in the Mirage Arena on all three files. There's a small number of challenges that are character specific, BUT, more importantly, one of the super bosses in the Mirage Arena changes its moveset based on who fights it.
Oh, and there's other side quests that can be done too. There's Unversed Challenges that if you get top rank on, give you a special ability that's rather unique.

After this ending, with Ventus joining into Sora’s heart, it makes a lot more sense of how Xion took the appearance of Ventus to Xigbar, especially considering Xigbar himself when he was Braig had encountered Ventus all those years ago. Pretty fascinating how that all gets tied up in a nice little bow, isn’t it?
Congrats on finishing the game! And on getting the Critical Competitor trophy! That’s the only one I need for the Platinum. I don’t know why I decided to compete the reports on Proud… lol! And speaking of reports, I’m guessing your next KH stream will be reading Xehanort's Report? Looking forward to it!

And here we have BY FAR my favorite Heartless in the series, the Dark Hide.
I LOVE this thing, for very similar reasons to why I love Midir from Dark Souls 3.
He is extremely aggressive, violent, threatening and intimidating, and he doesn't simply act as mindless beast, but also employs the power of darkness and illusions to fight. Not just that, but the cutscene before the fight with his PoV looking at Aqua perfectly displays how this isn't a fight you picked, but one he did, it's not a hero fighting a monster, it's a hero being hunted by one.
The reason I love the Dark Hide so much is that far better than any other, he embodies what a Heartless truly is: A terrifying monster of pure darkness that feeds on the hearts of the living.
So glad people like damo(?) uploaded all the Union X cutscenes for those late in the series could watch
KH, re:COM, BBS, and KHIII will always get me super emotional no matter how many times I play or watch them. Every installment gets me emotional, but those few had EXTRA stuff added to them.
That's what I love about kh lore. Confusing, but simple when you have all the keys to understand it. You just have to keep them in your memory. 😉
That moment when Aqua gives herself up to save Terra like that... it breaks my heart every time. She's only 18 years old, and she loses herself into the darkness for over 10 years of silent suffering.
This is why Aqua is the best.

Man, I remember beating BBS for the first time back in 2010 on the PSP lol. Seeing Blank Point was insane, and still is! Have beat the game so many times and it gets me literally everytime.
A fun fact for anyone that doesn't know, but the Realm of Darkness section here at the very end was only in the Final Mix version of BBS, that only came out in Japan. We here in the west didn't get to play or see that part until the remaster on PS3, with the 2.5 collection.

As someone who has beaten/watched this series SEVERAL times over and has Hundo'd KH1 and KH2 Several times over. It's really nice to see a fresh face playthrough the series for the 1st time. I've seen all of ur KH videos up to this point and I've been entertained from start to finish. I'm excited for you to watch re:coded then play DDD

The BBS volume two trailer is from a game that got scrapped lol, though ideas from it were eventually used for 0.2
That last fight thing is a prelude to secret episode where you fight with Aqua in 2.8 or you can fight with Aqua in the world of darkness you can even unlock little costume pieces and dress her up that part's a little weird but it's kind of fun and it adds to the story

I wish I was there to watch you play this, but oh well. The ending of BbS really is a sad one and I love the story of BbS. While gameplay has issues since it was on the PSP and was Osaka Team's first time making a KH game it wasn't all that bad.
Aqua is such a great character and I love Terra and Ven as well.
I hope to see you continue your KH journey with KH3... even though that one is my least favorite KH game. Oh before that DDD, right? You're going to LOVE Flowmotion in that.

out of any other fight this was the only one to genuinely terrify me. Still kept my cool and beat it first try (or I think it was) but being in the dark while that thing is stalking me and then charging the way it does gave me a fright for sure.
Also, the way the battle music starts with that piano just goes hard, I love it.
Dee going "No Aqua! you're supposed to protect Ven" but doesn't realize aqua is kind of the cause of everything due to saving Terranort but her falling into the Realm of Darkness is protecting Ven if she's lost no one not even Xenahort wouldn't be able to unlock the chamber of waking

Sora connected with Ventus during the prologue, the voice that was talking with Ven was Sora who was just born. that’s why Ventus goes back to him by the end due to their connection.

Anyways, I never really noticed, but as DeeBee re-watched those two cutscenes from KHII, I noticed that Xigbar has some mannerisms that really stand out now, having seen mostly all that there is to be seen in the series (missing a good chunk of Dark Roads).
For the next video, just thought I'd let you know, all but two of the super bosses are in the Mirage Arena. Though, there's also the Unversed challenges as well, one per world.
