@ There are several ways to address lack of IBIS in the X-M5. First, use a lens with stabilization. Second, use a gimbal. Third, use the built in digital stabilization. I did not get a chance to try this feature, but I understand it should work pretty well. Also, iBIS is much more effective for photos than in video for reducing the appearance of camera motion.

This camera has potential to wipe all m43 small carry around cameras. Panasonic, OM, we’re waiting for a bold response.
Hello! Thanks for watching and sharing your comment. I think, and hope, and hope camera companies will pay attention to the $500-$800 camera market again.
x-s20 maybe then? (also better buffer, better grip and bigger battery..) My choice so far if the bank would allow 😅 Now shooting with x-s10 (would like the bigger battery and better screens, mainly because of the better autofocus/bird detection) Good luck making your choice!
Can you take raws with this and then use the utility fuji provides for computers to change the raw to any of the film simulators, also with this camera?
Hi! I work at Kenmore Camera, near Seattle, and the Fujifilm rep lives nearby, so he brings us gear early when he can for promo. It’s lots of extra work, but fun!
I'm very new to a physical camera, at least the modern kind. I did want something that would take very good vintage pictures and also have better quality than my pixel phone In all aspects of picture quality not only vintage or filters but everything, do you think this camera would be a good choice?
Hi! This camera is marketed very specifically at people who want more from a camera than phones can deliver. All modern digital cameras offer amazing image quality and performance. My suggestion is to see if there is a physical camera store near you to go look at and hold the camera. How the camera feels is very important to enjoying using it. Please let me know if you have other questions!
Thanks for this. I checked my video files, and do see two mounting holes for the fan that works on X-H2S, X-H2, X-S20, but don't remember reading that in any of the documentation so far. Cheers!
This is just to say "hello Michael" and that I did watch the video (very good one by the way). Short comment, if it had a viewfinder I “would” definitely get one as just another toy. Be well.
Interesting camera for those happy to use the screen. But makes the XT30 II look like a better choice overall especially given that the price isn't too different
In my camera sales experience, there is a fairly large potential market for a “minimalist” camera like this, combined with its “content creation” features. We’ll see!
I'm the world's youngest boomer. The lack of a viewfinder absolutely puts me off from this otherwise perfect little fella. My girlfriend has a Canon M-type camera that is basically the same sort of ethos as this, and I can't stand it because it feels like it's getting in the way of my ability to actively change settings by couching them into the screen, and also removing the viewfinder, which is as anti-traditional as it gets for a camera. Any device that is built for creativity that also somehow actively hinders it, probably isn't worth my time. Do they...make an electronic viewfinder you can put on top?
Hi! There is no option (currently) for an add on electronic viewfinder. It will be interesting to see how this camera sells when it’s available next month. We already have preorders at the camera store where I work. Also, for its intended market, the lack of EVF may not be an issue. We’ll see!
Hi! If you’re referring to water resistance rating, it is not stated in any of the specifications and the camera is not marketed as having weather resistant features.
It’s been my experience in the camera store that many customer’s first hold the camera to use the rear screen, not the viewfinder. Will be interesting to see how it does.
Thank you for the size comparison with the Ricoh!
You’re welcome! It’s amazing how small the X-M5 is. Cheers!
Excellent review!
Many thanks for watching and sharing your kind words. Best wishes!
This camera would be a big step up from a phone. This would be a fun little video camera!
Hi! Agreed, and that’s how Fujifilm is marketing the camera - when you want more than a phone can do.
@@MSladekPhoto The problem is that it has no IBIS, video is so shaky it unusable

I actually have sold my Lumix GX850/GF9 yesterday and preordered the XM5
@brandxyz2910 Wow! I hope you enjoy the X-M5. Would love an update when you get yours. Cheers!
Thanks for the thorough review! 🙌
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and glad you found the video helpful. Best wishes!
Very nice content mate, you rock!
Hello! Thanks so much for your kind words. Cheers!
@MSladekPhoto buddy this is the minimum with all those hours spent to do that video.
@@MaxPhotoGraphic Haha! Again, thanks. It’s fun, but a lot of work, for sure.
Passing on this one.... why? No viewfinder which is very difficult to use under the sun and no IBIS. These are turned off.
It’s not for everyone. No camera is…

I hope it sells well.
Me too! I think the timing is pretty good as lots of folks are looking for smaller and lighter and less expensive, but still high quality camera.
@@MSladekPhoto Yes!
My first thought when seeing the camera was “Success!” It’s rare these days for me to think that.
Perfectly advanced tiny-camera. ❤❤❤❤❤
Will be fun to see reaction when people get a chance to see and use it.

I’m pretty sure you can do this. Since the camera was pre-production, I only photographed in jpg.
Love this!!!! How did you get the camera so early oh my goooodnesss 😃

Does this camera support tethering?
It should… it’s up to the software companies to accommodate.

I wonder if it has overheating issues when recording long form stuff like concerts?
Good question! Guessing with lower-res sensor (26MP) that will generate less heat?
@@MSladekPhoto it can fit the Fujifilm fan, like the XH2/S and the XS-20

Agreed... the missing viewfinder is sometimes a big deal. But, that's the compromise for small size. Cheers!
The Pentax 110 is smaller and it has an EVF.
The Pentax 110 is a film camera... so NO EVF. Viewfinder (optical), yes, but not electronic. It is smaller ;)

IP Rating?

Seems a lot less like a proper camera without a viewfinder. Shame.
The original didn't have a viewfinder either. This was totally expected.

@@CNRFB2000 Yes, that's true. I guess I'm just waiting for that XE5 with interchangeable lenses *and* a viewfinder!
