oh absolutely! all the time, even now! there's always gonna be someone/some shop that you envy, but i guarantee that they're doing the same thing about someone else!! i know it can be hard to not compare, but the best thing you can do is focus on yourself and your growth. good things take time, and i wish you the best with your shop! keep going girl!🤍
Your packaging is super cute!! Maybe for future with your tissue paper, as I appreciate custom tissue paper can be expensive, maybe try cutting the sheet in half and then you wouldn't need to do as much folding and wasting of tissue paper? Just an idea!! Good luck in 2022!!

Hi! I know I am not Kelsey but I am starting my business as well! I just got my DBA today and opening my first business checking account as a 15 year old. First of all I HIGHLY recommend at least getting a DBA (Doing Business As) and opening a business checking or just getting a basic checking account in general (age does not matter). This will really help in the long run as you become an actual small business rather than someone selling things. I would really look into become a sole proprietorship as it WAY cheaper than start an LLC. Then I would write a business plan, I went to my local used book store and grabbed a couple cheap books about writing a business plan. This is really attractive to investors and it is really easy to get a ton of money for your business if you’re looking to do that. Next I would write everything out and organize my thoughts, and plan plan plan! I also recommend being as professional as possible; having descriptions of your product, good quality pictures, good listing/title names, and being extremely professional!! As small business owners we are competing with HUGE corporations so we have to be as professional as we possibly can.

@@nlplaysrespectanimals3667 that's a good question. i can make a video about my opinion and experience using etsy, but there are a lot of things you need to consider. while etsy is a great way for people all around the world to discover your shop, etsy also has a LOT of rules and fees, which can negatively impact your business and potentially get your shop shut down. having your own website completely puts you in charge of your business and you don't have to worry about having someone higher up than you who could shut down your shop out of nowhere. long story short, there are lots of things to consider based on the platform you choose to sell on, so i recommend doing research before choosing one.

@@taniam.4554 id say a chromebook is very affordable, but it lacks certain printing features and doesn't connect to apple devices. so i would research some and make sure it has everything you're looking for in a computer

i respect your opinion. however, in order to be a more sustainable business, i need to use more eco-friendly materials to package, which means less plastic. this is a way to protect the environment, but still have somewhat cute packaging. i still haven't used up all of my old packaging so it may still be in future videos, but i am doing my best to focus on being more environmentally conscious and less focused on the "visual appeal" of my packaging!

yes that is true! i am 18. but i had my shop under my moms name until i turned 18!
