never thought i'd see a formal video essay on CupcakKe and her remixes, but here i am, left completely bald because my wig flew from how wonderful you explained them and how it's postmodern art
Ranvision's remixes are gonna stay in the internet forever, whether he himself reuploads it or others do it, but the biggest loss is all the views in his very popular videos and all the thousands of comments :(
PERIOD!!! the real ones know the value of things that are seen as low brow, if you liked that Wattpad romance story, why must it be a guilty hobby? Isn't there value in the way it engage you? If you recognize that meg thee stallion, or tockisha song is fun, why would you demean it, and why we cant we call it "art"? Same with hyperpop artists, or Tumblr NSFW artists, or modern artists, or those cringy unfinished videogame projects, I find those types of things so earnest and worthy of praise. Artists like cupcakke directly ask those questions and make fun of the criticism and I find it so awesome 💓.

I remember listening to your Opera cover of CPR.. They are so iconic... Currently I'm grieving after the Tube took down one of the Cupcakke remixers... ❤❤❤
i absolutely adore your analysis! you really hit the nail on the head of the values and the cultural effects of cupcakke's music and the remixes inspired by it. cupcakke's music and the remixes inspired by her are beautiful and artful not just in spite of but because of her crudeness and her boundary-pushing lyrical dexterity, and you capture how powerful her work has been with a palpable admiration and respect for her work. i'd love for more people to see the vision that you have!
I need to say, I love your earrings colors. Also thank you, i always interpreted her remixes as satires of the original piece. As most remixes makes it funny as hell.
this is an amazing video, excellently written with clear chapters and great editing!! (edit: and great sound quality too!!!) i need more video essays like this
I got a little stranded from the floptok community since spanish floptok, "potaxie", got gentrificated. 9yr olds and other children singing to remixes of moanings or sexual referring lyrics just pushed me aside, because it just contributes to the adultification of young girls, thing that's already happening with them here in LATAM. They're so funny, very well done, and i like them a lot, but i prefer to not give more views to something that's arriving to kids who shouldn't be watching that at all. Anyway, this is a great video, keep the good stuff going ;3
isn't this hypocritical? like i know damn right i was watching nicki minaj's mvs when i was 9 and listening regularly to ayesha erotica when i was 13. well im not saying it's the correct thing im just saying it's the norm and it has been for a while so it's not like that weird
The adultification of young girls has nothing to do with this music. If my child for some reason heard a cupcake remix and was repeating it, I wouldn't think of her as an adult. Blaming the children and artists for the creeps who actually abuse children is not it. Sexual music has existed for eternity and every generation has had popular songs that were obviously sexual and every generation has had teens and kids listening to that music, that doesn't contribute to the adultification of children, people being creeps does. You are indirectly making an excuse for creeps and pushing the blame on to the victims. I'm not saying kids should or shouldn't listen to whatever they want to, but saying that children singing sexual lyrics contributes to their abuse is wrong on many levels. I'm sure you don't mean it that way which is why I'm telling you that that is a form of victim blaming and letting you know so you don't accidentally make that connection again. You can say that parents allowing their kids to post inappropriate videos of themselves are contributing to child abuse in online spaces. But don't blame the kids who happen to consume or even enjoy this music or any music.
It doesn’t even need to be unofficial remixes. Official songs are already great- lipgloss, and I got it, shake it are 3 great songs from Charli xcx and cupcakke. Also lipgloss is produced by Sophie. AG Cook produced shake it and Brooke candy is on that as well.
sorry, but you DO know that not all of the "Cupcakke Remixes" are actually made by her, right? A majority of the Remixes were made by other people who sample her songs and insert those samples into other songs. I dont even know if Cupcakke herself is aware of this practice.
she is verrryyy aware of this practice and is an active participant! cupcakke has commented on cupcakke remixes multiple times and has even joked about suing (which people thought was serious but then they found out she was playin LMAO). additionally some of her newer songs even contain adlibs and sounds that are seemingly tailored to be used in these remixes which she also stated by highlighting the iconic already existing sounds (smack my ass like a drum, etc.) and talking about the newer, updated sounds that would be in her new music! i would say that she’s still a pretty big contributor to the postmodernism the creator is describing even if she doesn’t make them herself because she supports them and encourages them. TLDR: cupcakke is aware of the remixes people make using her music and supports it
yeah, but we’re not talking about that, as that would be too broad of a subject to be interesting. It’s way more interesting to focus that idea onto a more niche yet seemingly unstoppable community
Can’t wait for the Cupcakke remix of this video 👅
that would be so incredibly fierce XD

Justice to Ranvision Remixes 🙏🙏
Sadly, a juggernaut of Cupcakke remixes, Ranvision, recently had their YT channel terminated. They have resurfaced under the name ranvision-remixes
An earnest and well put together anaylsis on CupcakKe remixes? You ate that.
A+ for the crocs earrings

Cupcakke Remixes have been the best thing to bless us on the internet in an ongoing thriving art in this decade ❤
my favorite kinds of cupcakke remixes are either those of very niche things or highly esteemed things, and i think you just explained why
If I were talented I’d do a cupcakke remix of this video to create the ultimate postmodern art piece
They fucking martyred ranvision 😭
You ate this up
You didn't even need to say anything. You had me at Cupcakke Remix
When cupcake remixes actually try to merge the music together in a pleasant way rather hen just throwing it on the original song… I ascend

Idk if it's that deep though
it’s funny because it is that deep and it both isn’t that deep. it’s as deep as you want it to be.
Let me say it postmodern art is just shit and incompetent given a fancy academic name
