Yayyyy!! I've been dying to see a (quality) reviews on the 3 in 1. Ty.
thanks for watching!
Love your comparison videos. I've gotta say, this one was pretty much the closest of all the ones you have done so far. The results were nearly identicle! I believe the Griot's had a slightly better look, but that was only slightly and could have been due to the surface it was on more so than the results of the product. Nice job!
Thanks!
I think megs for small corrections and better gloss, and then fast finish for protection. Great review. subbed.
Been interested in Megs new 3n1. Thanks for doing this cheap vs expensive, both sides looked too similar to call a difference and wouldn’t mind buying either based on the results!
100%
Thanks for this video I haven't seen either of these reviewed yet
I have used the Griot's both by hand and with a DA, and I was pleased with the results.
Great video as always,i have no experience in waxing polishing ect,so my question is do you think either product would hurt/mess up trim or ruber seals basicly anything other than paint on the car? I would like to try out the Maguire's but like i said ive never done anything like this
I got the Megs 3 in 1 and have applied to my 'candy apple red' charger and let me say.....love the shine and ease of the product. It took me longer to clean the inside then to wash and wax the outside. Thank you for the experiment between the 2.
I used the mag 3 in 1 on my ten year old truck and it looks great.
Finally a good review on these. I’ve been looking to pick one of them up.
thanks!
Good video my man.. shout out from South Texas
Thanks What would be best for an RV gel coat. I was thing of using an Orange pad and AIO like these or 3D one. I have a regular 8mm DA. Any thoughts are appreciated
Wow! Pretty impressive actually. I wasn’t expecting that from those two :)
Same here
I have some Zaino AIO which is awesome with a DA. I probably wouldn’t buy it again because it’s mail order only so it’s nice to know Meg’s has a similar good product now. I put it on every 4 months or so and my truck literally looks as good as it did when I bought it 3 years ago. Love AIO.
Was that a microfiber pad or a wool pad. I can’t seem to find the microfiber pad. Only the coarse wool pad with the blue backing.
A tie so I will go with the less costly bang for the buck. Thank you so much. By the way, you are a very intelligent hooman.
I used the Griot's 3 in 1 recently, great results held up nice. Car got parked under one of those trees that rain sap it all washed off easy, thought I was gonna have to clay the car again, but no need.
He doesn’t apply products as directed a lot of the time. The cheap stuff was suppose to let sit for 30 min and he wiped right away.
Nice video! Amazing the value you get for either of these products.
What kind of flooring is in your garage?
Excellent comparison. Both acted the same but for the price = I would buy the Griot's Garage product. In fact I will purchase it right now.
Why does it sound like you filmed this video at a children’s playground?
Love your channel jimbo! Do these products cut down the clear coat or just fill? Thanks
Jimbo, another great video comparison... seems to me they both had a difficult time enduring the torture tests. Although, the initial results seemed positive.
👍🏻🤙🏻
Good video, but dont you think they should be applied as instructed to see how they stand out on their own?
Great video Jimbo.
Thanks!
Great job brother
Do you recommend use wax after this? Or that 3in one is enough?
What do you feel had the best correcting ability and shine out of d166, griots 3 in 1, meguiars 3 in 1, and HD speed wax? Would make an awesome video.
hd speed is my all time fav
Good video again! I use the Griot's 3n1 on my cars I am NOT a detailer just do my three vehicles to keep them nice, the Griot's 3n1 is good for about three months so seeing that it was sort of an even match I am glad I am saving some money with the Griot's I lay it down with Griot's red pad and their 6 inch polisher and do wait around the 20 or 30 minute time frame for removal.
With the product being 3-in-1 and containing abrasive, do you still use it when re-applying after it wears off in about 3 months? Or do you use a non-abrasive wax instead? The polishing part shouldn't need to be done every 3 months.
@@JohnstonCheng Yes you can use the three in one and still use a dual action machine in a low setting so long as you use a waxing pad and very little force on the machine of course this will all take place after the car is properly washed for that I use Meguiars wash plus.
@@JoseSanchez-wb5rz Thanks for the response Jose. Now if I have dedicated waxes like Meguiar's Ult Paste, should I go with that over the Griot's 3-in-1? and save the 3-in-1 for use maybe every 6 months to a year?
@@JohnstonCheng Indeed you can do that. I do it every three months because all my three cars are exposed to the elements none of them are garaged.
@Auto detailing podcast Jimbo after protection was gone what did the panel look like? Did the swirls and scratches come back? Also McGuire’s forum says that the 3n1 will remove da hazing caused by Ultimate Compound. Can you test? One more thing the megs forum says that the 3n1 will be replacing the BlackWax.
I didn’t put it under lights. I should definitely check
Hey Jimbo new to your channel love what you are doing. I want to use an all in one wax but i hear people saying that you need to seal it after using an all in one is that true if so what are they talking about and what would i seal it with. Thanks and keep up the guud work bro.
I wonder if applying a sacrificial layer over these, like Bead Maker, would add a layer of protection ? Thoughts..
For sure would
Hi I have seen your video but I have some doubts. Is Meguiars 3 in 1 a highly abrasive product? My car is 12 years old, it has never been polished but it is in excellent condition, it is always in the garage and has only a few micro washing scratches. I would like to polish it by hand but it would be the first time for me and I don't want to damage the paint. Could the 3-in-1 Meguiars burn the clear coat used by hand like once a year? Is it good for any type of paint including European cars? I live in Europe and I have a Peugeot 308 Blue metallic. Thank you very much for your kind reply
hi excuse me a question, this product is as powerful as ultimate compound, using the red pad and the mt300 machine?
Well I Just Did My Car Today And I LIKE IT! Good Video Oh I Did The MEGUIARS
Nice!
Nice 1-step for most daily drivers, and seem to be about the same except for price. What brand are those garage cabinets in your place?
New age bold 3.0
It would have been nice to see if the products are still masking swirls. I dont think that they have eliminated those.
They can remove light defects and swirls, depends on how aggressively you apply it. Pad, polisher, etc.. 👍👌✌
Great job! 👍👍 🙌
Thanks
Meguiars 3 in 1 wax VS turtle hybrid ceramic polish n wax.. review this.. how do better in both of them?
PLease do a cheap vs expensive with ceramic coating vs Xzilon green. That would be really cool to see.
is this anywhere in the terms of an applyable wax that has durability? or is this strictly light polishing with added small protection
thanks for a great video! i guess im in for meguires 3 in 1. do you recommend after this treatment do i put sealant? thank you.
Yes
Lol what a nail biter. I was like but but the griots didnt sit for the recommended time. Then when that was fixed i was like but but one has 2 complete coats. Glad you addressed it as fairly as possible. I am curious about both products.
Hey jimbo great test. I'm with the megs 3in1. But please answer this.... I have megs ultimate polish. If I polish the car after claying do I have to do an ipa wipe down before I wax? Or just apply wax over polish? Thanks.
Ipa will give you the best adhesion
did you do this test using mequires ceramic liquid wax??? if so i hope results were better...
I used Megs 3+1 and was overly satisfied with it for the purpose and results.
Thanks great for me a beginner
Great vid! Could you put Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax on top of this?
Yes
I've used ONLY Meguiars products for years and recently picked up the Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax and found it to be just as good as their other products. Its a great company and their products perform far superior to others on the Market and they are less expensiveeeeeeeerrrr
Curious how the new 3 in one does compared to a cleaner wax.
I just saw it as a new version of their cleaner wax
i think your right.
What’s better meguiars 3 in 1 or hd speed
I think it would be cheap vs cheaper, no?
Your right
JIMBO'S DETAILING *You’re had to do it
Hi have question for u. I used chemical guys VSS scratch and swirl removal with thier compound pad with DA and after I was done paint had haze in it. Why would that happen?
Shift Gears the compound and pad combo is too aggressive
I used the Griot's with a DA and had very good results.
nice!
So could I apply griots by hand? Or is that just a complete stupid question all the way around. I don't have the luxury of a da. I have a indigo blue truck that needs some major love. But I have no idea where to start with a compound poshish and wax. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
It would work by hand for sure.
It's seems the meguiars 3in1 performed similar to d166. I'm just assuming it's likely the "consumer " version of 166.
Most likely
I just bout a Griots Garage DA Polisher because I really wanna start taking care of my stuff and it came with this wax and a foam pad. You would maybe go with a microfiber pad for some bite huh......maybe ill try it.
Jimbo even though these have some sort of protection could you top it with a coat of Collinite or your favorite wax? I got the Griots on sale for $.95 at Advance a few weeks ago and thought about using this on an oxidized Subaru WRX and was curious about using Collinite 845 on top of it.
Yeah I think it would work to top it off with something like that
3 in 1 and all-in-one... same thing, different name. They both have abrasives with the sealant/wax acting as the carrier/lubrification agent. I did two All-in-one this week and completelly forgot to try them on microfiber... next one for sure ;)
Just a suggestion be sure to shake your product very well. I feel like out the box of the shelves there has to be some type of separation.
for sure - i try to
Very good review!...
Thanks
What these 3 in 1 also useally excells on is if you have a very contaminant paint. But good polishing ability too from these. What would be interesting to see would be if you took and light it up with your Scangrip after the OPC. To see if they filled the defects any. And when talking about OPC. You start to cough when you have started to use it. Try to not inhale over the panel when you have sprayed it on. Or even use a mouth protection. Some chemicals do that and many degreasers will have you to cough when breathing the evaporations and also if you get the mist from it breathed in.
Saw your Sonax BSD torture testing. Would you maybe do it once more and let the BSD cure after the wipe off for around 24 hours. I think that you will be seeing it to stand up to it even a little better.
for sure.
What would be a good topper for the griots 3-1
would love to see a comparison with the meguiar's and fusso and also durability
Fusso isn't a polish..
Nice video
Thanks
another great video man. I think these products are attractive and for the price you got a lot. but I'm wondering how many of your subscribers will actually use these since you're not going to be applying and ceramic coating on top of these products, even spray ceramic like the new mother's cmx. unless you think the cmx would be used as a topper over these three in ones.
you could use any of the ceramic sprays as toppers
That was a good comparison nice job. Griots price and performance has my 👍🏻. By the way Griots is pronounced gree ohs the t is silent you can go to griots home page scroll to the bottom and take there test.
Thanks - I struggle hardcore with the name
They seem to do a good job with swirls but not protection. I feel like it needs to be topped with a topcoat like beadmaker or meguairs fast finish
For sure
After the products were beat up did any of the swirls come back showing that the products use fillers or was the paint fully corrected?
Great video Thanks!
I still need to check
Peter, also consider the pad can remove some of the swirls ;)
Very impressive products.
for sure!
Did you apply that was like a polish?
Do you recomend using the 3 n 1 as a reg use..or will it thin out my paint overtime and multiple uses ?
you will be fine to use it 1 or 2x a year.
You didn't wait till it dried like instructed with the Griots???
I’m not a fan of the smell of Griot’s 3n1 it smells like potpourri to me. I’m a huge Griot’s fan but didn’t care for the 3n1 the few times I used it. I really like Griot’s Liquid Gloss Poly Wax and Advance usually carries it. The Meguairs looks like another good product. Meguiars has upped their game lately.
Beside odor, the product is worth the shot? Asking because i recently bought griots DA 6" polisher and come with it.
Carlos Rivera It works good but only lasts a few months and doesn’t give the same gloss IMO as other products Griot’s makes.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing thanks mate, the product will be used on family cars and friends
Carlos Rivera You are welcome
Use different towel to dry it one for each side
Shine Supply Clutch vs DPC ARMOR
JIMBO! have been wondering the difference between Megs Mirror Bright Polishing wax and this 3-in-1…. really kind of thinking they are very similar.
JimboH5 completely different formulas. They are similar in that they are abrasive al in ones. 3 in 1 is closer to D166.
@@MikeGDetailing thanks for the heads up on that
Great video bro thums up
They are the same product.
thanks!
This would work for me as a professional, a great looking product for clients who want a cheaper price point. I bet you could machine the whole car within 90 minites
for sure!
So I bought a DA and I have the Griots 3-1; after I use it should I strip wash before applying T.Wax Seal&Shine or Mom’s CMX?
No. It will strip the 3-1
Auto Detailing Podcast right but if I want the best results from S&S or CMX I want the 3-1 removed don’t I? Or can it just layer on the 3-1 without losing durability?
Could either of these be applied with a foam pad with the same results? If so, which pad? Like a polishing or waxing or medium cut etc...
Yes. These products are versatile and depending on the result you looking for, would dictate your pad choice.
Auto Detailing Podcast Cool. Thanks for the reply. Great vid. Subbed.
bkg2213 thanks man - glad to have you along
What pad did you use??
How do you think the Meguiar's 3 in 1 compares to the Meguiar's D166 you looked at a few months back?
It would make for a great test to compare the two
Ivan Lopez they are similar from reading on the Meguiar’s forum. D166 was designed around a polisher and worked better compared to using it by hand. 3 in 1 was designed to be used by hand but can be used by machine.
Maybe I missed something you said but griots was supposed to wait 20 to 30min to allow dry time correct? It was wiped off right away
He went back over it again and let it set. Did you just skip like 3 minutes of the video?
great comparison video again jimbo. I find AIO very pad dependant even 3 and 1s.i would use either 50/50 ero pad or l.c. low lint wool pads perfect 4 those.
The user of both of these products must realistically expect the protection to not be as good as a product specifically designed to deliver protection. You have an automatic compromise built into both products. If they put in a polish than there is going to be less protection. That's why the best is always to buy a separate polish and a separate protection product. Both are excellent as they both deliver on what is promised. Thanks for doing the test.
Try P and S Play Maker 3 in 1 with bead maker inside product!😎
I need to get some of that stuff. I def don’t believe the beadmaker part tho. That’s marketing right there
Jimbo, what Meguiars wax or sealant do you think would be a good one for my vehicle, Ford Raptor Truck and I farm with this vehicle
fast finish - or turtle wax ice seal and shine.
@@autodetailingpodcast I know a Carnauba wax doesn't last long, but does it protect more than say fast finish against abrasive material such as tall grass or leaves brushing against my truck preventing slight scratches?
@@autodetailingpodcast Jimbo please do a Fast Finnish and Ice Turtle wax vs Meguiars hybrid??
Gree ohs, gree ohs, gree ohs, gree ohs, gree ohs, not gree oats. lol
How about Gree aughts
I use maguire's 3 n 1 and then put maguire's carnauba wax The slickness is phenomenal
I love Megs. But I can attest to that Griots 3n1, not a bad cheapy product
Wow that’s a big statement better than HD speed
I may have Mis spoke - I’m not sure about that statement. Further testing needs to be done
I never wait 20 to 30 mins with the Griots 3 in 1 and I got great results.
You can always just keep moving throughout the rest of the car without wiping it off and 20-30 min go by fast
Yeah but you worked a smaller surface area and went alot slower on the griots why wouldn't there be more residue.
Quick question jimbo would you recommend a sealant or can you put a sealant like fast finish over these 3in1's?
good question - you can def put fast finish over this, but there is built in synthetic protection in these products.
Cool just wanted to make sure because I think the griot's said its infused with carnauba wax. I have it and used fast finish over it and it looked amazing. At the end of the day that's what we are looking for I guess. Amazing results with good protection. Thanks for the quick reply.
Erwin Rin nailed it my man! Great job.
Common sense is what I get from the guys I watch. You, scott bley, Luke Wilson, Brian from apex, and Darren are my knowledge gurus. Do what works in our world. I'm active duty military so I can only do it on the side when I can, but i make honest good money by common sense and your tips included. Only is detailers can tell the difference from products. Customers usually dont unless you have that "Prosumer"( ha used your word). Being profitable is important and I make good money with 3 jobs a week. You're awesome and keep going brother. You have a long time subscriber.
So thats it..the price differ..is u gotta wait 20min to wipe off...and the 3 n 1 you dont
After applying the 3 in 1 or any wax could you apply a ceramic coating after?
I wouldn’t recommend it
No
Griot's Garage has amazing products. Forget the 3 in 1, get Griot's Best of Show wax. Your welcome. The most beautiful finish I've ever seen. Premium products
100% I’ve been a fan of their products for a while
So what do you recommend prior to waxing and after waxing.
Turtle wax ice spray wax
@@autodetailingpodcast I've been using F11, just trying it out it does ok. If my truck was garage kept, it would probably see amazing results. I have a black truck in which I do my own washing and waxing. My question or questions should I continue to use F11? If not, then what do you recommend to take it off (dawn dish soap etc). Before waxing, should I clay my vehicle and what is the proper way in doing so? What wax would you recommend for a black vehicle? Sorry for the all the questions, however trust trying to keep my paint job looking good. Thanks for your time...blessings!!!
Have you ever tested any of the autoglym Products?
Not yet
Meguiar's 3 in 1 wax Vs meguiar's cleaner wax ? For comparison !?
ultimate focus RS MK2 NL there's no comparison IMO. Cleaner wax doesn't cut.
@@crystalsabundance cleaner wax cuts very very lightly! it is also an AIO (Cleaner, polish, wax). 3 in 1 wax should be an improvement!, As white wax and black wax was already an improvement of the Cleaner wax!, So we can think that 3 in 1 wax is an improvement of White (black) wax! at the base the AIOs are not very abrasive, not like a compound! the first function remains shine and protection !, I think the new 3in1 wax will be the same while being a little more abrasive than Cleaner wax.
moreover Auto Detailing Podcast you should compare Cleaner wax, white wax or black wax Vs 3 in 1 wax?
3 in 1 vs D166 might be a better comparison.
