    Tack så mycket! I have traveled to Göteborg twice, but it was many years ago. I was extremely shy in practicing, and Swedes are super nice in quickly reverting to English. I anticipate returning back in a couple of years, so these tips are extremely helpful to just try. Practice makes good. ❤🇸🇪

    We also say, "I'll take a..." when ordering a lot (in the US, at least). Often when we're ordering at a counter, like at a Starbucks. I might say, "I'll take a iced green tea and a pumpkin loaf, please." We might even say thanks instead of please.
    I wanted to say thanks again for all your videos... been watching for a few years and the way you put the words on the screen with funny memes really helped my recall when speaking during my trip to Stockholm in September. Now if I could only forget about me walking into a bakery in Gamlastan and ordering one meatball instead of one cinnamon bun!! 🤣

      Thanks a lot to you Erica for following us and also for sharing your knowledge to us. Interesting that you also say "thanks" instead of please in the US sometimes. Then it is not a unique thing for Sweden. Haha, how cute and funny that you ordered a köttbulle instead of kanelbulle 🤣 They are actually very easy to mix up! Hope you got the kanebulle in the end! :)

      Yay! How cool that you are coming for Eurovision 2024! These phrases should be very useful. We have done a clip about Eurovision before (if you haven't seen it yet). There you can learn some Eurovision-related vocabulary. ua-cam.com/video/1vFP_5-Ua4Y/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FunSwedish

    I have a question.
    I guess "tv:n" is the definite form of "tv".
    So what is the plural and definite plural of "TV"?
    How do you say "TVs" and "the TVs" in Swedish?

    • @FunSwedish
      @FunSwedish  7 місяців тому +2

      Great question! The plural version would be TV:ar but a lot of people say it in the longer version in plural " tv-apparater".

    Is there any differences between Tja and Tjena?

    • @FunSwedish
      @FunSwedish  8 місяців тому +1

      Good question. Both yes and no. They mean the same thing and both come from the same word "tjänare" (which is an old way to say “I am your servant", a phrase we used back in the old days to greet people) but tja/tjena are different variations of that original word :) I would also say that "tja" is a bit more common.

      Well even the well-known italian "Ciao" comes from a venetian dialect sentence "Sciavo vostro" meaning "I am your servant"!

      Swedish spoken in Finland has been influenced by Finnish, both in pronunciation and vocabulary. One example: Det var kiva (de va kiva) / Det var kul. / It was fun. In Finnish: Se oli kivaa.

      I feel like there are a bunch of examples where finland swedish promounces the words more like how they are spelled. Like, i think the pronounce the d in djungel.
