Great video sir. I wore these on the Saturday before a race to wonder round London and go to a festival. 36,000 steps. Next day a PB on a 10k race. In different shoes, but my point is the Superblast is crazy forgiving on the feet.
While everyone knocked the Superblast for the price (it is quite expensive), I looked beyond that and grabbed a pair. I am close to buying a 2nd pair as these have climbed my shoe ladder to become a favorite shoe in my rotation. I rotate it with the Nimbus 25 on occasion. The Superblast is just an all-around fantastic shoe. A joy to run in. Great choice, Ben!
Ben, I feel like this video is a summary of my life for the last couple of months! Have recently finished up with my 6th pair of the original Invincible, absolutely loved the shoe. I purchased a pair of the 3rd version and they just didn't work for me, my foot kept on slipping on the heel counter and I couldn't get them to work. I ended up settling on the More V4 and the Nimbus 25. I've done more miles in the More but as time goes on, I think I'm leaning more towards the Nimbus - has that excellent cushioned feel but think I can pick it up a bit more than the More if I need to. Thanks again for the videos and your insights!
I bought some when sportshoes had am Easter offer on so 25% off! Covered about 60 miles in it so far, all long runs (for me) of around 15 miles, been really impressed, super comfy, supportive and my legs the next day feel great. A really impressive shoe, especially if you can get a discount code to dull the pain of the price
As a novice I use the Novablast 3 as my everyday shoe; recently bought these and have wore them on a half and full marathon and absolutely love them. Thanks for your reviews and keep up the amazing and inspiring work 💪 🏃♂️
Both my Invincible 2 and Endorphin Speed 2 are at high mileage, so I need to find replacements. My recovery runs are now in More v4, and races are in Endorphin Pro 3, so I need to put something in between these for speed work, intervals and long runs. Looking forward to hearing more about the super blast.
I've recently started using thee invincible original and nimbus 25. I like both though feel like the invincible has more spring than the nimbus. I alternate between the two though look forward to the Nike's more than the asics
Ben, you have any thoughts about using very cushioned trainers all the time? Do you get weak feat or is it just easier on the feet? I personally prefer lower stack shoes, Pegasus is perfect for daily stuff.
I'm new balance fan, and am fortunate to be near an outlet store where I go a previous version for about $55, and got a 2nd pair of the same to be the next in-line replacement in my rotation. Great review video!!
I have the invincible 2 and the superblast and i just keep putting on the superblast. I really love the feel and energy return. I am a 200 lb guy and the Superblast have been excellent. I have put in around 75 miles in them so far. Tempo, intervals, slow days…the Superblast does them all very well.
I initially liked the super blasts but after 100 miles not so, I just can’t seem to run with my proper form in them for some strange reason, they also seem a bit dead now and my legs feel beat up after using them, maybe it’s me. My beat up invincibles feel better 😂 late to this shoe but bought a pair of Nike tempo % recently and I just love them for absolutely everything.
100x better than a Novablast, the Novablast is like the Pegasus alright for an easy run and comfy on foot and that’s where it ends for me. Superblast though I’ve found an excellent all rounder
Before you even opened the package I knew it was the Superblast. It’s basically a lightweight version of the invincible. My favorite daily trainer that is increasingly harder to get is the Novablast 3. I love the cushy springiness of the Novablast 3’s, and I also love the price. I bought my first pair for $80 US dollars and my second pair for $90. I will try the 4’s if they ever get close to that price, but I am not sure if I will like them as much. I am sure I would love the Superblast, but they are a little pricey.
1080v10 I think for me Ben. A shoe I got into because you used to rave about it a few years ago. I do run a lot in the v12 now but if they kept on making the v10 I'd probably still buy that. Endorphin Speed 1 another good shout and a new shoe on the scene which I'm surprised you don't speak about more as it's superb...Takumi Zen 8/9.
I've been dying to find some on sale, but I snagged some Novablast 3's(for $65) recently to log some miles in. I used the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 1's this morning for the first time (got them for $45!!!) for a speed session, and I am in love with those. Will probably be my 5k race shoe also (I'm an intermediate 20-21min 5k kind of runner).
Hi Ben, I purchased a pair of Nike Zoomx Invincible 2 women’s trainer today 16.07.23 £195 + £10 shipping costs.😅 The green colour Nike zoomx invincible 2 cost £130 + £10 shipping cost.👍 Thank you for this video👍 - you remarkably responded to my earlier question to you on your favourite daily trainer. “Two athletes had advised me not to train daily in carbon trainers due to a high possibility of injury?.🧐🤔 Ascics Superblast Running Shoe is in my rotation.👍 Thank you.
My go to shoe... Has been the Nike Pegasus going back to the v29. I just went shopping for a shoe and I came home with another Pegasus 40. I'm crossing my fingers the V41 doesn't change too much with their new foam!
I love them both!! I would say the Invincible is more of an easy/recovery shoe, whereas the Superblast is more of a proper Long Run shoe for marathon runners, capable of doing pick ups and marathon pace etc. My favourite shoe at the moment is the Hoka Mach 5. Absolutely amazing shoe! For me, it does it all (quite literally… I’ve done track sessions in them!)
Superblast is great in any rotation(I'm mixing it with the speed 3) or your one and only. I found for me asics (especially the novablast)runs big, but the superblast is true to size- so maybe something to consider if you are the other way around. I've got 300km+ and the wear is great, just a bit if ripping on the outersole(not as substantial as nova was)- just check after your run for stones that can get stuck as they can pierce the foam.
Just ordered them in the size I use in the speed 3 and was worried they would be too big like the nova blasts 3 in the same size. Glad to know they fit better then the NB3!
Just purchased a pair this evening from ASICS. I loved the Novablast 3’s. I have currently been using the NB/SC Trainer V2 as my daily. Can’t wait to try the Superblast!
Excellent choice...I just got the Superblast too...now my fave tempo workout, longrun and easy shoe! SO I am down to a 3 shoe rotation now. A speed shoe, tempo/long/easy shoe and race shoe...so saves me 1 shoe purchase a year nearly. Bought for 180 and happy at that as the durability is great too.
I normally see Invincibles in my local Nike outlet store in Portsmouth, sure there's some in London if you wanted to buy another. Im tempted by the Superblast but can't justify the cost, love the foam in Novablast and Trabuco Max .
I found myself always reaching for the Superblasts (except races) and now have 500 miles in them. And I just bought another pair. I regularly run light trails with them. Like you, I sized down. These are the only shoes I have ever sized down. One point to emphasize is if you want squishy these are not for you. They are firm and responsive, not squish and bounce.
Got very close to buying the superblast but just couldn't justify the price for (what is for me) an easy/ long day shoe. Ended up with the Nimbus 25 (which i got for £109) and am very happy. It's not as versatile for fast efforts but comfort wise it is stellar.
I'm still mourning the loss of the old style of Adidas Boston shoes. The Boston 8s were my absolute favourites and 9s weren't bad either. Since the 10 they're completely different and I'm gutted!
Best trainers on the market! They are expensive but they will cover double mileage compairing to average shoes. They are my daily, tempo and long run shoes. Light, big stack height, beautiful..
Hi Ben, sorry to disappoint, but they are totally different shoes. the invincible much softer and useable as recovery run, the superblast definitely not. Superblast are great for speed workout or long run at marathon pace, but when your legs are tired they will not work. in my opinion the only shoes that has a similar feel (sinking in the mud :) ) are the new balance sc trainer v2
I’ve got exactly the same problem Ben. Version 2 are the best trainers I’ve ever had. Version 3 give me blisters and I can’t find version 2 anywhere. I’ve just got Nike infinity see what these are like 🙏🏻. If these arnt Whag I need I think I’ll have to leave my beloved Nike and try these ASICS
Ben - invincible 2 still available at Champs Sports…I just bought a pair of white ones like the ones you have in 10.5 and they have other colors as well.
My best daily trainer was Nike Invincible until Superblast came out. Is It expensive? I am not so sure cause Superblasts are able to do anything well, from easy running to race whatever distance you want.
looking to switch out from my invincible 2 myself, love them but want something new and they're at 500 miles! £195 though, even with 15% i can get off, thats ridiculous pricing. Pretty expensive for a daily.
I find it very different to the Invincible, which I use as a recovery shoe, in my last marathon training I bought the Superblast with high hopes to get a even better SC Trainer, which was my absolute favorite long run shoe. Going back a number of years way before carbon plates came onto the scene my favourite shoe was the Nike Zoom Elite before they changed it beyond all recognition.
Just took the same path as you. I was using the Invincible 2 and then changed to Superblast. Not as soft, but sooo much lighter. For those who go to Japan, they should consider getting it there because it is only 22K yen - which is only 120GBP!
Oh wow. I live here in Osaka and have been feeling like its too much overpriced for a shoe. To me 22,000 yen is already expensive because Im not using s diff currency. Thanks for this perspective!
@@rabihyounes747 no. For invincible 2,I went half size down (which is weird because all my Nikes except for invincible 2 have been the same size). For superblast, I went with my normal Nike size. So true to size. (Whereas invincible 2 for me was not)
Got the superblast for $170 ran on invincible 1 and 2's. Was size 11 in Nike and tried on a gel nimbus (for size) and was size 11 so got this in size 11 and just fine. I did get these from Japan.
Hi Ben, running my first marathon next year and looking for my marathon shoe! I have never used a carbon plated shoe and love the novablast... Would you recommend this for me to run London next year? I was looking at the saucony endorphin speed 3 too as the nylon plate is less harsh than a carbon plate? Any advice would be very helpful!
Great Video! Another option is the ON Cloudmonster, a very comparable option with the bounce and amount of cushion to the Invincible 1 and 2. It is also lighter than the Invincibles. It has been one of my favorite trainers and my go to for long runs.
I currently have the Invincible 2 but its’ retirement is way overdue. I also have a pair of the Tempo Next%. Could the superblast and the Tempo Next% be a good 2-shoe rotation (not considering a third race-day shoe)?
I was in the same situation and picked up a pair of Superblasts yesterday. I enjoyed the ride on an easy run and looking forward to taking it out for a long run. I still have an Invincible 2 in my rotation but it will be relegated to only recovery runs.
@@rabihyounes747 no, the store didn't have my normal size in Superblast and had me try a pair a half size down, which fit. They said the Superblast was longer than most shoes.
@@BM24DK I'd say so yeah. I have the 3's and they are good, but the 2's have more pop. I really do love the 2's. I think you'll get 400-500 miles out of them. I did in my first pair

@@ryangonzaga2874 I would (though I use the saucony speed 3).
Superblast is light enough and sturdy enough for a marathon IMO.
Invincible 2 is still my all time fave.
Literally just struck gold yesterday at the Nike outlet and scored a $69 pair
Nice
The Superblast is my favorite shoe right now by far. It might border on my favorite shoe ever honestly.
wat are its competitors for taking number 1 spot?
Superblast is amazing. So much better than the Novablast 3. Just give it time to loosen up.
Actually quite the opposite for me! Superblast was better than Nova 3 but kinda died after 200KM and NB3 is still going strong after 500KM.

It’s a brilliant shoe. I use it for my long runs and race day.
I reckon you will like the new Vomero 17
Great Video! Another option is the ON Cloudmonster, a very comparable option with the bounce and amount of cushion to the Invincible 1 and 2. It is also lighter than the Invincibles. It has been one of my favorite trainers and my go to for long runs.
That price point is steep AF. So glad I stocked up on Invincibles and Peg Turbos.
I currently have the Invincible 2 but its’ retirement is way overdue. I also have a pair of the Tempo Next%. Could the superblast and the Tempo Next% be a good 2-shoe rotation (not considering a third race-day shoe)?
Hi Ben, appreciate this review was a while ago but did you finally buy these in a UK 11.5? and not a UK12 if that’s your norm?
I wonder about the trabuco max then? Similar stack/cushion but ive heard theyre unstable and run short
Question I have: they seem pretty similar to the Novablasts. What qualifies the Superblast to be so much more expensive?
Truly my favorite shoe!
New Balance 1080 has definitely been my favourite. I have quite wide feet and they have a wide version. Has done well for me in all distances/paces.
v12 right?
I was in the same situation and picked up a pair of Superblasts yesterday. I enjoyed the ride on an easy run and looking forward to taking it out for a long run. I still have an Invincible 2 in my rotation but it will be relegated to only recovery runs.
did u get the superblast same size as the invicible 2 ?
@@rabihyounes747 no, the store didn't have my normal size in Superblast and had me try a pair a half size down, which fit. They said the Superblast was longer than most shoes.
thanks for reply, and it fit perfectly or was a bit narrow from the side ?@@andrewescobedo3449
how is it for easy/recovery runs? want something that doesnt feel as heavy as the gel nimbus 25 can do when doing slower paces...
Saucony Speed 2 is my favourite all round shoe. Very difficult to get now. Just got the prime x strung for £140, it is mental haha
is the Speed 2 superior to the latest version (Speed 3?) ? My Speed 2's have almost reached 300 miles so I may need a replacement soon ...
@@BM24DK I'd say so yeah. I have the 3's and they are good, but the 2's have more pop. I really do love the 2's. I think you'll get 400-500 miles out of them. I did in my first pair
I have the Speed 2 and 3. 3 is a disappointment.
Speed 1 and 2 were amazing shoes speed 3 is nice but not same shoe, just got some discounted pro 3s , get a similar ride as the speed 2s .
I only have 100mi on my speed 1 and 70mi on my speed 2. I love them
Such an incredible shoe. Hated the Novablast so it took me awhile to pull the trigger, but hot damn it is good.
whyd u hate novablast?
New Balance 1080s all day long. Great all rounder.
Exceptional shoes. I love them.
