Awwwww thats amazing you was able to germinate some of the Air plant seeds David, I have tried to grow them from seed but wasn't successful, thanks so much for sharing the wonderful update with us, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Tuesday XXXX
It has been so cool growing air plants from seed. They are so incredibly slow-growing though, just like cactus! I should have mentioned in the video that the time lapse was a bit over 6 weeks long. I hope they grow up so that I can share them in a future video. Thanks for stopping by and wishing you all the best over on the green isle.
Have you ever had a hitchhiker meaning a tiny seedling of unknown parentage that has grown on the leaf of one of your Tillandsia? Also, since both varieties were the same Ionantha you are only getting the same plant seeds so it would’ve been more exciting if you would’ve did the cross breeding.
I'm sad to report they died after 6 months or so 😩 I was having a hard time keeping the moisture level right. I think I kept fluctuating between too moist and too dry and eventually lost them. I did collect more seeds since these though and I'd like to try again. Better luck next time I hope!
I love your channel!
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hope to see you again soon. 😊❤️🌱

How are your ionantha seedlings doing?
