@@IamEraaX That was different; King’s Fall was epic, you felt like a true hero. But in DSC, it’s more subtle; you aren’t an epic hero out to destroy a Hive god - you’re simply a visitor to one of the Golden Age’s lost facilities. Deep Stone Lullaby is beautiful, Regicide is epic.
Seeing that... It made me think “This is what the people of the Golden Age were capable of” Hearing about them and seeing them feels like two very different experiences. Seeing what it’s like to be on one of these space-rated machines is its own category. Think about it. We read lore about these amazing ships, we see the remnant of a shattered space station (presumably the ISS) in the skybox of the Moon. Now we’re on a space station, looking out to our sides and seeing another spaceship nearby. I really wish this wasn’t raid-exclusive, or if we could receive an environment like it for exploration.
the ISS orbits earth, the moon station is a diferent one that was probably constructed with similar modualr technology hence the similar look. Also I would love an exploration mode for the raid, no enemies but the crypt ai still has its voice lines and you can just go through the entire raid to get screen shots and hear all its dialouge without callouts drowning it out.
I wish Destiny had more voice recordings like this playing during gameplay. It would integrate so much more of the lore into the game. Reminds me of Bioshock. Doesn't need cutscenes, just great voice actors and have us collect voice clips. I would have loved it.

Honestly I’m very torn on this raid aesthetically it has no rival tbh and I love that they are finally doing what other MMOs have done which is a raid that has a story or is a series of events and not just enter dungeon to kill big boss this raid reminds me of the FF14 raids where there’s a sort of mission sequence occurring, at the same time I really feel like they missed out on the encounters the bosses still suffer from destiny’s issue of the boss just being the same enemy but to damage it do a puzzle that boils down to looking at which text popped up and moving to a certain spot I really wish they had fleshed out the fights making new enemy models and unique animations, Taniks is a new model but he pretty much just floats and shoots with the occasional unique attack I really hope that one day destiny makes a raid of this scale with bosses that feel like a challenge without relying on unnecessary puzzle requirements cause aesthetically and narratively they broke the ceiling with this one
I dunno why people do that. Destiny's soundtracks have been among the best in gaming history, and there are so many tracks I've heard thousands of times but still feel fresh.
After being stick in leviathan when it first came out with all my friends, and then proceeding to get more stuck on garden when it came out, i grew tired of the soundtracks lol. At least for final bosses. It just felt to me like it was an extra way for the boss to say "fuck you" so i turned on some metallica and whatever else i wanted and muted my game. However, whenever there is new stuff, raids, strikes, campaign, that music get's turned back on.
"You now face godlike judgement. May it extend eternally" *ooooof* That shit hits my soul bro. This game needs more music and scenes like this. @@darthandres3428 what does it mean? You now face godlike judgment. May it extend eternally. Is that a compliment or something? Sorry I suck at English
Deep Stone Crypt is now my favorite destiny two raid. The lore, the environment, the encounter design, and the blood, sweat, and tears me n the boys shed in the 13 hours it took to beat it. Just an incredible experience, I don't think I've been this excited about and in love with destiny since traveling into the replication complex and destroying Sivafied Aksis back in D1
I agree, I'm extremely glad I took part in this. I haven't cared to day one any raids since Wrath. My favorite overall was King's Fall but this entire experience was incredibly special. Bungie really nailed the difficulty of this raid for the day one contest mode.
@@universal-remote you can literally put any enemy model in Taniks place and it doesn't make it any less unique. We're not fighting Taniks strike fight in the raid, it's all new encounters.
I was telling a friend of mine about the raid, about that this encounter is the closest we the player will ever get to real space in Destiny. And that music is simpler to Halo. As I was telling him about the third encounter the one where you disarm the nukes, he said that it's just like Halo 2s cutscene the one where Mater Chief jumps trow space in order to disarm a nuke by sending it to the enemy ship and then crashing down to earth. And we do jump trow space, where we proceed to disarm nukes in the third encounter right after we well crash down back to Europa.
I miss my old friends i used to play destiny with, this was last raid i played with whole team and to this day it's my favorite, life was just much easier back then...
Same here. I come back to this video often. It reminds me of happier days in D2 that I know I won’t get to experience again. I’m just glad I have the memories at least.
One of if not the greatest moment in destiny history. When I first exited the space station heard the music and the dialogue I immediately fell back in love with a game I had merely tolerated for a few years.
@@tidussquaal it’s in the orbit of Europa, which itself is a moon of Jupiter, literally within our solar system, much much closer than Nessus or the Reef, bro wtf
The sentimental piano piece that plays as you exit the airlock is by far my favorite song from the games OST. It sets the mood perfectly as you hear the ai ask you if what is happening to the crypt was all worth it, and my team and i on day 1 genuinely sat there for a few minutes just in silence taking in the beauty in front of us.
The track is the same one that plays when you're in orbit I think, really beautiful. Has a nice sci-fi theme to it which, despite being a sci-fi themed game, destiny lacks a lot of.
The music in this area makes you feel the importance of this raid. It also makes you realize how small you are yet how much you can change the the reality inside the game. The eye candy of the scenery is just there to add a cherry on top of everything. I thought VOG was my favorite raid, now I reconsider that choice strongly.
VoG was my favorite as well. This raid has the perfect balance of visuals, encounters, and meaning to it. Encounters aren’t too challenging (nowadays) visuals, well, obviously, and the meaning makes us seem like this raid is us against all odds.
The moment those launch pads sent us to space I fell in love, then this quiet space section with beautiful music cemented this raid as one of my favorites of all time. Not to mention the entire thing crashing down into Europa in the most intense way possible
Can I just note how astronomically unlikely it would be for the space station to crash down directly into the same spot we entered the facility in. Like it could've landed anywhere on Europa
@@Soon22400 That sequence was a failsafe to destroy the facility by dropping that section of the station on the Deep Stone Crypt and detonating the nukes on board. It was pretty clearly guided into place.
That's why in some video I make a few days ago, I said that games are not just some stories, or narratives, they are a "experience". Thanks for the video, Cross and is good to see you as a Hunter!
In my opinion the Deep Stone Crypt is the best raid bungie ever made. The encounters are all very good and the jumping part just makes it better. I have 7 clears right now and my fireteam is still turning up the music and during this part no one is talking and we all just listen to the music and enjoy the atmosphere
Just finished up my 20th run tonight and this is always the part that makes me the most emotional. Even the cries and groans of my teammates failing the jumping puzzle can’t make those moments any less...peaceful.
I did this raid for the first time last night. It was also my first raid. Thankfully I found a person that was looking for inexperienced players because he wanted to teach us how to do it. He didn't hold our hands as he wanted us to try and learn things ourselves, but would offer guidance when we got stuck.. After several wipes.. 5.. Maybe 7 hours later and we were through. Learning the mechanics amidst the chaos was a challange and the nuclear room gave us a fit. I didn't know what to do as the operator and would shoot the consoles too soon, but once we all understood the mechanics and got organized everything went great! Hopefully I can run this again as I had a great time!
This part reminded me so much of the ship jumping section of Kings Fall. Both gave me goosebumps and made me smile. The scale and wonder these sections give off are awesome. Bungie don’t miss
Honestly, VoG is going to be so bland on release compared to the European environment because of just how far Bungie’s design team has come in the last 6 years
@@elvencowboy6851 Little to no evidence for your claim when we've never seen them re-realise a raid before. On the other hand, we've seen them bring back old locations already and the results are not hugely promising.
I didn't buy the new expansion for the game this year. The past expansions made me more interested in other games. The love is, and will always be there still. Watching this section in the race for the first raid clear made my jaw drop. It gave me goosebumps. And it made me realize that Destiny is more than just the gameplay. The astonishing atmosphere of this game is remarkable. To have such a serene moment in a chaotic race for the world's first, or just the raid itself is art in itself. Up until this year, I've played Destiny since 2014. Thanks for this upload, @Aztecross, I'll keep it in a special folder so I can remember it.
Although I wasn't able to participate in the raid myself, watching you go through this after 6 1/2 hours of Atraks hell was absolutely beautiful. This moment alone makes the Deep Stone Crypt in my top 3 favorite raids of all time. I love the vastness of it. You truly feel small in a very large world.
The part at the end of the song, where it suddenly goes back to the intro but louder, is what really hits hard and it's what makes you know the music is god tier.
I found an lfg group on a discord server i joined recently. Deep Stone Crypt was our second raid together, and it was the raid that solidified our friendship. After suffering to Athrax for about 3 hours, almost losing our mind in the process, our sherpa was incredibly patient and he plays with us regularly. After we beat Athrax and were running through, we came to the door and our sherpa said "Okay, turn down your sfx and turn up your dialogue and music and shut up" And so we did. That was for many of us, the best experience we had in destiny as a whole. Suffering for hours through an encounter, and being rewarded with these moments with friends. Even now as im struggling to download witch queen, they arent playing it, but instead waiting for me to finish it so we can play together
I remember the first time I listened to the Beyond Light Soundtrack and came across that song. "Deep Stone Lullaby" is one of the most beautiful and unique songs Bungie have added to this franchise. It's haunting, futuristic and really nails the aesthetic of a long lost secret lab where the dreams of thousands of people transfered from man to machine. Beautiful and tragic.
@@yourstruly4931 Raids generally aren't all that hard, you just need someone who knows how to teach encounters. Most of them are really simple once they're broken down in a way that you can understand (something most online guides have trouble doing), that goes even for ones as scary sounding as Riven.
Reasons why the spacewalk is the best sequence in a destiny raid: •you are in space for the first time ever, meaning all noises besides whatever message is being relayed via your ghost is muted and suppressed immensely •the space walk reveals to us the true nature of what Clovis bray I was like, egomaniacal, judgmental, and possibly megalomaniacal •the two hidden tapes in this section reveal what happened to Elisabeth-1 •*the music* •a hidden chest that can drop you a raid mod like Herd Thinner
The song made me reflect on my past experiences with the game. All raids we all did together, all the people we met on our own journey in this game. They did a really good job on this raid in my opinion.
I am getting goosebumps about the complete silence, other than things your character is touching, or holding. Properly handling sound in an airless environment always gives me goosebumps.
This is years old now and still Deep Stone Lullaby hits different. Impeccable piece of music for this content. Recommend the Dr Lupo live orchestra play through for those who haven't seen it
"Destiny will only get grim beyond light; eyes up guardians🤯🤧😤🥲" This song, Deep Stone Crypt and Elsie Bray's lore about here timeline has gave me a new mood for destiny, "wonder"
Even though I heard it hundreds of times in the tower, once I finally felt, like I was strong enough and asked my friends to do the raid and got to that point, hearing this song in action in the area it was made for, and hearing Clovis talk with it, it all hit me like a truck, shed a genuine tear of happiness
I was there for 12+ hours and while some of my group got angry and quit, i loved every second of atraks. Didn't come close to completing the raid day 1 and getting the emblem, but eh, god the experience was so amazing.
1AU was about preventing the destruction of the entire solar system with epic orchestral pieces, while this is just a *“peaceful”* spacewalk on a space station while appreciating the view of Europa (well afterwards we have to save Europa of turning into spacedust but you get the point)

I remembered experiencing this moment and this video coming out back in 2020... I remember having hope for this game because of it. Now?

Honestly I’m very torn on this raid aesthetically it has no rival tbh and I love that they are finally doing what other MMOs have done which is a raid that has a story or is a series of events and not just enter dungeon to kill big boss this raid reminds me of the FF14 raids where there’s a sort of mission sequence occurring, at the same time I really feel like they missed out on the encounters the bosses still suffer from destiny’s issue of the boss just being the same enemy but to damage it do a puzzle that boils down to looking at which text popped up and moving to a certain spot I really wish they had fleshed out the fights making new enemy models and unique animations, Taniks is a new model but he pretty much just floats and shoots with the occasional unique attack
I really hope that one day destiny makes a raid of this scale with bosses that feel like a challenge without relying on unnecessary puzzle requirements cause aesthetically and narratively they broke the ceiling with this one

the Music just hits different when it comes to Destiny
What’s the song name?
Deep Stone Lullaby
The track is the same one that plays when you're in orbit I think, really beautiful. Has a nice sci-fi theme to it which, despite being a sci-fi themed game, destiny lacks a lot of.
This track. The track when you lose your light after the red war, and the d2 vanilla track (mild trumpets) all amazing.
Man...The music, the atmosphere, Clovis talking down to us, is just perfect.
Deep stone lullaby is magnificent and the Morning Star is why people love Destiny so much
The music in this area makes you feel the importance of this raid.

After we beat Athrax and were running through, we came to the door and our sherpa said "Okay, turn down your sfx and turn up your dialogue and music and shut up"

Reasons why the spacewalk is the best sequence in a destiny raid:
•you are in space for the first time ever, meaning all noises besides whatever message is being relayed via your ghost is muted and suppressed immensely
