The way that this entire cast embody their roles doesn’t even feel like I’m watching a show anymore they feel like family in a way! And hearing and seeing how they know their characters so well man the casting crew nailed it 4 seasons in a row now and I don’t think that’s going to stop anytime soon 😭
I totally agree. It’s rare that a show touches viewers in this way: the idea that there is genuine, mutual affection and respect among cast and crew members is a part of the magic for me. And that is at least in part due to the deft casting/hiring choices.
Personally I liked the Featheringtons redemption arc but with Sophies family I hope they go the route off "leave your toxic a** family behind and never look back. you don´t need to forgive them"
I hope there will be the traditional videos of the previous couple welcoming the next couple. It will be cute to see Luke N passing the torch to Luke T -- from younger brother to older brother. Nicola's and Yerin's video will likely be sweet and humorous as well. 😊
I'm not worried about Simone. The article says, "SO FAR." I'm 99.9999999% sure she'll be back, and I'm sure it will be announced in the next list round up.
Previously they filmed two episodes at a time, in chronological order. It is possible that this is the cast for the first two or four episodes. Kathnony is in India - it would make sense for them to return in the latter half of the series.
I think it will be revealed when they need more hype for the season. Cuz they know people are anxious to know

There are so many ways to incorporate Benedict's sexuality sensitively without there being a love triangle between Sophie/Ben/A man. I imagine Sophie will be very accepting of his sexuality and he'll probably end up telling Eloise. And let's not forget, he's going to be an ally for Francesca down the line too. On the What a Barb! podcast, Lekki had a cool idea that maybe the story take some inspiration from 12th night and Mulan. Where after the masquerade ball, Sophie disguises herself as a man and works as a valet or footman in the household. So Benedict meets her in her male persona and falls for her despite thinking she's a man, which would make sense because we've already established that he can be attracted to a man. It's a great way to integrate Ben's queerness naturally into the story without adding an additional character to take screentime away from the remain couple. I think that would be so much fun.

Well that’s not happening. The dress has already been revealed and confirmed and Yerin already confirmed she had fitting for a MAIDS costume. Benedict is pan and Sophie doesn’t need to lose her femininity to confirm his queerness.
I think in the book it’s mentioned that Araminta is in her 40s so it does make sense to cast someone around that age. Also one thing I love about Benedict in the book is that when he goes to their house to look for Sophie, he notices that Araminta is really pushing Rosamund in his favor so he decides to give his attention to Posy 😊 also as for his bisexual/pansexual story I think they’re gonna show that he’s having random hook ups with both men and women before he meets Sophie.

I wonder if, when his search doesn’t work out at first, he’s going to spiral by trying to go back to being a rake. (And maybe struggle to do so in the same way Colin did.)

@@Raealwaysreads that’s what I’m thinking as well. Also because in the book there’s that time jump of 2 years before they meet again so it’s possible that they will show him being a rake in between that time

My new hobby is to imagine what songs would match each one of their moments together. I'm assuming there will be many K-pop songs on the soundtrack which is exciting to me. I don’t understand how they made Luke Thompson more attractive but somehow they did!!
Also I love that they built the sets, I think we will have an announcement of future seasons having been commissioned soon as that’s a lot of money to spend.
It will make filming easier and the seasons could film quicker. I read an article where Shonda mentioned about getting permanent sets.

Benedict's raking around will probably be at the first part, and I agree with you about all of that.
Maybe Simones contract wasnt signed when the announcement was written and that is why they didnt include her.

I’ve waited years for their story and so far for everything that has gotten out I’m very pleased and seems like they are staying faithful to their story ❤ also Yerin is the best woman I would ever picked for Sophie. I'm actually really looking forward to 'simpler' costuming for a lead! (Not that I don't love the insanity of the wardrobe dept on this show) but PERSONALLY in historical shows the outfits I tend to love best are the dressed-down simpler looks. (Men in white linen shirts with their slutty slutty sleeves rolled up past their forearms, women in their chemises etc. KATE IN THE LIBRARY IN HER NIGHTDRESS COULD HAVE BEEN THE ENTIRE SEASON FOR ME like god damn it feels good to be a bisexual romantic.)
I'm just saying, if Sophie has a limited wardrobe then there should be a scene where Benedict finds her alone late at night in the servant's quarters trying to wash a mark out from the garment she has to wear for work the next day. (THE CONTRAST OF PERMA-PARTYBOY BENEDICT VERSUS 'I LITERALLY HAVE TO WORK TO SURVIVE EACH DAY' SOPHIE LIKE SHE IS GONNA REALITY CHECK HIS PRIVILEGED ASS INTO ANOTHER DIMENSION. SIR YOU THINK YOURSELF A FRIEND AND CHAMPION TO THE BOHEMIAN LABOURER? TRY AGAIN. YOU GOT PAINT ALL OVER HER APRON WHEN YOU TOUCHED HER YOU SLOPPY JERK, SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO CLEAN THAT UP.)
Also I hope Eloise gets to approvingly witness Sophie giving Benedict a set-down 'cause she's going through a similar journey herself of reckoning with her own luxuries of financial and emotional security with a supportive and wealthy family whereas other women and poorer people out there are like how am I going to live and also with the Swingset Kids having the bond they do I feel like the Sibling Heart to Heart that's gonna help set Benedict on the right path to his happy ever after comes from Eloise, like IT HAS TO. Of course Violet will also have her moment to give her kid the pep talk they require but every lead gets a talking-to from a sibling at some point, as well.
I just finished the book. I am very excited to hear there is a lake scene. I trust the casting department with my life at this point. They have their magic formula that seems to hit spot on.

I could see them characterising Araminta in the same way they did the step-mother in the Live Action Cinderella: make us understand why she does what she does to Sophie without making us fully sympathise with her. In the LA, step-mother briefly mentions that Cinderella is young and beautiful, implying that the step mother may have been overlooked because she was older and "less beautigul" and so she had to work harder to get the step-daughters to the comfortable lifestyle they had. Of course, this doesn't justify her actions towards Cinderella, but it moreso gives us a why.
The mask reveal would be a great thing with all of them would be great. I love that it's an Asian cast!! People were upset with what the book had to say about Benedict's proposal. That stuff happened a lot in that time. People really should read up on that period of history. Keep doing what you are doing, Sammy.😜
I wonder if she will be Pens new ladies maid or housemaid. If you think about it Pen n Colin will need to be setting up their new household since they will be moving into Featherington house. Which would be a larger household than their previous one. Rey could take over for Mrs. V. because naturally she would go with Mrs. Featherington. Leaving Pen in needed of a new ladies maid and who better than someone your brother in law recommends.

That’s a lovely idea and would be nice to see Sophie and Pen bond over their experience with difficult moms/sisters.
I think it would be fun to see it play out that way... Plus with them being the same age just seems easier for them to bond than her and Violet.
idk if you read the book or not, but sophie work with violet makes more sense than pen. benedict comes to violet's house to meet sophie, just her. violet play a big role for benophie love story and i kinda hope the show keeps it that way.
I did but all the girls but HY are now out of the house and if the cast list is right Kate won't be around either. That changes the whole household structure. I see Violet going over to Pens house to see the baby more than them going there for tea time. Ya know they like to make changes like that... but who knows @ruwoopy
Yerin and Luke T look good together. Michelle Mao is stunning. I'm sure she'll be a true villain. I can imagine Rosamund will create the most obstacles between Ben and Sophie, whether through misunderstandings or pretending to be the Lady in Silver at some point. Ben is portrayed as someone who goes against societal norms, but in the shadows. Therefore, it would make sense, like in the book, for him to propose that Sophie be his mistress, fitting with his character that moves on the fringes of society but stays hidden to avoid judgment. At 30, he hasn't made progress, hiding behind his bohemian attitude and being the second brother, fleeing responsibilities. It would be great for the plot to explore what angers him, what his dark side is, and if he'll confess to Sophie that he’s attracted to both men and women. How has his father's death affected him? But knowing Jess, it's likely she’ll focus more on Sophie than Ben, as she likes to empower female characters, which is fine too. Perhaps we'll see him return to art school, where he'll continue exploring his sexual identity in the wild parties there in early episodes, but when all the fun is over, he'll get to work painting portraits of his Lady in Silver.

I really hope it´s not a love triangle like it was between Anthony/Kate/Edwina or Daphne/Simon/Prince Friedrich or Pen/colin/Lord Deblings. I hope it´s more like "oh Rosamund is interested in him" but clearly nothing else is going to happen

On your question of the height difference between Luke and Yerin, the only measurement that really matters is the one between lip and hip,,, my ol' man was 6'3" and I was 5'2 & a half,,, believe me, everything worked juuust fiiinnne ... 😉
Can't wait for the new season, I just wish they'd bang 'em out a bit quicker, 2+ years is a bloody long wait and none of us is getting any younger... If they stick with this kind of schedule, it'll be somewhere around 2032 when the last one comes out, and I'll be a decrepit old lady by then,,, that's if I'm still kickin'...🤣🤣

I am still crying over the Polin season being over. I would die if they made a Violet season for 2025 like they did with QC last year. However, i will be only looking forward to the Polin, Violet and Eloise story lines in S4, as the others do not interest me at all😢😢

Part of Sophie’s story is class differential. The Mondriches are some of the few characters that we have who were not always part of the ton. It’s very possible the Mondriches could be important during Benedict’s journey.
@@Raealwaysreads the Mondrichs have served in all seasons. Starting with the Duke. The Mondrichs are a plot device to explain the world of the ton to those watching Bridgerton & that era for the first time. I’m sure at some point, possibly Gregory’s, they will gain in import. Gregory will not have brothers to cavort with, but he will have the Baron & we will be invested.

I only hope that the article with Simone is simply because nothing has been properly confirmed. It would not paint this production in a good light at all if it was an oversight because this would not be the first time that Simone wasn’t treated well by the show in terms of promo and writing for her character.
I also hope that when it comes to Yerin she will be treated like the lead and not be sidelined for the sake of bright and light characters because that would further expose the pattern of the show’s treatment of the POC.
I know they are based on the same story, but it sound's a lot like "Ever after," especially that scene when the prince presents his wife at the end.
I adore that movie so if they give me Ever After vibes, I will be elated

I honestly think they are trying to get promotion out of Simone. They know people want her back. We know Polin and the Bridgerton are usually back.
So when it’s time to hype the season they will reveal her coming back to get people talking again.

You know, I must say: I wonder if we will have at least one season where a Bridgerton is not a great dancer. I know we have seen that with Eloise but it would be kinda nice of they allowed that to remain with her character when it’s her turn, because I did just think about how every sibling and their spouse has suddenly become fabulous dancers. We need at least ONE bad dancer in the family! 😂🤌🏽
