    I'm so excited to be able to make this video -- I just wrapped up my FIRST month monetized on UA-cam as an artist with fewer than 3,000 subscribers (spoiler alert: I made MORE money than I thought I would) 🤯
    I'm all about growing my channel slowly and steadily, so while I'm not baking on my channel blowing up, I AM super grateful to be able to make a little money doing something that I've been doing free for a long time.
    Thank YOU for helping make my dreams come true!

    So... please forgive me if this suggestion is out of line. I really enjoy your content. I notice that on your profile you say you're a surface pattern designer "in training", and you open your videos with how itty-bitty your business is. Obviously you are progressing in great strides all of the time, so probably this word choice isn't hurting you, but I believe at some point you mentioned believing in affirmations as well as goal-setting. In terms of using your words (which are all affirmations) correctly, you aren't a surface pattern designer "in training", you are a surfaced pattern designer now. You do it regularly. Also, your business may be itty-bitty, but you won't want your wording choices to affirm its staying that way. Your business is "growing", not any particular size, small or large, right now. If nothing else, I've now left a comment for the algorithm. :)

      Hi Teresa!! This is such a great take. I haven't looked at the description on my profile in quite a while, so this is a great reminder that I should probably update that across platforms. Of course, there's also a healthy dose of imposter syndrome that's probably holding me back -- in my mind, I feel like I'm stuck in the "in training" zone until I actually license my artwork... but I also really believe in what you're saying about affirmations! I think I had been thinking about the "itty-bitty" thing as a way to make it more relatable to people, and I hadn't really thought about it potentially holding me back, but now that I think about it I totally see where you're coming from. I like your "growing" framing! I'm definitely going to be rethinking some of this stuff -- thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! I really appreciate it!

    Love this. I also started with a completely different channel. I got monitized on my old channel but stopped feeling connected with it and kinda just let it... fade out. I feel like I would shock my old viewers with such a difference in content, and it might hurt my growth when none of the old viewers clicked on the new videos I was going to release, so I decided to start fresh. And here I am with one short and 3 subs hahaha 🎉. You randomly popped up as I was looking for videos about artists creating their own businesses. Excited to follow your journey! 🌱 if you wanna add to your online artist friend circle, I'd be happy to have some people like me who are closer to the start of their journey to cheer on. Anyway, best of luck! 🤎

      Make it 4 subs!! I’ve been thinking about ways to try and connect with other online artist friends like us because it turns out there are a lot of us out there!! It’s cool to know that my channel popped up for you when you were searching that stuff!

      @ItsVesperArt 4 місяці тому

      @@pepostudios Awesome! Yes, I feel like it makes the journey a lot nicer if you have a friend circle doing the same thing, and that's the advice I always hear too. But then I think, where do you find such folks? But then I saw you and thought, oh yes, I can relate to her for sure, let's reach out! And here we are. But yeah, at least when times are slow, you've got someone to commiserate with, and then of course to celebrate each other's wins, too. I just moved into a new place so I'm slow on creating new content but I'll jump in head first soon. Like you, I also have a STEM day job (I'm a web developer) and right now I'm drowning in some late projects. I find myself daydreaming about them being done asap so I can fulfill all my ideas about making videos. I find silent, and even voiceover vlogs really comforting, so I might give that a try (although the sound of my own voice still makes me cringe myself into the ground lol). I'm not really nervous to be in front of the camera, but it would be lovely to not have to make myself look presentable hahaha I found myself dreading making videos toward the end of my last channel because I hated feeling like I had to do my hair and makeup for them, so I think I'll try to remove that roadblock for myself this time around. You can add me on Insta if you want, it's also a fresh account, which I currently don't use much, but will more when I start adding content. My username is @itsvesperart :)

    I’m interested in what video editing tools you use. With an oversaturated surface design and pattern market, it is tough these days to make any money from print demand stores. Cat Coq interviewed with Bonnie Christine on this topc. Sounds like YT is a better choice.

    I found you on the Surface Pattern Design Progress in 7 Months video. It was recommended after I watched a stained glass pattern design video.
    I clicked on it because I'm at the very start of working with stained glass, and I thought your progress video would boost my confidence a bit. Plus I liked the thumbnail side-by-side picture and had never heard of surface pattern design before, so my curiosity was peaked. (btw I really like the color pallette of your first design 😆)
    I was only going to watch a couple minutes because I didn't want to distract myself, but I watched the whole video because I thoroughly enjoyed your self talk. I liked hearing you honestly critique yourself in such a way that was encouraging and progress oriented.
    In the past I've been too hard on myself and will get frustrated and just give up on projects. I think I've just been in a mental twist, with my self worth being tangled up in what I do, and how well it's done.
    In your video, I could see the clear distinction of you as a person and your art as it's own separate thing. It was refreshing to see your natural positivity.
    I absolutely loved the part when you showed the fabrics and were so excited about having something tangible from what was once an idea in your head. SO encouraging to me! I really want to see my own visions as objects I can hold, oooh and aahhh at 😆
    My first stained glass project is so messy 😂 There are things I like and dislike about it, but I learned some stuff and I'm so proud I actually did it! Feels like I'm taking seriously a lifelong dream of being an artist. Never thought it would be glass breaking that would lead me in the right direction, but I am happy doing it. I definitely need to improve the soldering, but I don't feel defeated this time. Happy to keep growing.
    Peace to you and well wishes for Pepo Studios

I’ve never really thought about the way I separate my art from myself, but I think you’re definitely onto something. That’s really interesting, and something I’m going to think about some more.
      I think it’s SO cool that you’re working on stained glass! I occasionally see videos of people making stained glass artwork and it really blows my mind. It’s an amazing craft! I’m wishing you all the best on your creative journey. You are making the world more beautiful!
