11 years and 130+ songs of pure greatness 🔥❤️ They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent Groove 🔥❤️ Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist, is most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock’n Roll Star on stage. For me they are the Greatest band of our time ❤️ Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘
You are on the money. Miku (Red Rose) singer, and the founder of the band, worked in a Maid Cafe and wanted to form a band of maids to play cool (rock) music, in contrast to the costumes. She called it "The Gap". She also writes the lyrics, all of which have a positive message about life situations. The band was formed very organically. She found the guitarist (Kanami) on the internet, who knew a drummer (Akane) that she used on her demos, who knew a Bass player (Misa) from music school in Tokyo. Saiki- lead singer (Blue rose) was found when Miku decided her voice alone was not big enough for the music that they played. You will find that the fans (Maidiacs) are very respectful and caring toward our ladies. Great reaction- Thanks (UK).
BAND MAID has been the best hard rock band on the circuit for several years now. This song was featured in the Netflix film KATE ... in the bar scene ... there was a good cameo of the band playing on the bar stage. They also used the song BLOOMING in the car chase scene. BAND MAID is: Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, PR (Band founder, lyricist ... our flappy pigeon, po!) Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar (musical composer extraordinaire - the princess) Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, percussion (see bananas ... and ramen - the gorilla) Misa - bass guitar (drinks hard liquor and performs without shoes on stage - the barefoot assassin) Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals ("we dance in the palm of her hand" - Domination - The Queen)
The lead guitarist is Kanami Tono, apart from her superb guitar skills she is a genius composer and virtually everything musically from the last 8 years is her work, with important contributions from the rest of the band. Miku Kobato (rhythm) is the primary lyricist but Saiki (vocals) is now writing more, 6 songs so far with 4 off their new album Epic Narratives released only a few weeks ago.
Okay, here's the thing. That big smile on your face will happen so often with this band that you'll need pain killers for your jaw!!! Massive talent, hard working, and extremely humble. And that's not the half of it. Best rock band in the universe right now and that's not an exaggeration. And you'll also find that the songs are all over the place genre-wise, often in the same song. They can go much harder than this, or much softer. They can do beautiful, punk or complete chaos. They are truly unreal.

I had not heard of Band-Maid just a year ago but since then I've realized they are one of the best bands in the world. The more you listen to them the more you like them and realize how amazingly good they are. Their songwriting is fantastic collaboration, each is a virtuoso musician who works hard at their craft, they all have this amazing connection to each other that shows in everything they do. Everything about them is positive and they love their fans. Watch some live videos next.

THE best Rock band on Earth. They are even better live! (HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the 21st to Miku, band founder, main lyricist, rhythm guitarist) PS! You nailed it with the outfits...Miku, the band founder, was working in a maid cafe when she first came up with the idea of forming a band and decided wearing maid costumes while playing Hard Rock would, as you say, create what I call cognitive dissonance and what Miku called 'The Gap'. She also chose the aesthetic of black and white costumes - or 'Battledress' as they call it - with just a splash of colour in Miku's and Saiki headdresses (blue and red roses) because those are the guiding principles of the Japanese Sumi-e ink painting school.
I could go on for like, a month about this band, but I'll just make two quick points. One: Band-Maid is the best, most complete band I have ever experienced (and I've revolved around the Earth 60 times). Two: I bet you didn't expect to get this many views when you uploaded this reaction. 🤣 It's what we Maidiacs like to call "The Power of the Maids". Be well and thanks so much, Angel! 🕊
Great that you appreciated what they call the "gap" between their presentation and their music. Band-Maid really has all the skills when it comes to rock: genius compositions, a variety of musical styles, talented performers, entertaining shows, you name it. Their catalog is deep and worth plumbing if you're up for the best rock act performing today.
Best band this short century. Genuinely, after well over a decade of cynicism towards new music, I heard part of the song Blooming in the movie Kate, quickly used Shazam to save it for later, then I heard Choose Me, stopped the movie, Shazamed it and listened to it on Spotify like 3 or 4 times in a row, then watched the rest of the movie, listened to Choose Me three more times after that, then the next song started, Thrill, and 15 seconds declared they were the best band this decade; no joke. Little did I know I was underselling them. It was only after that when I looked them up on Wikipedia did I find out about the maid outfits (or being all female ftm). Hard to believe the hardest rocking band on the planet is an Japanese all-female band with enough humor and humility to dress in pretty modest maid outfits. Then a couple days after listening to their first and last album, I remembered there was that other exciting song that sounded really interested in. Only then when I pulled it back up did I realize that it was also Band-Maid. 😮
BAND-MAID のライブビデオで お勧めするのは HATE? (Official Live Video) と FREEDOM (Official Live Video) です! ギター vs ベースのソロバトルや、素晴らしいドラムソロを ご覧になれます。 The BAND-MAID live videos I recommend are " HATE? (Official Live Video) " and " FREEDOM (Official Live Video) " ! You can see the guitar vs bass solo battle and the amazing drum solo.
Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world behind the US, and they are making a huge impact. The amount of talent is ridiculous !! 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘 I've seen the Maids 3 times.....they are awesome !
I grew up on the classic bands of the 60's 70's and 80's, saw Queen, Deep Purple, Zeppelin and many more live. Band-Maid are as good a live band as any of those--I've seen them three times so far and every time was amazing. Thank you for checking them out!
Band Maid's talent caught the attention of an amazing female rock band from Mexico and visa versa. "The Warning" just recently did a collab with "Band-Maid" in Tokyo.
Welcome home Princess…Band-Maid refers to their lady fans as Princess and male fans as Masters. Concerts are Okyuji (servings) and the pigeon will cast a magic spell on you if go to one! This magic spell will make each Okyuji special. This will all make sense if you keep reacting…so please do! These ladies rock and have fun which doing it. 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Choose Me is a very popular BM song but is the tip of a massive iceberg, hope you continue with them as they never disappoint and live they are spectacular. Love your hair btw
Great reaction and you've just discover the best rock band in the world that will put a smile on your face while rocking the house down. This is a very talented band and the guitarist you mentioned in the main composer for the band, Kanami, a beast on the guitar but a quite and unassuming genius (except when she steps on the stage). Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid.
The rockin' out guitarist is Kanami Töno, otherwise known as Mincho to her fans and band mates. She has played piano since she was a toddler and learned to play guitar in high school music club, going on to post rock guitar covers online. Band-Maid can likely play "Choose Me" in their sleep, they've played it live over 170 times. I've seen them at a huge arena concert playing "Choose Me" while running around through the audience. This is one of their 'go to' pieces for TV and PR since they they know they nail it 100% of the time. In case you think they're lip-syncing to a backing track, I've seen them perform live and they are not doing that. Kanami in particular has enough variance in her performance that you can tell she's not faking it: she is the real deal. When I saw that you were responding to a viewer suggestion, a number of viewer tags went thru my head. and BM4Life was one of them. We are the Maidiacs and we love seeing people react to Band-Maid for the first time. The wonderful thing about Band-Maid is that it doesn't matter what song you pick, it will be unique, the composition well thought out, performed immaculately, with thoughtful lyrics sung to perfection. These five women and their team are some of the hardest working people in show business.
Please see Dominate live 2020 and Hate? live at Yokohama. These girls a best live, Be aware if you see these 3 clips you may be addicted for life , but in a good way. Join us Maidiacs in following them, you won't regret it. cheers from Australia and keep up the good reactions. Thanks from the Maidiacs too.
Great video! And you nailed exactly what the point of the 'Maid' aesthetic! The deeper story is the band was created by the other guitarist, with the red flower in her hair- Miku. She had worked in some Maid Cafes, and she really liked the look. And she had won a national casting tv contest to join a Idol band, but when that fizzled after only a year, she decided she wanted to sing rock music in a band, and she thought her pitch would be - a band of young cute girls wearing maid outfits, but who could play serious music. And she got a deal to create Band-Maid based on that pitch. And they are so talented, with the bass player (Misa) and guitarist (Kanami) leading the way - these are some of the top rock musicians in the world at what they do. And Akane the drummer isn't far behind. Miku is the rhythm guitarist - and she learned to play from Kanami, after the band was formed. Miku was also going to be the lead singer- that was her dream - but they quickly realized, she doesn't have enough edge in her voice for hard core rock music. So she helped recruit the main singer, Saiki, and changed her own role to be the back--ground (2nd lead, really) singer. Here's a great little history of the band, just put out a couple weeks ago, by a amazing member of the community, Ohrenje. He has created a full channel with amazing documentaries on each member, and for a deeper dive, I recommend it highly! ua-cam.com/video/zRvWuMqDMtk/v-deo.htmlsi=3NNgkj3e180Q79WI Choose Me is a good intro - but something else about Band-Maid; the common description is that they have over 130 songs done over 11 years - and none of them sound alike! Choose-Me is one of their more straight forward pop-punk style songs, which they have several. But if you go deeper into their catalogue, you'll find almost every genre there is. Their latest video/song released a couple weeks ago, Forbidden Tale, people keep saying is like 5 songs in one. Because that's what they do. Excellent video Angel, love your insights!
Speaking of Harajuku... if you like Metal, there is an all female Metalcore band called HANABIE (Huh-nah-bee-eh). They call their music harajuku-core. Try their song, Be the Gal Early Summer ver. Thank you! They are my 3rd favorite band behind Band-Maid and Bray me (another all female Japanese band). I have seen HANABIE twice now and Band-Maid 3x. :)
Band-Maid's music always puts a smile on my face and their songs sing in my heart. They make my day brighter. For this I owe them a debt I can never repay enough.
oooooh if you like harujuku culture you gotta check out Hanabie -- Be the Gal (early summer version), you'll love it! also you were spot on describing what Miku the founder of BAND-MAID calls the "gap". She used to work in a maid cafe and originally wanted to be and Idol singer which she ended up not likeing but then she had the idea of combining the maid look with rock music and BAND-MAID was born!
“Hell yeah! These girls rock!” You have no idea! You haven’t even scratched the surface! Thank you for reacting to our Maids! Just wait until you start going through their discography. They are an incredible hard rocking band! Here are a few more Band-Maid songs that will make you smile. HATE? (live at Yokohama) The Non-fiction days (MV) From now on (MV) Don’t you tell me (live) SHAMBLES (MV) ONSET (live) MANNERS ( MV) REAL EXISTENCE( MV) That will do for starters, but I could easily list 40 more absolute bangers! Welcome down the pigeon hole! Welcome to the amazing music of Band-Maid!
You mentioned that your channel was about various topics, including mental health, etc. The lyrics of Band Maid songs are mostly positive. Be yourself, don't hesitate, seize the moment....While the backup singer, rhythm guitarist and band founder, Miku writes most of the lyrics, these gals succeed on collaboration in composing their large catalog of music. Check out their seven part biography series by Ohrenje. Each of the five band members has a story that can inspire young people, especially young girls, on pursuing life goals. They also show that band members can be best friends, and their genuine smiling faces throughout their live concerts show us that even after a decade of performing, they still love their job. Not many bands composed a love song to their fans during the pandemic or put on virtual concerts during that time.
Thanks for taking BM4L's request. Great reaction Angel, "Hell yeah"? hell yeah! I love how you understood the aesthetic instantly. Sounds like you're going to have some great content on the channel (gotta love Gwen, the woman with the most rock attitude); subbed! I'm looking forward to what you have coming, hopefully to include reacting to more Band-Maid soon!
The maid's gimmick/imagery came from the Akihabara, Tokyo maid cafes, where founder Miku Kobato (backing vocals, rhythm guitar and main lyricist) used to work... for a brief time she was also member of a three-piece Idol group... interestingly, at some point she was the only member of the band without any formal music education.😉
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. Other people have given information about the band, so I'll just content myself with telling you that Band-Maid fans call themselves Maidiacs - because we are geniunely crazy for the band. It helps that Band-Maid is the best progressive hard rock band in the world. I hope you decide to dive much, much further down the pigeon hole. They've been together for 11 years and have 100+ songs in the back calalogue and, truthfully, they are all fantastic. Perhaps try reacting to "Alone" (MV), or "Domination" (Live), or "Freedom" (Live), or "Play" (Live), or Dice (MV). But really you can't go wrong with any song you choose. Great reaction. New sub here. Peace from the land of Oz. 🤘🤘
You picked one of the most positive, uplifting bands in the world who have one of the most devoted and loving fan bases in the world! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. I highly recommend the documentaries.
There's a club scene in Kate, where BAND-MAID are playing in the background. Most of the time their 'live' performances are the best - partly because they add stuff to tthem, partly because the Maids REALLY have a great rapport with the audience and they feed of each other. There are exceptions, though, partly because sometimes there's no 'live' version, like "Influencer". Kanami is the lead guitarist, MISA is the bas player, Akane is the drummer, Saiki is the singer - and Miku is the band founder, rythm guitar and second vocalist (I say 'second' because while she usually plays support, she sometimes takes over the vocal duties) - she's also the Emcee and comedienne who entertains with stories and other japes!
Welcome, Angel. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (144 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 80 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, You, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, The One, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 33 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 32 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. Above all things, these ladies bring smiles, are funny and super talented. They have many silly life moment videos. The best experience is LIVE Band-Maid. Watch live videos and TRY NOT TO SMILE!
Actually Band Maid is a tremendous live band and Is really best that way. They intermix all geres into their music. Watch HATE? live from Yokohama Arena and have your socks blown off. There's another all female metal band from Japan that you should check out. They're amazing too.
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. While they don't class themselves as a metal band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
Plenty more to discover here, thoroughly recommend that you check out some more. Big range from ballad to punk to metal. Dip in ;) You might also find Lovebites and The Warning interesting….world-class female rock bands….
*BAND-MAID* is my all-time favorite band. Glad you enjoyed them. Their catalogue of songs is vast and varied. Now, you mentioned a love of Harajuku street fashion, so I have to recommend the band *Hanabie* (Ha-na-be-eh). The bands look, and even sound, is heavy heavily influenced by Harajuku street fashion, specifically _gyaru_ culture. They even refer to their musical style as _Harajuku-core._ Normally I would recommend the song 'We Love Sweets' for a first time viewing, but I think 'Be the GAL, early summer ver.' is the best choice here. If you are up for something a little different, check them out.
Thank you so much! I am so happy to receive such great vibes from Band-Maid fans! Also, thanks for taking the time to write very specific instructions on who I can listen to next.
Nice raction. Started following them long before Kate. Songs for every mood in their extensive catalogue (@ 140 songs). THey never fail to lify my mood with the music and life enhancing lyric.
Welcome to the world of Band Maid the best band on the planet. It seems by the smiles throughout the video that you approved even without saying a word. This band is incredibly talented with over 130 songs most of which each new one will be one your “ new “ favorite song. They are very positive as a group and they love their fans. Their music is primarily hard rock but they cover different genres sometimes in the same song. Kanami the lead guitarist who writes all of their music has been called a musical genius. The music is soooo good and the emotion that comes to mind while listening would be joy. Glad you enjoyed the video jump in and enjoy the ride you won’t be disappointed
@@angelsayslife glad you liked the video. Some suggestions YOLO which was written in part on piano before the group was formed, Moratorium live, Daydreaming live, Unleash which is partially anime, and the Manners @ BlackHole twofer which shows two of the varying styles they are capable of in one video.
It's time to listen to today's best hard rock band on the planet . Check out BAND-MAID Turn Me On Live in Tokyo 2018 . Thank you very much . Put on your seat belt .
Band Maid is an amazingly upbeat band, both their music and their delivery. Their video for "After Life" takes place in a cafe. Check out "From Now On" for a lot more Kanami. I miss No Doubt. I love the paintings! Cheers.
Congratulations on discovering one of the best hard rock bands ever ! These ladies are so talented and shine when performing live . I would suggest the other song in the movie KATE "Blooming" Official MV is one of their best ! Thanks Nice Reaction =)
Here come the Maidiacs! They are just as good live as they are in the studio. Pick another, any other. Their genre is Band-Maid as they often mix genres into one song. This is an older song but I'm sure any song you pick will interest you. (By the way, MISA is one of my favorite bassists.)
And a thing about the maid outfits, Angel: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
There is so much more where this came from. In Japan, there currently are so many girls that do rock and metal. I highly recommend checking out Lovebites (song suggestion: Holy War Live) and Nemophila (song suggestions: Dissension, Adabana or AMA-TE-RAS)
Angel, without being overly enthusiastic, I'm telli g you may have discovered the best rock band on this planet. If you are willing to explore their music further (despite some language barriers), you will find they incredible musical talent of this young Japanese female band. I'm 75 years old and have seen and heard the music of some of the most iconic rock bands in history. My discovery of Band-Maid has opened my eyes of how talented Japanese female rockers, with Band-Maid at the forwfront. I have attended two of their live concerts and I can say without a doubt they were two of the best events I have seen in my long life
Great reaction! Welcome to the wide wonderful world of Band-Maid. I put together a "best of" playlist of Band-Maid's videos on UA-cam -- people will disagree on some of my inclusions and exclusions, but that's part of the fun of being a fan of the best rock band in the world. ua-cam.com/play/PLtCFFsx6MZNfCl88o2JeZ_RR3_CDeK6Ib.html
So - You like Harajuku street fashion? I then come to think of another band. They are playing something called Harajuku-core. They are called Hanabie (ha-na-bee-eh). Its hard stuff. Really hard stuff, but with a cute twist. Maybe you shall look at the video for "Be That Gal" ? Generally the best start with the band is "We love sweets". They also have some songs regarding Japanese culture and also online/gaming culture. Their songs almost always has a kind of serious theme. Personally I would call their style "metal core and prog core, heavy and cute, with Harajuku influences!"
You've just opened up a very deep rabbit hole that you're not going to wan to come up from for awhile! Band-Maid is just one of many elite-level all-female bands that Japan is just brimming over with. Several are on the hard rock side, most are more on the metal side. If you like Harajuku fashion mixed into the music, you'll want to check out Hanabie, who as Harajuku Gyaru themselves call their style "Harajuku-core." Gacharic Spin, which are more prog-rock, also have a strong Harajuku vibe. If you like the goth lolita culture, BABYMETAL wore that style early on when they were teens, though nowadays they have a more sci-fi or anime warrior aesthetic as adults. Other bands that have unique visual themes include LOVEBITES, Hagane, and Fate Gear. And there is Wagakki Band, which combines traditional Japanese folk instruments with rock instruments and dress in traditional Japanese clothing (they also do a great version of Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life," which features guest vocals from Amy Lee herself). That's just a few to pique your interest; there are dozens more female bands in Japan from all corners of the rock, hard rock, and metal spectrum! When it comes to female rock and metal, Japan is pretty much the gold standard and frankly dominates the scene. Several of them are overflowing with virtuoso musicians, too - Band-Maid 's drummer, bassist and lea guitarist are some of the best in the world; LOVEBITES has straight up phenoms in both of their lead guitarists (one of whom is also a world-class classical pianist), their new bassist, and their drummer. Same with Nemophila, though they are now a one-guitar band, as their other guitarist left earlier this year.
BAND MAID did a collaboration recently with a band called "THE WARNING" Now, I really like Band Maid... But, I spend my money on "The Warning" it's three sisters from Mexico.19 22 24yrs old. They started their musical journey as soon as they crawled out of the crib. You're missing out on something very special. They all sing. The Loli-Goth aesthetic is taken from the cosplay waitress outfits of Tokyo maid cafés, which you can experience here - ua-cam.com/video/u90AN5QpbXEs/v-deo.htmli=HtnaYaQtuGDdo32a BAND-MAID’s live performances are legendary.
I feel the positive vibes!
BAND MAID makes everyone happy.
BAND MAID has been the best hard rock band on the circuit for several years now. This song was featured in the Netflix film KATE ... in the bar scene ... there was a good cameo of the band playing on the bar stage. They also used the song BLOOMING in the car chase scene.
BAND MAID is:
Miku Kobato (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, PR (Band founder, lyricist ... our flappy pigeon, po!)
Kanami Tōno (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar (musical composer extraordinaire - the princess)
Akane Hirose (廣瀬 茜) - drums, percussion (see bananas ... and ramen - the gorilla)
Misa - bass guitar (drinks hard liquor and performs without shoes on stage - the barefoot assassin)
Saiki Atsumi (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals ("we dance in the palm of her hand" - Domination - The Queen)
thank you for the information on the band!
Great reaction PO !!!!! BAND-MAID is the secret weapon to happiness !!!!!🕊🍌🍻☕⚾
:)
Thank you *Angel* for doing my request 🤗 I see more *BAND-MAID* in your future 😋
🍺👻🤘🏻🕊️
Thanks so much for the suggestion :)
I love this! They sire did capture me and make me want to listen to more!

Her name is Kanami Tono. 🎸
Thank you!
Thank you for Choosing Band-Maid. Welcome to happy rock!
loving happy rock!
Band Maid! ❤ The happiest rock band in the world 🌍
Spread the Love, Po! 🕊️
You're right...I didn't expect this reaction, but you all are so awesome!
They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!

BAND-MAID🤘🤩🤘
So awesome! I think I will definitely listen to more of them!
I plan on continuing for sure...thanks so much
Great reaction and you've just discover the best rock band in the world that will put a smile on your face while rocking the house down.
I love that you guessed the request was from BM4Life! The Maidiacs are lit! Thank you for naming Kanami for me...she rocks!
Welcome to Band Maid🎀, Japan's greatest export!😸Enjoy!!!
❤ I'm so happy you did this video!
I got to see this band when they returned to Seattle in 2022 they are one of my all-time favorites 🥰
He has created a full channel with amazing documentaries on each member, and for a deeper dive, I recommend it highly! ua-cam.com/video/zRvWuMqDMtk/v-deo.htmlsi=3NNgkj3e180Q79WI
Choose Me is a good intro - but something else about Band-Maid; the common description is that they have over 130 songs done over 11 years - and none of them sound alike!
For this I owe them a debt I can never repay enough.
that's so awesome
Saw them live twice last year on their US tour. Love them.
oooooh if you like harujuku culture you gotta check out Hanabie -- Be the Gal (early summer version), you'll love it! also you were spot on describing what Miku the founder of BAND-MAID calls the "gap". She used to work in a maid cafe and originally wanted to be and Idol singer which she ended up not likeing but then she had the idea of combining the maid look with rock music and BAND-MAID was born!
Doesn't people call their style of metal "Harajuku-core" too?
So cool! Even though I had never heard them before it's exactly what I was getting from them.
I second the Hanabie (Ha-nah-bee-ay) recommendation.
Welcome to BAND-MAID!
I hope you`ll enjoy them!
“Hell yeah! These girls rock!” You have no idea! You haven’t even scratched the surface!
Thank you for reacting to our Maids! Just wait until you start going through their discography. They are an incredible hard rocking band! Here are a few more Band-Maid songs that will make you smile.

That will do for starters, but I could easily list 40 more absolute bangers! Welcome down the pigeon hole! Welcome to the amazing music of Band-Maid!
Thank you!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH :)
Thanks for reacting to the greatest band in the world!
Thanks! I am definitely planning on reacting to more for sure!
Thanks! I sure will! I am excited to go deeper. I also love "Maidiacs".
You picked one of the most positive, uplifting bands in the world who have one of the most devoted and loving fan bases in the world! Here's a guide to everything BAND-MAID: www.youtube.com/@Ohrenje. I highly recommend the documentaries.
Thank you for this!
More Band Maid Please love your insightfulness, had the chance to see them live in Aug 2023 changed my life.
Thank you so much!
Princess Kanami on guitar 😊
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, live streams, CD, DVD/BD & merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 33 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Angel , Welcome to BAND-MAID enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass assassin .
Above all things, these ladies bring smiles, are funny and super talented. They have many silly life moment videos. The best experience is LIVE Band-Maid. Watch live videos and TRY NOT TO SMILE!
Thanks, Angel, for reacting to Band-Maid
thank you too!
Actually Band Maid is a tremendous live band and Is really best that way. They intermix all geres into their music. Watch HATE? live from Yokohama Arena and have your socks blown off. There's another all female metal band from Japan that you should check out. They're amazing too.
Welcome. I am not exaggerating when I say that Band Maid has the best fandom. We love music, we love each other, and we love Band Maid!
:)
WELCOME BACK HOME & Thank YOU🤗
:)
Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
maid cafe's...servings...masters & Princesses...I'm so here for all of it!!!
Best band on the planet 🤘🎎🤘🎎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Band-Maid wins again! Of course!

Nice raction. Started following them long before Kate. Songs for every mood in their extensive catalogue (@ 140 songs). THey never fail to lify my mood with the music and life enhancing lyric.
I'm hearing this from everyone about their music!
They gave me joy for sure!
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
It's time to listen to today's best hard rock band on the planet . Check out BAND-MAID Turn Me On Live in Tokyo 2018 . Thank you very much . Put on your seat belt .
🕊️
Band Maid is an amazingly upbeat band, both their music and their delivery. Their video for "After Life" takes place in a cafe. Check out "From Now On" for a lot more Kanami. I miss No Doubt. I love the paintings! Cheers.
thanks a lot!
Congratulations on discovering one of the best hard rock bands ever ! These ladies are so talented and shine when performing live . I would suggest the other song in the movie KATE "Blooming" Official MV is one of their best ! Thanks Nice Reaction =)
Thank you!
Real Existence live.
Hey Angel,
welcome tot the world of Band-Maid.
Glad to have you on this journey !!
Thanks!
You nailed it with your reaction. Kanami is the lead guitarist.
The best rock band out now, their music is always positive and uplifting as well as kick ass rock!!!!!
There is so much more where this came from. In Japan, there currently are so many girls that do rock and metal. I highly recommend checking out Lovebites (song suggestion: Holy War Live) and Nemophila (song suggestions: Dissension, Adabana or AMA-TE-RAS)
Thank you!!!!
I have attended two of their live concerts and I can say without a doubt they were two of the best events I have seen in my long life
Welcome to the Band Maid world, the best hard rock band on the planet for the last 10 years!!! Thanks for your reaction.
Kate is a netflix movie showcasing a female assasin in Tokyo.......awesome fight scenes....
Great reaction! Welcome to the wide wonderful world of Band-Maid. I put together a "best of" playlist of Band-Maid's videos on UA-cam -- people will disagree on some of my inclusions and exclusions, but that's part of the fun of being a fan of the best rock band in the world.

So helpful...thanks!
Lots of people have said this to me, so Hanabie here I come!
This is so rich with info....thank you!
BAND MAID did a collaboration recently with a band called "THE WARNING" Now, I really like Band Maid... But, I spend my money on "The Warning" it's three sisters from Mexico.19 22 24yrs old.
