If you would like to give advice to any teachers out there and expand on anything I said (or share your own experience) I am sure others would appreciate it! 🥰 Thank you for watching! 💛
I use Jack Hartmann for multiplication in third 😁😁😁 We started with virtual before switching to A/B schedule to give teachers more time to complete safety trainings and online resources trainings. With teaching online right now, we have sooo much time throughout the day to dig deeper into our resources, get more practice on the online programs, and actually set up our rooms. We were only allowed in three days before the kids actually started this year, and those days were mostly PD as well! So it was a crazy start. I appreciate my county for realizing we needed more time to safely prepare!!

so many great questions! i too teach at a charter and this will be my 6th year. i think a lot of the differences you’ve seen so far are more just different schools vs public and charter. my charter is the opposite lol. we have just shy of 1000 student and there’s 6 classrooms per grade. we also have no say over our schedules and have to follow curriculum pretty strictly. i think every school is always just so different from the next
🍎 my current biggest struggle with guided reading and distance learning is how to get books in their hands. In the classroom, my kids would get new books every 1-3 days, which is a ton of books! I have printed RAZ kids but, it’s a ton of books to print. Any suggestions?
Honestly raz kids :( I know it's so important to get books IN THEIR HANDS but I agree it's too much to print them and send a ton home every week so I'm having my kids log on and I'm trying to provide them as many avenues to read "online" as possible! That's the best I can do right now 😭 I record every book we do in class too. Every little bit helps I think

I have been teaching at a charter school in MO for 5 years. I love working at a charter school and having a the freedom to teach and do what I want.
