    58 year old atheist man here, I understand deeply what mortality is. Music like this is my church. A place without judgement, the human experience.

    Been 30 years since I saw this tour from the 4th row. All of them had smiles on their faces the entire show, truly enjoyed performing. This is the beginning of the show, just watch the whole thing, you won't be disappointed.

    RIP Syd Barret. Your reaction was appreciated, even probably similar to those of us who have watched and or listened to it a thousand times. Am enjoying all your work. Cheers.

    Take a look at Echoes live in Pompeii, I think about 1972, you can see them all young with long hair! The trumpet was a saxaphone. Next time you listen to it tune into the bass player Guy Pratt, he was the keyboard player, Richard Wright's son in law, it's a great base line. Love your smile.

    As a longtime fan and also someone who went to the Pulse concert twice, to me, the studio version should be played first with this song. It is a masterpiece and is something they really can't do justice to because of the length of the song originally. It was fantastic to see it live, and they sounded great as usual, but if you listen to the original recording, you will see the difference and the insane amount of talent these guys had.

    I'd love to see you react to the second half of Shine On You Crazy Diamond (a.k.a. parts 6-9). It's not live, but it's amazing. I also think it's just a teeny bit better than the one you just heard. Also, the studio version of Echoes is a masterpiece. 🤘🏽💗

    Yes that was about their bandmate they loved, I've seen many shows about David Gilmore, he's a beautiful man that helps people and gives to many charites, and said that Syd died from mostly mental illness not just drugs

    This performance is a testament to Pink Floyd's ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. Despite the changes in the band's lineup and the passage of time, they maintain a high standard of musical integrity and emotional depth. The PULSE concert showcases their enduring legacy and their commitment to delivering powerful live performances.

    It helps to know that this was about their lost friend and bandmate (and founding member of Pink Floyd) Syd Barrett, to too much LSD. A profound tribute. A tremendous composition.

    Frank Zappa said, “Music is the only religion that delivers the goods”. But back to PF, I’m a staunch believer in hoping reactors react to studio original Pink Floyd. That said this is a stellar performance. Glad it meant something to you.

  • @kareng4658
    @kareng4658 4 місяці тому

    You are very intuitive! You are exactly right - this song is about Syd Barrett who was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd. He went on a trip & never came back. Drugs will do it every time.😢

    This is a shortened version of the song. On the album there's a part I thru V and on the end a part VI thru IX. or part 1 thru 5 & part 6 thru 9.
    The album version is dark room with your eyes closed therapy!!

      @@Franklynreact certo...sono suddivise in due parti ( SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND PART 1/5) e S.O.Y.C.D part 6/9) .
      La parte 1/5 apre l'album WISH YOU WERE HERE (1975) e la 6/9 lo chiude.
      Bisognerebbe conoscere la versione di studio prima del live .
      Ma adesso che lo sai dedica quasi 25 minuti della tua vita per arricchirti musicalmente e fare un'esperienza unica ...spirituale direi 😉😘

    This song is about their former band frontman and leadsinger Syd Barret who went "crazy" (still not entirely sure of what happened) in the late 60`s. It`s a long story but worth checking out for the context of Pink Floyd as a band. Also if you`re into funky music with great solos you should take a look at Pink Floyd "Another brick in the wall pt2". Great reaction🙌

    • @65alef
      @65alef 5 місяців тому

      Ma certo che sappiamo cosa è successo a Syd Barrett negli anni '60.
      Si flippo' il cervello 💣💥💭😵con le droghe...di ogni tipo esistente all'epoca .
      Perché non dire le cose come stanno ...forse per giustificare se stessi ?!?

    The English bands from the 1970's produced music that was unparalleled in creativity and musicianship. Try the band "Genesis" - "Suppers Ready" for 23 minutes of brilliance, or the group "Yes" - "Yours is no Disgrace" for an introduction to prog rock at its finest. Peace .
