After playing the game for 3-4 hours I decided to give my general impressions of playing the game on day one. I plan on returning to the game when the servers are more relaxed and provide a more concise review The Day Before.
Did the gameplay trailers for this game oversell its potential? Absolutely! After playing it for a few hours, I can confidently say that it's not as epic as they made it seem. The open map is more like the size of a small town.

They didn’t just oversell their games release based on trailers. They lied. Straight lied. There is a video out there somewhere of a FNtastic employee “playing” The Day Before. People already said it looked suspicious since keyboard hits and movement didn’t align, but we know now it was exactly what everything else was: rendered footage. They didn’t just mislead; this is false advertising at its finest.
Wanting to drive a brand new Bugatti in a zombie apocalypse game is the most Chinese thing I've ever seen
They added fake shooting inside of buildings to make it seem like other people are playing it 😂 they knew itd die the day before it was released

No idea if anyone will read this but under no circumstances should you buy this game.
The studio owners are notorious liars, ex-dev have come out against their practices and given plenty of background info into this trainwreck in progress.
Wait a few weeks and you'll see videos popping up proving this is just another asset flip in some way.
It's expensive AF and they're likely abandoning this within a year.

Better than you expected? There is nothing in this game at all, just the endless running of dayZ but with no reward or worry. Immediately refunded the game
Fell like they originally were going for a zombie version of the devision realized it would take longer and just released their darkzone mode as the whole game.
The cope and denial is sad to see and is why this stuff will keep happening. It makes it clear that we don't deserve any better.
This is a fact. A clearly shady game created, bare bones as fuck with many missing or broken features, and its 40 dollars. But yet there’s always people saying “it’s not as bad as it seems, it has some promising things” and it’s why gaming nowadays MOSTLY sucks. Not fully, but for sure mostly

Too much futuristic shit and rpg which makes enemies bullet sponges. At that point just get borderlands instead. Now if division had ttk like breakpoint and less scans drones etc it would be an AMAZING game

@@rednirabkriv5376 I don't mind the gadgets and shit. I agree on the bullet sponging, but I was more thinking about leveling a new char, and it's not as much of a problem while lvling up; it's mostly an endgame issue from what I remember.

I feel sorry for those that tried this game for 2 hrs and wont be getting their money back anymore.
I like how it's standard to release games unfinished now. I shouldn't have to pay to play test your game for you.
They should have made everyone start in an outpost like dead frontier 1 and 2. They should have made it to where you can create an temporary outpost in any building in the city with the right materials so u can loot in peace and also booby trap. you should be able to climb ladders, walls, fences and windows. The player map limit should be 64 to 100 at a time. The zombies spawn should be 200 in a 5 block radius and have aggro for each kill with no silencer. There needs to be a running zombie and slow zombies. The world needs too look way more dirty with signs of chaos from the outbreak like crash fire trucks and helicopters smoke in the air or just gloomy to give it more atmosphere. Military tanks and quarantine areas should be scattered all around the city with high rewards but a fuck ton of zombies in it. Secret military bunkers underground that has radiated zombies and mutated but you can get limited legendary items. There should be dogs and birds that occasionally attack not too often tho. You should be able to have different type of melee weapons and hand to hand combat like cqc from metal gear or change your style to muay tai or boxing.you should have the option to go first person. You should be able to grab someone from behind to isolate there communication with their team to where you and him/she can only hear each other in a 20 feet radius. You should have the need to find water and gas for vehicles. There should be a partying system or make it gta 5 like and just let people join the lobby of their choice but be able to see only their friends on the map when they spawn in. There should be random zombie bosses roaming the street that drop special Gene's that give you rare stats and abilities in game. You should be able to swim with dying 😂 like that's sad dude who tf dies while in mid sroak 😂😅. You should be able to have boats to go to islands with military personnel still there that gives you rare missions with high rewards. They should make more city's in the future or add areas outside of it. NPCs should look stressed out and depressed or worried. Ammo should be limited to find depending on caliber. And please I cant stress this enough if you do nothing you made nothing and that's exactly what this game is rn nothing. Please fix it and dont half ass because the template looks great but the game is empty.
The map is a direct copy of the Unreal engine map that Unreal created.

Just remember they announced the game back in Jan 2021 so who know how long it was in development before then (probably not long) but my point being they still had all that time to make a somewhat decent game by launch (and yes I'm aware it's in early access, but do you really think they're gonna make this somewhat playable after all the shit they've pulled). I'm just glad I didn't give my money to theses assholes at fantastic.
It wasn’t in development until this year or late last year at best. They didn’t start this in 2021 when they announced it. It was all rendered footage for hype to use to sell Propnight. I don’t think they thought they would actually have to make a game in the beginning.

i agree i think they have a decent framework/world to build on more than what we all expected to be honest. i wouldnt pay 40 to play the game now, but i can see this game have potential and being fun in 2 years if they continue to refine and add more system and fun activity content.

This game will lose all support from devs before it lasts that long. I truly beleive there is no amount of content and fixes they could possibly release to undue the damage here.

This is why I never believe the hype of an upcoming game. I usually wait 6 months before buying a game just in case of game breaking bugs and glitches.

I think the character textures could afford to be worked on. In Ghost reacon breakpoint you can see the texture in the clothes and weapon. All the clothes just look flat. When you shoot you can see there is not texture to the clothes. Everything just looks smooth. I would say this would have been good for a PS3 or 4 game. But It's not looking next gen to me at all. I could go on and on about the textures. The light effects everything to the same it seems. They did great on the streets. But the buildings and rooms all just look flat to me. The reflections are too dim in the windows. In the interiors of rooms everything is matte. Nothing is shiny or glossy at all. It makes the rooms look very flat. The cash registers look flat. They should reflect different from the wood. Sorry if I'm over picking but I do 3D renders for a living. I seriously could go on and on. This is not PS5 worthy graphics and no where near the quality of what was shown originally. It has the potential to be a great game. But that's all it ever had, potential. And I am absolutely going off comparing to earlier footage that we were shown when it was labeled a fake. They got our hopes up for this hyper realistic open world shooter. And this is more of Division level quality compared to what we were originally shown. His freaggin shotgun isn't even touching the back pack. If you look it's literally floating next to it when not in use. Just lazy and tacky.

I think the game has massive potential they need further investment and committed members to make this the game we believed it to be. Be interesting to see if someone takes over the development

I'm a software engineer and I want to start an open-source game project that can finally deliver an open world zombie game + any mods built by the community. We have a few of my collogues on board, but hopefully we can start soon to finally get rid of all these garbage cash grabs.

Reasonable take and I agree. Devs deserve all the hate for their idiotic marketing and shady tactics. That aside, this isn’t the worst alpha launch I’ve played by a mile. It’s popular to hate, other wise it would be getting some praise, and constructive criticism, like other alphas that people are hyped to play. People expected it to be terrible, and it’s not great don’t get me wrong, but they’re experiencing confirmation bias 100%.
I have massive respect for Deadly and his opinions, but to say the game is better than MIscreated, and to say that the game in its current state is much better than he expected? Come on Deadly... The game is beyond a joke, its not even fitting to its genre which was meant to be "survival MMO" its literally an extraction shooter with 0 content & nothing to do. Most of the buildings you cant even enter, not to mention the difficulty even getting into a server in the first place. Sure Miscreated wasnt the best game in the world and thats why it eventually failed and has no players anymore. But this game probably has one of the worst launches I've ever seen from a game that was hyped so much.

Thanks for posting this. The game looks terrible. The run animation looks absolutely lame and gliding strafe instantly kills it for me as that's all you will look at for hours. And the 3rd person peek gameplay is BS, takes me back to PUBG release. The environment looks flat, probably the lighting. Glad you think it's "okay" but it looks like a mediocre game that will only stay mediocre.

I don't know why you've decided to advocate for them in this way but you paid 40 dollars for a game that claimed to be a finished product until the very last minute and then bait-and-switched with an "early access" release. i just have this feeling you got paid not to absolutely trash talk the game.. like overwhelmingly negative with almost every streamer and youtuber agreeing. and your like it has potential and giving it a 5 out of 8? this feels off.. 2 months ago it was supposed to be a pretty much finished game and almost ready for a release. now it comes out of early access and it looks like a 1 year project early alpha. after 3 years! they just went all into visuals and halfassed everything else. then probably paid some content creators to hopefully get into mixed reviews so it wouldnt look like a total scam. the scam is the anticipation and hype they've created. now that its overwhelmingly negative i can pretty much predict whats gonna happen.
they will drop a patch. maybe 2. but if the reviews dont magically fly into positive they they're bailing on the game. deleting old trailers. locking down discord. this game will never get back on its feet. even if they magically manage to fix it (highly doubt that) years of being super vague of the game and just showing wonderful trailers then dropping a turd on the plate like this..
i had it for my wishlist for years. i knew it would be a turd but just wanted to see how bad it would be. i expected it to not exist. and sadly it exists. the trailers were hope. now that we've seen the actual game there is no hope left.
