Yes, there are some generic towers and gates dotted around the map that you (currently) can't access and that is what the buildings on top of the Pillars of Creation are (I went up there and looked).
I love your building location and may need to move my main base there as well because as you say, the view is incredible, although the building area does appear limited.
I have three "bases" I have built at the moment - the starter one near the cinder vault (still my main base and where the NPCs are), the Blue Goblet tavern and area and one on top of the lower Pillars of Creation rocks (above the mysterious structure).

3:40 I have built a floating base right above those structures on top of pillars of creation, so far there is nothing there, just genetic buildings. P.S. ur house looks amazing

you talking about the buildings? if so they are dungeons or other buildings that they left as placeholders they cannot be explored (... atleast i havent found a way ... yet) but you can look around them im assuming they will be fore more npcs and possibly bosses
