It has a slight cocked wah sound to it...It sounded better boosted as it seemed to fill it out more...overall I think it’s a good cheap buy...also I think your EMGs might be making this pedal sound better than what I remembered it to be lol
@@dddd717 @D G I totally agree with you, I think it sounds better pushed with the screamer and the emg's as well. It does have that snarly cocked wah sound too. If you've ever played the Dod grunge that this pedal copied it totally has that same tone to it. Thanks for commenting D G. 👍

This was the first pedal I ever got but it was free from a friend and didn't work because of the insides being rusted, he gave me his boss mega distortion and the fab somehow sounds way better lol
@@johncollins5552 the circuit inside was all rusted and chipped away so it didn't turn on. And yeah I dont care much for either the turbo or mega as they don't suit the metal I play that much.
i bought one as an impulse buy like a candy bar or a soda (paid 15$) for it....best 15 bux i ever spent (this was many years ago but i still use this sometimes)
Hey man, geat video. These pedals rock, I own them for some time now, that being said, I use the overdrive + metal pedals, and although the sound is great it comes with a lot of humming and noise. I tried isolated power supplies and it still gives a lot of noise. I was wondering how did you overcome this, any tips?
Humm could be induced by poor grounding or shielding on your cables or maybe the power supply on your petals is garbage. Try running the panel off of a battery and see if the hum goes away.
Once I wanted to buy one. But I've got Line 6 Uber Metal, bought Behringer V-Amp Pro again and now considering grabbing Joyo Zombie and some decent 1x12 cab, maybe Harley Benton or Bugera, cheap and neat. But I still consider buying Fab Metal. Btw either u're that strong or your strings are super loose. Feels very comfortable to my eyes when u bend easily. My explorer is kinda tough and strings are stiff even tho i changed them and tweaked the bridge. Just bought Kramer V Nite Black and it's way less axe ish. Light feathered, slim wide neck. Still love Explorer more but hey
The fab metal is still worth the money if you ever come around to it again. My strings in this video are loose. They are 10's downtuned to C standard. Feel wise they'd be like playing 8's in E standard.

Gotta practice a bit to get back to the point where I was, I'l think about FAB in the future. Also Cool Cat Metal 1 and 2 are interesting. Not sure if that much gain tho

Real good but the gain control is too sensitive, a tiny adjustment makes a huge difference. Massive mid scoop on it overall.
Just picked one up for 20 bucks and I'm glad I did this thing is powerful for what it is

Don't know how it can rust, pedal is full of plastic? Boss turbo distortion is better than the mega imo.

Have you tried the Hum Debugger by Electro Harmonix?
