They normally only happen and last maybe 2 minutes then goes away until the next one later that day or so. Last night after smoking a cigarette they came and never went away... had them for hours straight every 3 beats. I went to the ER, they took my blood, did an EKG... all show normal. But on the heart machine you can clearly see the PVC... I recorded the heart monitor on my phone and you can clearly see the PVC's yet they dont seem worried and send me home with nothing.

I started taking Magnesium Glycinate after going on line researching the kinds of Magnesium. When I wake up in the middle of the night, my old ticker would be racing so fast that I couldn't even count the beats. So I had to get out of bed, go to to the front door and open it so I can get some fresh air even in the winter time. This would calm me down and I would then go back to sleep. But when I started taking very small amounts of the Magnesium Glycinate the racing heart disappeared.
But I still have those PVCs that I would sure like to get rid of. They have been quite frequent this evening. I went to the ER to get this checked out and then to my doctor after I was told to go. My doctor was totally useless. But I have an appointment to go to a cardiologist March 12.

I was taking cardiovascular research Magnesum taurate and had wonderful results good heartbeat slept better, regular bowels but it is a little expensive since I take 4-5 pills a night each pill is 125mg 30% /37 mg of elemental magnesium.
So I looked for a cheaper magnesium taurate on Amazon and found natural rhythm brand 200mg did not list amount of elemental mag, so I thought wow this like half the price. NO NO NO first it didn’t work and so I contacted company and asked how much elemental mag and they said 20mg for each capsule of 200mg. So do the math, I did. To equal just 4 of CR Brand or 148 elemental mag. I would have to take 7 pills (1400mg) to just equal 140 elemental mag. I think I will stick to CR RESEARCH Thank You it is so much cheaper and it works

Just a question, I am taking a calcium channel blocker, Lercanidipine. I tried taking it with a magnesium and for two days I felt as if I had been taking sleeping pills and couldn't function normally.
I see on Wikipedia, there is reference to magnesium enhancing the effects of CCBs.
Ionic calcium is antagonized by magnesium ions in the nervous system. Because of this, bioavailable supplements of magnesium, possibly including magnesium chloride, magnesium lactate, and magnesium aspartate, may increase or enhance the effects of calcium channel blockade.[23]
I wonder therefore if they should be contra-indicated?
    Thank you!

Mix mom with liter of sparking mineral water. Look up ‘mineral water magnesium’ video. Guy has a red sweat shirt on in a kitchen. Shows how to mix it. Really helpful. He’s a weight lifter. I would post it here but it might be rude. You drink only 2oz. a day spread out so you don’t have loose stool. Very inexpensive.

I just went through a painful stretch of muscle cramps for 11 days - despite getting adequate potassium and magnesium "oxide" ... nothing seemed to work and I spent most days immobilized with severe pain seeing only very small levels of improvement over time. I finally gave up in desperation, and purchased a different Magnesium after doing some research. I bought Magnesium Malate, a quality Magnesium with a high absorption rate and good for treating sore muscles ...
It took a few hours to initially kick in - but the next morning after taking it - I woke up PAIN FREE for the first time in 11 days - and I remained pain free as long as I kept taking this magnesium. FYI - I started out with the recommended dose of 400 mg ... then tested it at a half dose of 200 mg ... and it still seemed to be very effective.
Sometimes I take half a dose of Malate - and half a dose of Oxide since I already had ample quantities of Oxide on hand - and it too seemed to be effective.
FYI - Malate is harder to access and had to have it shipped - and I don't want to run out.

In a study published in an October 2013 issue of BMC Medicine, researchers from the University of Guelph, Ontario, used DNA barcoding to evaluate the authenticity of 44 different herbal products from 12 supplement companies.
The study findings were shocking: 59 percent of the products tested contained DNA from plant species not listed on the label, and 30 out of the 44 products had no trace of the labeled main ingredient, but contained other products not listed on the label.
Of the 12 supplement companies whose products were involved in the test, only two of them had products with no substitution, contamination or fillers. Although the researchers didn't name the supplement companies, Forbes reported that Walmart's Spring Valley vitamins were included among the negative results, and printed a reaction from Walmart that confirmed this.
Aside from the simple and reasonable expectation of getting what you pay for is the fact that researchers in the aforementioned study noted that some of the contaminants they found pose serious health risks to consumers because of interactions with medications, allergies and contamination from ingredients that can cause harmful side effects with prolonged use.
The researchers also cited a 2004 statement from the World Health Organization, in which the WHO notes that adulteration of consumer products is a genuine threat to consumer safety.

I wasn’t as successful re: sleeping through the night after the first night, but I have now started postponing taking my magnesium until an hour or so before bed. The capsules I got recommend 3 per day, so I save at least 1 until late evening. Last night (first time I postponed the dosing) I woke up only one time, so I consider that a success! Also, at my usual spots for purchasing supplements (grocery store pharmacy & Walgreens drug store), I found only the usual magnesium oxide. That’s what I’ve been taking for years-since the doctor didn’t bother to tell me that there are multiple kinds of magnesium. UGH! The oxide is poorly absorbed (only about 4%, I think). - Mag citrate and glycinate (if you have a sensitive stomach) are good magnesium’s to take
    - If you dislike pills, try the powdered aspartate form or open the powdered capsules and dissolve it in water

    Hello Doctor,
Thank you so much for your generous advice. Tomorrow I am going to pick up some magnesium from the drugstore. I definitely think that it will help my sleeping habit and hopefully cure my atrial fibrillation . You explain everything so clearly and the comments are also very helpful

I'm an AFib/PVC patient. I've experimented with quite a few Magnesiums. Magnesium Taurate is, by far, the most effective. Its most useful in getting a good nights sleep.
