  • If you follow the shorts, you may have seen it already, but here's the process for powdercoating the gas tank on this XLCH. Lots of time in prep and masking, but I'm happy with the overall result. This was my first time doing a large detailed vinyl pull on something like this, but I think there will be a lot more in the future. It's a generic design graphic, but I wanted to make tip my hat to the barn fire this bike came from. I hope to do more vinyl stuff in the future with custom designs and drawings. All timelapse, but hopefully you enjoy it.

My Dad taught me how to spray paint when I was 12 at his shop, I'm now 60 and I know I'm damn good at it. Watching you prep and powder coat this tank set me back, I'm totally impressed......Well done.

Thanks man! I'm really happy with how it came out, especially for powder. I wanted to push myself a bit more on this one.

Never really considered powder . After seeing your work, something I will be considering when I'm ready. Excellent work.

Thank you! Having a coating shop, I thought I would try and push myself a bit more on the tank. That meant trying some new things I haven't done before. Thanks for watching!

Original Harley Davidson gas tanks don’t have those “draw marks” (scratches from poorly made stamping tools). There are manufacturers that take no pride in the parts they make.

Yea, quality is a non-existent term these days I feel like. It's really unfortunate.
