No, thankfully it auto tracks your steps even if you don't start a workout.
You need choose the exercise to track running or swimming.

I have Huawei Band 3 Pro and no exists method to connect to strava or MapMyRun, you need use Huawei Health, it`s nice app.

what about NFC payment?
Gps is a little bit off. And there is no way to sync with Strava especially with google fit sync is broken nowadays. you can ask for your data and they send you 3 days later and you convert said data to Strava format with a Python script and manually upload. Other than that hr and SpO2 is quite accurate (compared with medical equipment)
I just got my Huawei 4 Pro but don't see the blood oxygen/spo2 feature. I see some are saying that the global version of the device now has the feature enabled, but i don't see that.
From what we understand, these features need to be approved by each country's health board to make sure it meets their standards. The time this takes to get approved seems to vary wildly, so unless you flash global firmware to your device you will need to wait until your country approves the OTA update.

The Huawei Health app is not giving me access to the watch face store. I'm using what I assume is the Chinese version, from the U.S. Anyone else have this problem. If I can't get an acceptable watch face (factory ones are CRAP) on this thing, I may have to return it...but I'd rather not, with it's edge over the Mi Band 4 and 5.
Because of the way it charges I'll look elsewhere, not sure why they moved away from the usb port fitted into the strap

What's the difference between Global version and Chinese version? And does the Chinese version have firstbeat?
Unfortunately the it has the Blood Oxygen Monitor and NFC features have been disabled.
@@pbtech how is the accuracy for hr while exercising. can you have an always on display for a run or do you have to keep pressing the button? thanks. blood oxygen is now enabled on global version.

mine is iphone. No problems for downloading the Huawei Health on IOS.
Are SPO2 feature can work normally on iphone?
Gee I was missing that feature ; heart sensor. The band will let you know now if you are dead.
