    Thank you, Brian. 🙏🏼
23H2 users are having BSOD/Bootloop issues from a recent (optional) update, *KB5043145.* If you installed that one prior to moving to 24H2, that might be your problem.
Personally, I've gotten to the point where I no longer download/install *anything* from Microsoft that's 'optional' because of nonsense like this. 🙄
(I hope you get it figured out! 🤞🏼)

I really wish Microsoft would quit with these "feature updates" and would just do security updates... Exactly HOW many people even use these features and apps they're adding in?
The old philosophy "We trust that users will install the apps they want to use, and we'll only include a few basic utilities, including a no-frills web browser so downloading another one is easy" is something they need to adopt once again, because good lord are they ruining Windows.
They wonder why these huge issues keep happening - that's kinda what happens when you shoehorn tons of massive features onto an OS which is designed to basically be universal in what it runs on. Apple can get away with it since they have a very limited set of hardware it works on; Windows doesn't have that luxury. We're talking millions of hardware configurations. It's a miracle that it works as well as it does as it is, but again, they're really sabotaging things.

Good luck. You've got about one year left before support ends and you're left paying for support for an outdated OS, or you succumb to Microsoft's demands and upgrade to Windows 11 anyway.
Of course, you can continue using it without payment and accept all the risks that come with running an unsupported operating system, or you could jump ship and just use a different operating system.
No matter what, sticking with Windows 10 past next October is not exactly the most safe or cost-effective option.

      * it depends on a multitude of factors. the big ones are your hardware, your use-case and whatever distro you choose. Linux really hasn't been all that hard since like 2008-2012. Just don't choose something stupid like Arch, Gentoo or Linux from Scratch as your first distro and you'll mostly be fine. Generally speaking configuration has been about the same in terms of time spent for me personally. it's kind of an all day venture no matter what. The reasons for it are just slightly different.
The one thing I would suggest however is if you have an nvidia card, and a UEFI system, JUST GO WITH OPENSUSE. it's kind of the only distribution that properly supports both secure boot and the proprietary nvidia driver at the same time. You can get it working on others, it's just a royal pain in the ass you have to repeat everytime the kernel updates. most people just disable secure boot because they don't want the hassle. I, however, disagree with the idea that anyone should need to disable a security feature to install and maintain any OS, so I refuse to do so.
      -- Sincerely, a filthy dual-booting heathen whom mostly uses Windows(because i'm lazy).

Given the fact that's happening after security updates, i think it's an issue related to that.

I'm sticking with Windows 10 until EOS myself, as I want to keep using a fully mature OS and not be a beta test subject. It has always been my approach with Windows. I just about cried when Win 7 reached EOS. Luckily, that meant I never had to touch Win 8. I'm hoping for the same good fortune with Win 11. Windows 12(of course they will) hopefully will be on the "good" side of the cycle, as all Windows OS's have historically been(95-bad, 98-sort of good, ME-bad, XP-good, Vista-bad, 7-great! 8-bad, 10-good, 11-bad...)

Hej Brian thanks for the video yes it's always best to wait a while before upgrading to a new Windows 11 version, as you also mention in your video. But I know it's a problem for some users with the Windows 24H2 update and for some who have Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) on Intel 11th Gen Core processors. And Microsoft says one must update the driver for Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) to drivers (10.30.00.5714) (10.29.00.5714) or a later driver. So Microsoft will not offer Windows 24H2 if you have an old Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) driver. But it takes a while before manufacturers release all the drivers for a new Windows version. But I absolutely agree with you, Brian Windows 11 24H2 needs more updates and bug fixes, so it's best to wait a few more months before users upgrade to Windows 24H2. Take care, Brian, and have a lovely thursday.

Are there still reports of a clean install of Windows 11 24H2 running Bitlocker in the background ?. Just curious and can it be disabled ?. My experience of 24H2 which I recently updated to gave me just a few problems. First of all after the update a warning dialogue box appeared saying a " device driver cannot load on this device ENE.sys " yeah ok wasnt expecting that one. My belief is the ene.sys is something to do with RGB, probably left over from Asus Armoury Crate which I uninstalled a long time ago. I stiil have a folder called ENE, with ene.exe lying in there, and 2 entries of ene.sys in Windows and Prgram Files. I searcched for ene.sys and just renamed the file to" ene.sys.old "to stop the dialogue box appearing. I will investigate ENE and remove those ene.sys files. This is the first time after scores of Windows 11 updates that i had this ENE.sys warning. Hmm strange. Maybe its just a placebo effect but also after 24H2 update there seems to be a very, very slight lagginess in Windows. Maybe lagginess is too strong a word !, but a certain less nippy system, overall. I dont see a huge difference with this update, nothing super special, a few things here and there, I was expecting more. Thank you.

I've been battling with this Blue screen since last night, my PC is not officially supported though...so I thought it was because of incompatible issues, even though I was running earlier versions of windows on that Same machine 😢

I was perfectly happy with Windows 7. I can't think of any functionality Windows 10 offers that I missed in Windows 7. Now Windows 10 uses twice the amount of memory my Windows 7 did. And a lot more Microsoft spyware. Now MS has been trying to push customers to Windows 11 but almost 70% of the users are still on Windows 10. This is a huge red flag.

I have two 24h2 machines currently, upgraded Surface Pro X and a Lenovo T14 g2 with clean install. Both work fine. I still have few computers running 23h2, I think I'll wait a while since all of those would be upgrades.

I just installed Windows 11 Pro 24H2 from the ISO file from Microsoft download on a VMware virtual machine using my custom autounattend.xml file. The first time went through the install process and then rebooted and hung at a black screen of death, then forced a manual reset and went through the install process and then on the reboot it came up with Windows logo and proceeded to finish off the installation properly. All is good now.

I got 24H2 a few months ago, the only problem I had was it killed my Microsoft Defender, it updates it through updates, but it's nowhere on my computer, I went to the store and downloaded it, and it installed it, but it's not on my computer, the update also removed my Cyberlink Power DVD I went to my one drive and it was removed from there too, other than that it's stable and not causing Blue Screens of Death for me.

I used the Windows 11 Installation Assistant to upgrade to 24H2 and got a BSOD on 1st Boot into Windows. - it didn't even reach the Applying Updates screen after Boot. So after the PC rolled back to 23H2, I used the Media Creation Tool to make a USB Boot Media and installed 24H2 that way within Windows... keeping my File & Settings of course. Worked for me that way. Specs- Intel Core i9 10920X, ASUS ROG Strix x299 Gaming-E II motherboard, 64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2666 MHz RAM, ect (worked that way on an x299 chipset system).

I had this happen to one of my client’s Surface Laptop. I read that it was due to KB5043145. Was able to initially log in but couldn’t click on anything. I could Ctrl-Alt-Del to get to task manager but couldn’t click on anything. Eventually, after several reboots (forced by holding the power button) it would BSOD or just spin without loading. I eventually removed his SSD to get him his critical files and then performed a full reset (through the recovery menu) and all was good. Not sure if it actually was that KB5043145 update because I had it on my Surface Go 2, my Legion 5i and another mini laptop and those didn’t have any issues.

rebooted and ran Sept 24 updates too, rebooted a few more times. seems to be fine.

I'm still waiting for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT that's going to FORCE Microsoft from preventing us from "stopping" Updates properly and ONLY updating when WE want to.
I've had to buy PRO for years now "solely " to stop Automatic Updates. Of course, I STILL will not update to 11, still on 10 because again, we clearly need another Class Action because 11's Start Menu as well as Explorer Menu Bar is USELESS to me. I have over 100 Programs all Organized how I like in 10, and 11's Explorer Menu Bar is clearly someone's "Personal Theme", NOT at all good for the "masses".
