In this clip, Michael Franzese spoke about his relationship with former Philadelphia mob leader Nicky Scarfo, whose son committed suicide while Nicky was embroiled in a federal trial. The topic led Michael to speak about the pressure and scrutiny kids who have mob parents face, and he pointed out that his siblings didn't handle it well.
During the conversation, Michael also spoke about paying off Noreaga $50,000 a month to keep a Panamanian compound when he was in the gas business. He then added that he also paid off politicians, with $25,000 being the most he spent at one time.

My family knew the Scarfos...when i was litte my grandpa would take me over to the Scarfos house and i used to read books to Mark Scarfo while he was in his coma....it was so sad...his mom was totally heartbroken....

Interview Phil Leonetti from the Philadelphia mob
UCLA?
I wonder is this is what inspired the Sopranos to make AJ a suicide headcase.
🤯🤯🤯
@@hmosesmamulu6491 very true the Sopranos used alot of true stories in the show. I only just found out Johnny sach was meant to be based on Gotti.
Even more messed up is Eugene Pontecorvo actually succeeded in hanging himself 😳. That scene is messed up.
@@davesmith8620 I can definitely see that now...
@@hmosesmamulu6491 also the under boss of the Jersey mob died of cancer and I think there was a stand in boss until vinny ocean who lived in a mini mansion the same as Tony's became the boss owned a strip club and they owned and hung outside a butchers shop on the same block as the fake satriales.
Scarfo was unpredictable and dangerous. The dude killed a judge. Who does that? That's insane even for the mob
Nicky Scarfo was a very strange character. Very personable, social, and funny, but in a split second if you said the wrong thing he would think about putting 2 in your head. Very paranoid individual. He definitely got off on killing. He just loved having total power over everyone else and being feared. I think it is safe to say he had a major napoleon complex.
He was a psycho
Little Nicky Scarfo was what one would consider a Jekyll and Hyde character in addition to being narccistic and psychotic.
well put...
PLEASE Michael don't do anymore interviews with this clown.
Why you dont like this guy? Jw
@@vintagedrums1 after you listen to him for a while you realize hes instigating, disrespectful , full of himself, compares EVERYTHING to him.
Him and Patrick bet david are consumate amateurs.
@@johnmurdoch3083 i like pat. He seems to mostly be respectful to his guests and doesn't instigate thing
@@ajax3748 hes full of himself and asks really dumb questions
Nicky Scarfo was one of those mythical figures in the mob who were evil by nature. The guy was a serial killer and loved to kill.
He was crazy, but he was very likable I've heard too. I worked with a guy whose grandfather knew him and he said he was one of the funniest guys he ever met lol
I want a movie with him so bad. Him and “The Mafia cops”. Let Martin Scorsese do both films
Daniel Dimino yep, he beat the butter knife murder case though. It was self defense.
he thought people were plotting to kill him so he acted first
@It Man The guy from Shameless would be good
I like the way Michael does not brag or tell a story to make himself look like a guy he is not...he tells a story in a straight forward way with no braggadocio.
This man is the best interview that Glad gives, hands down
Glad for Glad
U mean vlad.
@@bilpaparigormoetis5020 No, Glad.
Yea rats usually give good interviews...they like to talk...LOL
nah Crunchy
I love Michael franzese
Scarfo dropped a lot of bodies. Dude was bloodthirsty.
I met him and Leonetti as a 17 year old parking attendant in New Jersey at the old Hyatt Hotel in Cherry Hill. They pulled up in a Lincoln Town Car and said they wanted to park upfront. They took the keys. Leonetti tipped me $10 on a $3 parking fee. That was a big tip in 1984. Scarfo smiled and looked like a madman. I knew who they were and it was kinda exhilarating.
@@MikeCaz OMG, is that really true? how long was the encounter? how tall was phil?
If Michael knew about that kilo Vlad almost sold
Lol
LOL, yeah if only Michael actually knew the type of hardcore Soviet gangster savage he was speaking to right now through the monitor. He has no idea. Vladimir is actually one of the original Russian Vor(look Vor up if you don't know) thats been in hiding for 26 years, he had facial surgery and a voice change to make him seem soft and unassuming but Vlad used to have the streets of Kiev on fire in the 90's. Thats why he gets so frustrated and tries to brag to his guests and make it about him cause he can't tell any of us the type of things he really did back in Ukraine.
Mo Khayat Oh and if he knew about his house in Calabasas 🤣🤣🤣
Jeffrey Lebowski they live in the same neighborhood
i2ay of course. They all address Vlad as Don Glad
I find these interviews by vlad to be “what vlad wants to hear”. The best interviews are on Valuetainment. They even interview the nephew of scarfo, Phil leonetti so check it out.
I agree with you 100%. vlad doesn't seem to realize that these interviews with these former mob bosses or hitmen, They still belong to that sacred code to the Mafia. They're still in "THAT LIFE". Franzese's father put a contract on HIM?? He's only telling djvlad on what he wants him to know. Like about the Racial tensions that's going on right now, Michael, He's 'ol school. He's looking out for the Italians not Black people. Those guys in the Mob were brutal killers. Understand?? The Valuentainment gives much better interviews that this guy vlad does. And he's needs to be careful what he asks those guys About THAT LIFE!
@James Robert That's what I'm saying Vlad needs to lay off with these interviews with those mobsters. I know those mobsters know that they're still under their radar of THAT LIFE they were a part of. Because Vlad might put himself in danger.
Check out the audio book on here as well and if you don't it's this 👉
Probably on podcast/audio only. I could not stand Patrick's facial expression and body language. For example, the one where he interviewed Franzese in Michael's house, Patrick kept his feet moving around and picking his nails throughout the interview.
@@keithharper1470 Its what?
son was in convalescent home for years,, my mother watched over him
I want a movie about Nicky sooooo bad! Let Martin Scorsese do it
I'll make a phonecall
That would be nice but about the whole philly mob start from angelo bruno, testa, scarfo, stanfa, joe, and joey merlino theres alot of history it would make a good 🎥.
I'd want to see a movie with
Obviously the Goodfellas Cast
Pesci DeNiro Ray Liotta Paul Sorvino
The Sopranos Cast minus Gondolfini
Chazz Palminteri and Sonny Black from Donnie Brasco and Johnny Depp. Even through Depp played Whitey he still had that somewhat New York Accent and He can pull off playing a Gangster
@Iben T. Rollin it was too long but not a disappointment. There could've been scenes shot with different angles better and the music choices were terrible. The main thing I didn't like was he took too long to make it Pesci DeNiro Pacino are damn near 80 he should've made this movie 20 years ago when he was in his prime coming off Goodfellas and Casino
@Iben T. Rollin the only thing I liked about the movie was the wise guy conversations that's it other than that it was too long they are all too old and he should've got this done decades ago
Get Philip Leonetti on please !!! His book mafia prince was amazing !

Nicodemo Scarfo was pure evil.
Watched a few doco,s about Nicky ,they say he was one of the most ruthless guys out of all the mob.
Very paranoid. When he had Salvie Testa murdered who absolutely had not broken the rules it was the one event that ended up causing the whole family to implode. The reason being if he kills Salvie who was very loyal to Nicky, then he could kill anybody. I believe it is why Nick Caramandie flipped.
@bobdogg2010 Yes Nick Carmandi knew when Scarfo said he was going to kill someone eventually that guy will get it, and it's the sign of the gun. So he flipped.
IVE NEVER HEARD ANYBODY EVER SAY THAT THEY LIKED NICKY SCARFO! EVER! THAT WAS A FIRST! HE WAS VERY HATED EVEN BY HIS NEPHEW! UNREAL
Sammy liked him; he says Nicky offered to take care of Gotti for him. I guess he was good about things like that...
Sammy said he liked Nicky.
Those cops jacking up the mob are worse than the junkies. When I was a kid, my best friend's mom was the biggest heroin dealer in our neighborhood. I can't tell you how many times all of us kids would be over there playing and her own friends would come in and rob her at gunpoint, sicker than a dog crying and apologizing to her at the same time. Crazy! Not only do her own kids have those memories, but so do the rest of us neighborhood kids. As much as all of us kids hated junkies, we'd never thought we see anybody else using that nasty drug after our generation, but here we are. How? Why?
I knew Nicky back in my youth I grew up in Philly around this he was the guy and everyone knew it. I had family that worked with Nicky back is south Philly. Like I said before 29th and Snyder in South Philly. I moved out at 18 and joined the Army now living in Indiana.
Same but Nickys mechanic was my neighbor. And my mom tutored some of those kids from that life. I miss ricci hoagies and south Philly .

Michael can complain about his life not being normal but he has benefited greatly from it. Made MILLIONS for using that life. Yes he made his way and is VERY SMART but without his Dad who knows where he would be right now.. (probably still succeeding but I really doubt at this level)
It's crazy that they can tell the ins and out of all these stories
@Zol B no doubt I understand I'm jus wondering why they willing to give up all kinds of info
I find it amusing that a lot of these retired/ex-mobsters have positive things to say about Nicky Scarfo personally when he was one of the most rampaging, murderous mob figures in modern history.
He did say it without saying it that Nicky was a mad man.
South Philly is last inner-city, blue collar, Italian neighborhood w/ highly visible mafia presence. Kids still play stickball (halfball), turn on fire hydrants, and old men sit outside social clubs
probably hella safe too hope it stays that way although I doubt it
@James Robert Pussy
@Jeff It's Albanians living in Belmont. Very few Italians actually live there. It's just Italian restaurants and stores

Michael Franzese is the definition of the ''wise guy''...What an interesting figure...
Get Joey Merlino on her Vlad
Joey is still in the life. I doubt he would say much.
Merlino *just* got out of prison and is still active. Ain’t no way he’s doing an interview. Merlino is too smart for that and he’s got one of the best lawyers around. No way he’d let Merlino sit for an interview.
Ain’t he the current boss ? I highly doubt he’d ever do that interview unless he wanna get wacked right after lol
Joey would never do it. Feds would 100% use his interview answers against him.
Joey loves the spot light im sure he would if he could but i think he learned about not attracting to much attention from his past lol.
I like how this guy is happy to say ‘I don’t know’, ‘I wasn’t there’ or ‘It was a different crew’. He’s willing to give an opinion, but we’re always aware that’s what it is.
I wish if Vlad would ask him about the disappearance of Tommy DeSimone and how he was set up.
I'd be surprised if he knew him, Desimone was a bit of nobody really.
First time I've ever heard anybody say they liked Nicky Scarfo 🤔
I doubt they’ve ever even met Michael is just using his name
Thanks Vlad, I always look forward to any new Franzese interviews....

House got raided twice. 🥴 Not fun, first time felt more violated then the 2nd. I was still an asshole the first time but didn’t stand my ground as much. 2nd time I let them know who’s fucking house it was. Got let out in 4 days on a no file. They’ve been following me ever since.
the sopranos depicted this..
When a father gos to prison, the effects on his family is absolutely devastating. Because the lives of his entire family is completely upended in every way. Their lives become completely unstable and out of whack, the family suffers economically, children are left confused and scared, and the children often due to housing instability look to the streets for security and direction and for everything else that the home isn't giving them which often leads to gangs, drugs, crime, violence, incarceration , and ultimately a violent death. I have a friend who's dad was sent to prison when he was about 12-13 years old, and man his suffered greatly like you wouldn't believe. They went through it real bad, like no joke.
sad
Cool story bro
Some people realize very young that crime is bad and leads to a tough life and doesn’t really pay. Others need to listen to this guy.

My dad used to work at Holmesburg prison, he always talked about meeting ALOT of South Philly mafia members. He worked 27 years there, always had some crazy ass stories when he got off work...lol
Every nigga from the struggle know that feeling
I can listen to Michael Franzese tell stories all day long...very fascinating. I grew up in the northeast in an era when the mafia was going strong...always stories in the NY Daily News with its creative headlines along the photos and mob nicknames. Made for good reading.
His about having a family member die due to the mob.
Vlad literally read my comments lol I specifically asked for him to talk about Greg Scarpa, Roy DeMeo, and Nicky Scarfo.
Vlad please get Philip “crazy Phil “ Leonetti or George Anastasia the reporter from Philly. Philly mob had the best mob story ever. It should be the next Scorsese movie. Hands down.
That’s facts bro. South Philly mob was wild af. They shot them streets up like the crazy
I'm sure it's interesting but you can't say it's more interesting than New York. New York had five families fighting for well over 100 years. You had constant assassinations, assassination attempts countless wars between families. I would like to see Philly mob get more shine and love though but to say it was more interesting than New York that's crazy
Baldheadslck Philly was quite until Scarfo. After that they were waaaaayy wilder than anything ny did. Hell even the ny mob took them off the commission cause they were too crazy. Called them cowboys cause they shot up blocks all the time
@@mrblaque215 Oh no doubt they were wild after Nicky got in power. I'm not doubting that at all. I'm just saying in totality if you go through the histories of both it's not even close. basically there was one period in the Philly mob where they were just so outrageous. But if you just had to like tally up just stories and personalities New York would win. some of our guys went out of town and ran other cities and became famous like Al Capone.
Baldheadslck in that case, I agree. You right about that. NYC did have more pull just cause they had five different gangs runnin the city.
You ever read the letters scarfo was sending to his 86 year old mother while in prison?😂 dude was next level crazy but gotta respect it
if you ever watch the old nicky scarfo videos in court, or in his photos, he is the epitomy of a gangster. So many movies and actors have tried to replicate his style, demeanor, and suave, but never achieved it. Straight and never talked. Dude was a real mafioso.
That like that episode on the Sapronos, when the cops were banging on the door, and his wide said, "Is this it?"
Could listen to Michael Franzese all day.
I took care of Nicky Scarfos wife in a nursing home in NJ she thought Nicky had her hidden from the feds . I remember a picture of her doing Jackie Kennedy's nails she said she came in her shop and she was the one who got to do her nails she was proud of that moment moment. She was funny when she would get mad at the nurses station she would call them cows 1 day I walking in, and her stuff was all gone they said she passed
Unfortunately I know what this guy is talking about unfortunately.
