I've been to some messy CEX stores but this one is usually one of the better ones. Maybe an off day but the lack of games in certain sections as well as the mess, makes me wonder..

6:01 - Thats not true, CEX have got wise and a lot of steelbooks are now priced up over the cost of the standard copy (Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a eg)
Was in cex today and they’ve turned round to me and said (after I bought 2 steelbooks ) keep an eye out as they will be pricing them up very soon
@@cameronholliday2819 Yep, id say a good 70% are already priced up over standard releases, not all but most. TVM is working off old information, they started doing the pricing up of steelbooks about 3mths ago.

Dead pool £52?!? Last year I bought from music magpie for like £25
I don't think Cex want PS2 games. They offer a third or less than the sale value in trade for nearly all PS2 games. PSP is the same, they offer pennies on it so I'm guessing they just don't want them in stores. Whereas anything above a tenner on GameCube they offer 2/3. Wii for whatever reason they offer 2/3 on nearly everything so they must want that stuff. My guess is they're going to do what they did to PS1 with that generation sooner rather than later, where they're more selective with what they'll take and start doing manual/no manual prices
Well i saw a couple of weeks ago white wiis were £60 i was shocked! But i saw today they are gping for £42. I think thats a more sensible price

It's an awful CEX in general. Lazy staff who reject any disc or game for any reason to avoid having to imput it into their system. I traded in a pile of games recently to Newport after this CEX rejected them mostly because they were Nintendo Classics titles so they have to manually input them into the system rather than scan the barcode. They reject anything with even a slight scratch on the disc but yet most the discs they sell are horrendous ans haven't been cleaned or resurfaced, which most CEXs do as standard. All their more expensive titles are hidden away on a back shelf where you can't see them.
It's honestly mind-blowing. I get that staff can be lazy but you'd think the franchisee or area manager would have something to say.

People saying the new Deadpool movie doesn't have anything to do with the game going up in price. Yes it does. The film will generate interest in the character and some people will see that there's a game and because you can only get the game physically (due to rights issues) people can charge more for the physical copy.
Okay so why didn't it go up in price when Deadpool 2 came out? Its an old game that's out of print and isn't on digital. That's all.
@@KingLiam-im3fw i didn't say it being old and out of print wasn't a factor just the added interest from the new film would cause renewed interest. People have been buying the Fallout games recently because of the show. Same thing applies here.
As for why it didn't go up during Deadpool 2's release. I'm fairly sure it maintained it's value. The PS4 version stayed at about £30 for years.
Plus, the market is fickle. Sometimes stuff goes up, sometimes it goes down and sometimes it stays the same. Happens with everything

I’ve been checking that CEX for ages . Not very good. Trying to get NFS Carbon on PS3. Tried earlier and o don’t think anyone has traded in any ps2/3 games for months
Have you tried places like cash convertors or cash generators mate? I picked up carbon on 360 for £1 from my local convertors.
