Having been a Police Officer in Minnesota, i see some issues with the Officer that was shot. First thing you learn, is Seek Cover. His body cam showed front house, visual access. The man in home would have seen the cop😮. I had to have a degree and another year in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement. Most Police possess a degree and a Degree Award. Unless you've been in a gunfight you never know how to react. I do see positive and correct law enforcement techniques and procedures as well. Sould be used as training video. I would probably use some of the language they do as well 😮.
That cop screaming and dropping the F bomb with every sentence, really needs to work on his professionalism. I understand that he’s in a firefight and it’s a very tense situation for everyone involved. However, to scream like that in a residential neighborhood is absolute trash.
I liked how when the door knocker ,told the other Deputy , to hold the door and stand fast , he just did his own thing without any regards to maintaining a tight perimeter ,
It's easy to seat in the seat of judgement. It's a different story to actually do the job. This video doesn't provide enough information from enough camera sources. Remember, the old adage of four people seeing an accident so you'll get four truths? Be careful about making such swift judgements unless you're willing to do the training, put in the time, and go into the field.
The person inside the home fired first at the deputies. When that occurred, the deputies retreated and their objective was to keep the suspect contained. I live in the neighborhood where this occurred and am familiar with the layout of the homes on that street. The deputy that was shot in the hand had limited cover options considering the need to keep anyone from leaving the house from the front. If the suspect escaped the house there was a risk he would take hostages. If you observe the video closely, the deputy was hit in the hand by a bullet that first went through the side of the house and then the overhead garage door before it hit his hand. It's likely there was no vehicle in the garage at the time, otherwise it would have absorbed more of the bullets that were fired. There was no way for the deputy to know whether or not the garage contained a lot of items that would stop bullets. Also, consider that the suspect had only fired two rounds into the hillside at the back of the house, so the suspect was then known to be dangerous, but not necessarily suicidal. Essentially the deputies were trying to keep the suspect contained in the house until an armored vehicle arrived. If the suspect had escaped out the front and was mobile, it would have made the situation even worse.
@@tomdavey7628 So what you're saying is the duties made poor choices of cover which put them at more risk and forced them to abandon their original objective in the end? Almost like what I said.
Didn't you watch the video. The person inside the home fired their weapon at deputies three different times until the deputies returned fire. The deputies were trying to keep the suspect contained. If they didn't keep the suspect contained, he could have exited the house and taken hostages in an attempt to get away.

I hate guns, but if they're taken away from all "common people", criminals are gonna see that - duh🤷! Because they're of that criminal mentality, law won't stop them from maintaining their own.
Maybe when a shootout has already started, don’t jump out from behind cover and start yelling as soon as you see the bad guy.? And what’s with the entire police force retreating as soon as there’s gunfire? Find good cover and contain the f’ing shooter.
Pathetic, it's like these guys aren't prepared to let anger supercede their fear and handle their business, like scared boys, guys running for his life with 0 situational awareness total panick reaction from everyone, this perp totally controlled the situation, they retreated and he even followed and kept on their heels when they had their guard down and backs turned, I have no doubt that he could've just as easily escaped at that time if he had somehow known how little resistance the police force would offer
"Officer hit" basically means the criminal signed their own death warrant. The second an officer is fired on, or especially hit, their aggression increases times 1000.
Everytime I see these videos it's makes very happy I don't live in America, I live in a gun free country & it's heaven compared to the USA, I would not even visit America if someone paid me to.
How does one guy pin down an entire police force? Maybe instead of yelling “show me your hands” at a guy that’s ALREADY shot at you, you and the 20 other cops present turn that house into swiss cheese.
Cops are, for the most part, lousy shots so, let's not encourage 20 of them to turn a house into Swiss cheese. (Suspect, the other day fired five rounds and struck two officers twice each. Two other cops fired 38 rounds and only struck the suspect 8 times.)

He wins
I’d say he definitely did intentionally do that since he not only did shoot 1st time after yelling” wtf you want” but then shot up 2 other officers 5 mins later.
Since he repeatedly fired at and actually struck at least one of the deputies with gunfire, I'd say it was an attempt to end their lives. His motive for doing that to literally any other person are kind of a moot point.

@@dragonwings5134 Check on all those requirements.
What about the innocent neighbors? How about children in the house . No concern?
Didn't you watch the video. The person inside the home fired their weapon at deputies three different times until the deputies returned fire. The deputies were trying to keep the suspect contained. If they didn't keep the suspect contained, he could have exited the house and taken hostages in an attempt to get away.
