Great video as always Stan! Love your detailed answers. Also thanks for sharing the history pics
Thanks so much Candice! Of course, it was definitely a fun trip, and highly recommend going to the museums if you ever travel to DC!
Thanks so much for your kind words Stan! They really mean a lot to me! The details you gave me were exactly what I was looking for! I really appreciate you ! ❤
Of course Joe! Keep on making that great content and offering your sage advice!

Great video, Stan!
Thanks Dugroz!
Great video Stan. Bofa was my first bank ever, wish they can push out more travel perks and travel partners so i can be enthusiastic with them again.
Thanks Yue! Yeah, BofA definitely needs to get on that travel partner situation so they can be more competitive with Amex and Chase!
BofA Alaska card is worth it for the companion pass IMO (grandfathered no spend required that is). Thanks for the info + video!
Awesome Jimmy James! I'm glad you're grandfathered in. You're welcome!
Thank you for the video, Stan. Both my wife and I have the BofA Alaska Airlines card. My card is grandfathered in, but we got my wife's card after the $6,000 spend requirement was put into place. We meet the spend requirement on her card with purchases that don't fit into any category with point multipliers (ex. auto insurance). We used both companion passes last summer on a family vacation and took our daughters to California. We live in Florida, and while Alaska Airlines does most of its business on the west coast, they have plenty of flights out of both Tampa and Orlando (my local airports) on a daily basis.
One very nice feature is that Alaska's companion fare is valid for flights to Alaska and Hawaii. Other airlines limit you to the lower 48 states unless you are a legal resident of Alaska or Hawaii. The value we get from the companion fare tickets far exceeds the annual fee. We plan to hold onto our Alaska Airlines credit cards with both hands. All the best.
That's great! I'm happy that you were grandfathered in with the Companion Fare before the card refresh! That companion fare is definitely a highlight for this card, and it sounds like you're getting a lot of value from those passes! And especially because you have more 2 of them, that is very nice for your family! I've flew Alaska a few times, and every time I have, it's been a great experience! If I ever start to fly more on Alaska, I'll definitely consider this card as well!
Stan, If you are willing and have time. I know you have mentioned the SW Priority and United Explorer. Would really like to see a video on airline cards and when they make sense and when they do not factoring in $$ they give, miles they give, and with respect to the United Explorer the quality of the lounge
Sure thing! You are not the first person to ask me about airline cards so I’ll definitely get to work on that topic!
Love your content Stan, even tho I highly dislike Bank of America/Wachovia/WF.
I appreciate that Wilfred! BofA is definitely a polarizing bank, as is WF, but hopefully WF can come back around and give us good transfer partners and they can get in our good graces again!
Ritz-Carlton Maui...one of the best Marriott properties in the US...we stayed there over Christmas.
Very nice! Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check it out next time I’m in Hawaii! 👍
Good video. Only issue for me is this 3 months wait period. I want the benefits NOW. haha
Thanks Ping Ping! What 3-month wait period are you referring to? I think all the cards that I talked about have their benefits come right away unless I'm missing something?
Oh, I mean to get platinum honors status after depositing 100K. I think you need to maintain this 100k minimum for 3 months before you become platinum honors?@@TheCreditFrog
I have either a Chase or BofA card planned as a 45th card in 2026 still unsure which bank I will grab. At this point I have a lot of cards earning points and rewards, I just want to hold a card from either of these two. BofA has some solid cards, I think either their flat 1.5% card or a Customized Cash card would be my top choices.
BofA CCR is such an amazing card! BofA cards are just ok, but it's the Preferred Rewards program that really makes their cards shine! If you don't have that, I think Chase cards would be the better option!
When donypu plan on posting some new content?
Also, was wondering how many points did you earn thru subs vs spend in 2023?
New content comes out every week! New video coming out this Monday as usual. I'd have to look back at my records for the specific data, but I've earned probably just shy of a million points last year between welcome offers and spend.
@@TheCreditFrog great to hear.
Just curious about the split. Maybe proprietary?
I don't see any UA-camrs give out that info.
Not proprietary, I just have to log in and check 12 months of statements, so unless I had done this beforehand for a video, it takes a lot of work to figure it out!
@@TheCreditFrog oh, I thought you'd just add up the bonuses and subtract from the total. Even rough percentages can be informative.
Maybe even a video topic.
I feel sometimes the overall number is promoted from others like it was due to spending.
No worries if too much trouble. Just curious.
@@chriseverydailyshow4164 Ah, I can see that! Definitely an easier way to make that calculation than I thought, haha! Definitely a possible video topic, thanks. Yeah, the best way to get points is for sure the welcome offers and much less on the spending.
AirFrance-KLM world elite so far!
It's a great card with BofA if you fly with them!
For the Southwest priority card, do you remember if the $75 credit is as simple as pay $75 for a flight and get $75 credit?
Yes
Yup! It's a simple $75 reimbursement after you make a Southwest purchase.
