Shelters are no life for cats. Elie was miserable, especially since she slept most of the time tells you she was. Who wants to be confined in a cage day in and day out? Thank you for saving Elie..this precious little soul is no longer depressed. 🥹❤
Thankfully, not all shelters are like that. A nearby shelter I volunteered at for a couple years had big rooms the cats lived in together. The only cats in cages were ones that needed to be isolated for medical conditions, quarantined because they were new to the shelter, or new mama cats nursing their kittens, and the kittens themselves when they were old enough to be adopted.
