I am very scared Bungie will pull another Deterministic Chaos with the Khvostov. Very similar in effect, unless you're not forced to hold the trigger. which would be better already

Nah, when I watched the video, I immediately had traumatic flashbacks to Deterministic Chaos' reveal. Every [#] bullet does [thing]. I thought they killed it preemptively!
They are swapping the round functionality so that every 4th bullet makes enemies volatile, and the 16th bullet weakens them. It will also have intrinsic anti-barrier. Now, it just needs a masterwork catalyst, and I think that Subsistence and Deeper Pockets (Increase magazine size and ammo reserves) would be perfect for it.
@@kailuun I'm aware. Personally I think the best perks a catalyst could give it would be either Triple Tap or Fourth Times the Charm (the latter seems especially fitting). If they don't give it either of those, then Rewind Rounds or Deconstuct with deeper pockets would likewise be neat. Though they could also give it a more unique reloading perk, sort of like what Thunderlord got, but it'd proc off Volatile instead of lightning strikes.
It better NOT be a craftable. Nobody wants to go to the Enclave and spend resources just to swap perks, when the option to just do that through a menu is easier and fine the way it is.

"Oh, I want to use the burst mode and swap the scope so I can use it in Crucible, guess I'll just load up Enclave and spend 30,000 Glimmer to do that" instead of, y'know, clicking on the view tab and just swapping your scope, firing rate / mode and perks, without having to load up a map and spend Glimmer. I get your argument, sure, it'd be cute if the Exotic Khvostov, the weapon that was designed to be what you wanted it to be, was a craftable. But I also don't plan on using different combinations, or keeping more than one in my vault, it if it IS a craftable. Defeating the purpose of the weapon. I'd just have one with all of the stuff I wanted and the gimmick would go to waste. When, hear me out, I could just swap between firing modes in-match, change my RPM in-match and if there's different optics, swap those IN-MATCH. Rather, the latter of everything I just said.
That Exotic Perk from the looks of it Could be realy good For Pvp in the Right situation Having a Bullet bounce between enemies you might not even have a Line of sight on if there close enough to ine that you do could make for some easier Clean up by yourself or a Temamate
Ive been using a grey khvostov since i started the game, only switching it out for some exotics. This will finally be a worthy replacement of my grey one.
i really hopw we get it near the start of the campign getting the use the first gun at the end is just poetic like the last misstion is has us in that tunnel momentarly to pick it up and we go nuts
I am looking forward to using Khvostov again (it was one of my favorites in D1) but I really wish they had made it craftable and made the catalyst an option of different subclass perks. Like Incandescence or Voltshot, but kept it as a kinetic. Though, with the reveal of Prismatic, maybe that would have been a little too OP in Bungie's eyes.
How's this for an idea: A paired exotic ( like in the beginning of D2) that's auto rifle and rocket launcher, the rocket launcher perk is that you can place it on the ground like a mortar and it will fire like one prioritizing the closest enemies, but it you have the paired auto rifle equipped you can use that to designate targets for the the rocket launcher.
Looks like it’s time to slap a black shader on this thing! Also didn’t expect the carry handle to actually be a sight since I saw only pictures of it from the side.
Was really hoping it would retain its Rise of Iron setup where you could change it from an auto rifle to scout or pulse and then update it so that you could switch between the three like the hardlight without having to go into the menu, it would have been great for dealing with multiple types of champions. Oh well, missed opportunity.
Honestly I’m happy with this. I hated Khvostov in D1 because it literally just felt like a legendary. This makes it stand out from other options but also (hopefully with crafting) maintains its original identity which isn’t really that unique any more.
Khvostov should have been like the exotic class items. Two exotic weapon perks randomly rolled into one gun. Imagine having an auto rifle with perfect fifth with cruel remedy or sun blast or something.
Everyone competing in the World's First Raid race should have the Khvostov and use it at the end of the final damage phase to defeat The Witness. It's only fitting..
I honestly felt a bit, dissapointed. Other than it being crafted, i wanted it to be more of an omni rifle type of gun. Being able to switch from semi auto high damage, to burst fire high stability, to full auto short range on the fly. The jack of all trades rifle.
I really wish they changed hard lights catalyst bonus stability does nothing when you have fundamentals. Give it incandescent, voltshot, and destabilizing based on elements
I really hope that its super craftable/adjustable. Maybe make it the only weapon with three perks in every slot? These showcases never tell us everything about the exotics, so theres no reason to be all doomer yet.
Ok so what if it ain’t craftable? Still gonna love using my old trusty friend of a weapon again. (besides theres a chance that they’re probably gonna make it like D1 where the options like fire rate are there in the perk list.)
I wouldn't get too excited, plenty of opportunity for Khostov to be an underwhelming auto rifle 😬 but maybe your prophesy is correct anyway when it and Hard Light will battle to the death in the tower Vault lol

I despise the new scope/sight for it. The original was fine, why does bungie insist on over complicating designs. In the case of MH worlds weapon designs the art devs should have stepped up their game but in the case of bungie they really need to tone it down, even things out and it some cases do both.

They actually are going to change how it works in TFS, the details are mentioned in the most recent blog post.
