Honestly, the JD Vance choice does not surprise me, it feels like a continuation of Trump liking the publicity but not the responsibility of the Presidency. Purposely choosing an anti-republic VP that won't assist in bringing in much if any votes fits right in with the "never wanted to win, just wanted the publicity of a run and control of the RNC".
