In all seriousness, my boy Wolf is back! And it's great to see Pichu, Young Link and Pokemon Trainer as well, I am sure Sakurai will do his best in trying to have each character balanced, after all he's making the game more competitive friendly without excluding casual players.
Oh and in his defense, we all have our favorite characters we like, both as characters themselves and how they play. So Olimar is no different, a rare sight but a welcomed one in my opinion, I love seeing people liking and playing different characters than mine personally. c:

You asked why Pichu still damage itself? The pokedex states that it damages itself as its electric pouches haven't fully been developed. In a Smash standpoint you could say it was to not make a Pikachu clone.
Heraldic Entertainment Pichu has its own moves too though, so it wouldn’t be a clone even if it didn’t have the damaging itself mechanic. I wonder if Pichu will have the old nair, or the new one they gave Pikachu.
I think Pichu might have a new move similar to little mac, where when it takes enough damage, it can use a sick finisher.
Even if not, I'm excited to see the hilarity of Pichu throwing Snake and pummeling Ridley.
Pichu gets free rage now, it could be a super glass cannon.

pichu doesn't hurt it's self in the games. that comes from a Pikachu short movie from the anime
Volt tackles is a move only learned by Pichu. The move damages the user. Plus pokedex entries and all that stuff

I've watched a quite a few of these reactions vids, and I've gotta say I'm sick of the attitude so many of these YT'ers have. The roster, with Echo's, is currently at 68. The stage count is around 100. Name me ANY other fighting game that comes even close to this? This constant feeling of "that's not enough" is honestly insulting to Sakurai and his team. He's said the focus was on getting everyone back, and not to expect too many new fighters. Of course we'll still get some between now and launch, as it's the best way to promote the game and keep people hyped, but the fact people act like he's not done enough yet is incredibly rude. Sakurai could release the game with only the content shown in this reveal and it would still be the best Smash game, with the most content ever released, so how about you be grateful for what you're getting, rather than acting like a spoilt brat and demanding more constantly.

I've seen a few reactions from E3 and everyone I've seen is happy to see Daisy, or at the least pleasantly surprised
Question you said, "How Will they continue the hype?" Is that even question the game is just enough.
If you noticed, the pink Inkling was refilling over a cyan floor. This proves that Inklings don't need to stand on their own ink to refill. They just have to shield and B.

There will likely be more new characters. Daisy, Inklings, and Ridley can't be the only new ones. They wouldn't show everything right now.

Enny Gima Perhaps. I just find it strange that they just dropped the entire roster this early. They've never done that before. Telling us that everyone who's ever been in is back plus 3 more essentially leaves no more surprises with the characters, which makes me think there's more.
It depends on if they plan to (and how soon) drop a new smash game - this is more like a port+ if you think about it. Although the attention to detail on all the changes is pretty impressive for using the port as a base. So if they're using this as a way to buy a little more time for a non port smash game then they may add characters in a way that gives them the time frame needed to finish up the next game. And sure you could argue that there will be no 'next', but Cloud, Ridley, and the return of Ice Climbers were 'impossible' right? Plus, do you really think they would let smash die? I think not when it breaks the bank every release lol.
The next Direct is in a month, they'll reveal more characters I bet on it. I have an idea that it'll be Shadow from the Sonic series simply because all of his assist trophies were replaced with Knuckles (that we know of from the invitationals).
