    A s a VFX Student, up till this point, I just wanna say thank you so much for this tutorial, we were taught to manually create textures in photoshop which was very painful. If the textures isn't right, we have to tweak again and again in PS, every single map. The masterpiece of substance painter and designer REALLY helps speeds up the process of our work! With basic experience in Houdini and Nuke, it helped us to understand Designer faster, and I am loving this so far!

    If there is anyone struggling because they can't see the transform rectangle after exposing the offset & widget, make sure :
    That your matrix identifier contains the suffix matrix22 (For exemple twig_matrix22)
    That your offset identifier contains the suffix offset (For exemple twig_offset)
    That they are in the same group
    That the matrix22 is set to Float4 & Transformation (inverse)
    And that the offset is set to Float 2 & Transform offset

    There's a question: in 02-11, after I exposed the matrix as an output, I can't see the white-wire rectangle in the 2Dview. I clicked "Edit in 2D View" but nothing happened.
    What should I do?

    Thank you a ton for the video. I do not understand though why should I preserve the string "matrix22" within the identifier. Isn't that just an override on the label of the internal attribute?

    • @Substance3D
      @Substance3D  5 років тому +5

      It's just needed for the transform widget in the viewport.

    • @xtruder3D
      @xtruder3D 5 років тому +1

      Ah! So basically we wouldn't need that in case of exposing the attribute for an external dcc application. I think I understand now. Thank you. You guys are awesome.

    Hey, I have exposed the Matrix22 parameter of the transform 2D node, however, the square used to actually transform the shape isn't showing up in the 2D view when I go to my preview. Any idea on what i'm doing wrong?

    • @Substance3D
      @Substance3D  4 роки тому +2

      In the exposed parameter do you have the identifier named materix22. Also you will need to expose the offset and name it offset. If you have multiple transform you can use a suffix such as tranform01_materix22 and transform01_offset.

    The second I expose the matrix parameter no matter what I name it the teansform gizmo disappears and will not return. The only solution is to blindly adjust offset.

    is there a plan to make it live not by always double-clicking on the root just to see those expose parameters just like how we expose parameters too in Unreal Engine which is real-time so it is much faster rather than back and forth?

    • @Substance3D
      @Substance3D  5 років тому +1

      You can work around this by pinning/making the root graph permanent: just like any sub-panel in Designer can be permanently made visible.

      We are going to automate this with material instances but you can manually adjust the tiling in the material editor. docs.substance3d.com/integrations/tiling-substance-159451177.html

    Exposed parameter ain't working even when I kept identifier name the default. It should just work right? :\ I tried exposing 'Size_xy' of shape node (capsule).
    Also, How to delete exposed parameter? I simply clicked cross at graph level. It made Yellow Exclamation mark on node..
    It disappears after resetting the parameter that was exposed and deleted.. but it sucks since it resets the value.

    Hello guys, thanks for that awesome tutorial the Twig_Matrix is not working here, when i click 2 times on the background and neither when i import the Twig graphs on my scene.
    I tried also to download your file and also isnt working, can you guys know why ? The transformer rectangle is not appearing

    • @Substance3D
      @Substance3D  5 років тому

      Thanks! Glad you liked the tutorial. Sorry to about the issues you have experienced. It should be working. I checked the file on my end as well. When you instance the twig graph into another graph, you should see the transform manipulator. In the 2D view, you don't see the transform?

    • @marcostron7775
      @marcostron7775 5 років тому

      @@Substance3D thanks for the reply, yeah i cant see the manipulator, changing by hand the settings on X and Y worked to end the tutorial, just got sad because the manipulator is not working nicely like yours, with the bounding box and friendly to mouse change looking on 2d View :/
