    My biggest takeaway from this video was to sit tall, bend elbows, imagine train tracks and that contact is SO SO important! If you have contact, everything else is so much easier. Thank you so much for explaining this so well, there were so many takeaways! Your Chanel has helped my riding progress so much faster and i’m glad someone else can relate and has the same issues with their riding. Thankyou!!! 😍😍🥰🥰🐴🐴💥💥

    Lightbulb moment regarding trot and canter being the same speed! So much to take away from this lesson - sitting taller, stop trying so hard, legs off, two point position. I can't wait to try this on my boy. Thank you michelle and alicia and of course you Gee 💕

    'You're trying too hard' - Yep i think we're all guilty of that little number in our riding hours. I watched this on my phone and all the time I'm thinking those were so many of the issues i had. I'm going to watch this again on the tv to see if i can pick out better the points you were making when you said you culd see what the issues were. I also know that because there was so much going on mentally for Michelle that she could have kicked herself when she gave you the wrong direction that the shoulder should be because i know she knew the right answer. This was a really helpful video for so many of your veiwers. Awedome work ladies👍💛👍💙

    One thing I learned from this video is that it is okay to do inside-bend /outside-bend. I've always felt like it would equal see-sawing the horses mouth and therefore I have been a big opponent to doing this. But learning that it can be okay to do - not to get them in the frame but to find the connection. I have a horse that also tends to just go in the frame but without seeking the actual contact. And now I know that it is okay to do nside-bend /outside-bend to find the connection rather than just the frame. Really nice to know that it is okay sometimes, even though probably I will keep being a little shy about doing it too much. x

She can be hard work bless her. If i carry a whip then it's only lightly applied if leg aids don't work but i don't make a habit of carrying one. Hi Lola! Thanks so much for tuning in! Lifting the shoulder refers to getting the shoulders upright for Gee to be able to strike off into canter correctly x

    My riding problem definitely has to be my posture! Not only do I slouch, which makes my riding look ugly, but I have fluid build up on my left shoulder, which makes me struggle to maintain holding of the rein. I am always trying to correct myself, but sometimes I feel like I’m not getting anywhere. I’m obviously following my physiotherapists advice and exercise plan, but can you recommend anything for helping my posture Alicia? X

    Hey i have a question do I keep my outer leg behind the girth all the time when I am cantering or just to ask for the canter then put it back over the girth?

    • @YourRidingSuccess
      @YourRidingSuccess  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much for tuning in! What a great question! The aid for canter should be a quick pop of the outside leg behind the girth and then it should return to the normal position.

      @@YourRidingSuccess Does that mean I shouldn't keep the outer leg behind the girth all the time in the canter? What is the normal position, and when i wanna give the horse a kick when i am cantering Use any leg?

      @YourRidingSuccess  2 роки тому +1

      No you don't want to have the outleg behind the girth all the time in the canter, you want to return it to the normal position at the girth. You can kick with both legs when cantering x

      @YourRidingSuccess  2 роки тому

      Thanks so much for tuning in! How are your hands moving? Is it more that you are letting the reins go through your hands or are your hands moving around quite alot? Leaning forward is often a symptom- watch how in the video Michelle leans forward due to gripping with her legs x

    Someone told me that after a half an hour riding the horses back starts to hurt them. This sounded unreal to me. Could you comment on this from your perspective. I ride my Arabian for an hour, twice a week and want to make sure I am not hurting him.

      Hi Marcy! What you need to remember is if you condition your horse to the work, their body is strong enough to do the work. So if you had a horse that was particularly unfit and not strong, you'd need to be cautious of how long you are riding when bringing back into work.

    I have to say, it’s so easy to grip with your legs when riding without stirrups, if you feel like to might lose your balance and fall off. 😒
