They used to hold the Western Open golf tournament there decades ago, before it moved to Butler, then Cog Hill. The Western Open was the oldest PGA tournament but they ended it soon after they started the FedEx Cup playoff system. I went to the last Western Open. At the 23rd minute, Little Company of Mary Hospital, my Great Aunt lived a few blocks away. 34th minute, the broadcast towers for WVON radio on the NE side of 87th and Kedzie. 51st minute, we used to get off at the Beverly stop to visit my Aunts and Uncle's a few miles east of there. You turned left on Laflin a few blocks from where they lived, south of Brainerd Park. Thanks for the ride back home!
