RRTS should be expanded to all the regions and states nearest to Delhi NCR and it should connect all the major cities that are located just 200-300 kms away from Delhi due to this the level of pollution due vehicular emissions will get reduced significantly. Delhi - jaipur is almost 250 kms , Delhi - Chandigarh 300 kms Delhi - Agra 300 kms , Delhi - shimla 300 kms , Delhi - rishikesh 300 kms and these all cities connecting roads face heavy traffic so if they have RRTS as alternative option it will promote tourism, industry, reduce traffic and pollution . Why arent they planning a Delhi to Rohtak RRTS as well, it wont be as long and will still be very busy and important... Theh can connect Rohtak RRTS to green metro line as well.
Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra and Telangana govts shown their interests in RRTS and they are doing feasibility studies soon you will see RRTS in major southern cities like banglore, Hyderabad, konchi, Chennai and various other cities.
As of right now, RRTS seems feasible in the NCR region. The reason being Delhi has reached its limits, and close satellite cities can be connected with this system. The cities that are within 100kms and lots of commuters travelling on a daily basis. For example there are people who travel from Meerut to Delhi for work, earlier they had to travel by car or relocate to Delhi, now they can travel from home is a short time. Talking of South Indian states, there are not many large cities closeby who travel daily, even if there are, they are close to the main city. But yes, the govts have shown their interest and probably planning now will be beneficial as when the population of these nearby cities grows (which will grow sooner than later), the system can cater to them. We can already see Bengaluru is getting over crowded with traffic jams and high rents. This can be controlled with a RRTS, people will be able to stay away from the offices yet still be able to reach them in a short time
