My vet said negative and mange. After my piggy almost dying I decided to get online, found you and a couple others. And saved my piggy. I watched him have seizures and screem to the point I cried so hard. He's good now but not because of my vet, because of me loving him enough to do research and you loving them enough to share with us this information. Thank you gethin the bottom of my piggys hearts♥️♥️♥️
Poor baby! I can't believe that people let it get this bad. People just kill me, it's horrible! I know ringworm is common but come on don't let it get that bad, the piggie is suffering. Thank you Saskia for all you and your volunteers do, you all are amazing. Love you Saskia and poor baby boy
@@lilianfranco4020 I agree. She even said that the vet had billed them $1000 so far and still not been able to solve the problem. This is a small animal specialty that many vets don't have. Without seeing this video I don't think I would be prepaired to handle this. Great education for us all.
I think they maybe just aren't sure what to do, what is happening, and they may fear the vet bill too. I don't think people deliberately do this to their pets. I think they just don't know. These videos help so much though.
I had a piggie die while my family was on vacation for a 1 month road trip. The person taking care of him (and others) said he lost a ton of fur and was scabby (but not before he died). So many times I see piggies who get ringworm after having an upper respiratory infection or other stressors. This poor guy! I am praying for his recovery!
Saskia, thanks so much for all the good, practical video logs that you record about how to take care of guinea pigs and any special needs that they have. I don't really know of another UA-cam channel like yours that delves into the specific medical needs that might occur with ownership of guinea pigs. As I said before, you're a true angel! 😁💖💕💓❤
Thank you Jim!! Most of the videos are not planned and just happen as the situation arises and I have a special affinity with the medical needs of piggies. I never know what case is going to find their way here, every day is different! ❤🌻🌻❤❤🌻
Yes he is! Isaac went to the vet yesterday and we had Xrays done. I flushed his tooth root abscesses today and he was interested in eating after that!! I do believe he suffered a bad fall because both upper and lower incisors have puss at the roots. He too has a long road to go.
Also I forgot to add is YOU ARE AMAZING!!! The knowledge, care, education and more. All of those little ones are in good hands. And I can’t believe how people dumb so many. Sad face.
I've never been around Guinea pigs. I've never had one, know nothing about one. I found this channel a while back, subscribed and really enjoy watching how you love and care for these sweet little piggies. The Benadryl made him relax, between that and your gentle touch, he was loving that brushing. 😊 If I lived in the LA area, I'd volunteer and help you take care of these babies. Your beautiful and amazing, Saskia.❤💕❤
You have a very good way with the cuties. Good bedside manner. It’s crystal clear you know what you are doing and that you love what you are doing. Not that you love sick or injured munchkins but that you love them and truly care. Helping them out!! I don’t mean to be rude to whom ever surrendered that cutie but I often wonder why people wait so long ? You can’t miss many of these things and if they say they don’t see it …I often wonder do they even play or hold the munchkin. If you do you would see it. You do such a great great job!!! Lovingly and caring . 💕💕💕
i beleive it too Saskia. I asked mine yesterday what they wanted and I learned a new word. Grettuce. All the good green things. From grass to lettuce and all in between.
My piggie has this and none of the stuff he’s been given by vets has cured him. Out of frustration I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands. Thanks for this video! Im gonna try this for my poor boy and hope he heals!

That moment in 6:40 showed a lot to me. No doubt you treat them with true kindness. They really apreciate all what you do for them and so do I too. Can't wait to see more updates!

What a ham. I hope he's feeling better now. I had a piggy many years who had skin problems and the vet did a skin scraping that came back negative. we did ivermectin for mites but she never really improved and died shortly after from lymphoma. it now kills me to think it was ringworm she had and I could have made her more comfortable in her last months. This is a highly educational video, thank you for sharing.
